Creature comforts
Enjoy the comforts of home at some sites—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
Shepards Mill, near Greensboro, FL, offers a chance to experience Florida history. Built in 1875, it is one of the State's last remaining water-powered gristmills. Though no longer operating, the surrounding area now serves as a peaceful camping destination. Camp in a tent or RV steps from the historic mill. Enjoy the natural setting—relax by the fire pit, explore trails, or fish in Telogia Creek. Use Shepards Mill as a base to explore North Florida, including Lake Talquin, Maclay Gardens, Florida Caverns, and Torreya State Park. Tallahassee, home to FAMU, FSU, and TSC, is about 30 minutes away. Book your stay today at Shepards Mill.

Tent site · Sleeps 4
Creekside Campsite is a primitive site tucked behind the historic Shepard’s Mill in a quiet, family-run setting. Located in an open grassy area along Telogia Creek, the campsite offers views of the Mill and natural Florida right at the water’s edge. Guests have the entire grassy creekside area to themselves. The site sits just beyond our family home, and guests may occasionally see free-range chickens or friendly pets nearby. Parking is a short walk from the campsite, so light packing is recommended. Campfires are allowed in the designated area. This is a primitive site with no potable water or electricity but there is nearby access to a restroom and water hose. For your safety, access to Mill buildings and other structures is not permitted.
