Much history here, with the small town of stone houses, making Hurley a national historic destination. This serene is secluded on a mountain surrounded by trees with seasonal views. The campsite is neighboring 105 acres of beautiful conservatory land available for hiking. No true trails are available, but you can be adventurous and hike further up the mountain, arriving to a clearing, providing you with a lovely mountainous view. From the mountain, you can hike to a waterfall or even hike across a lovely plain field surrounded by mountain ranges on both sides and crossing the creek over to Historic Stone houses in Hurley. Within a 10 minute drive check out some of the local restaurants like Alebrijes, Hickory BBQ & Smokehouse, and the Hurley Inn where the movie “Tootsie” was filmed!. Hurley Marbletown Trailhead and Rail trail parking are only a 6 minute drive away! The town of Kingston is about 15 minutes from our site where you will find Bluestone Wild Forest, antique shops, restaurants, other outdoor activities! The nights are just spectacular as you look into the sky surrounded by a blanket of stars, able to see the many constellations looking like jewels on a black cloth. The sounds of nature and all of it's distinct calls including that of eagles, is truly an experience. And we cannot forget our other friendly neighbors, the wild turkeys and deer! We are very appreciative of this beauty and would love to share this sacred place with you. When he wanted to sell his property he offered it to us for purchase at a fair price if we would not develop more than we needed to live here. We maintained the meadow adjacent to our property and have kept it as an agricultural site. We have had our son develop an edible forest garden and a unique diversified small orchard so we can eat and share healthy organic fruits and vegetables while helping our environment and wildlife and educating others to do the same. It is expensive to live in Newtown but we love our property. We want to teach others to grow food from their land while helping to support us keeping our adjacent property agricultural and undeveloped. Well off the beaten track, it's scenic, private and peaceful. Camping at Moon In The Pond Farm is a bit of heaven. There are separate sites to choose. Around the farm, you have your own secluded spot to enjoy. (Though you may be in a field next to our Scottish Highland cattle!) Two are tent sites: the PondSide and the FieldEdge. There's one site for small/tiny RVs or Campervan. And finally there's the HiddenCabin--a bed a roof and convenience. Each has a firepit with a small grill to cook over the fire. (all firewood provided) Our campsites are in quieter areas of the farm. One overlooks the pond, others are on the edges of different farm fields, one a cabin nearer the farmstead. All require a beautiful, bucolic trek of 150-350 yards from the roadside parking--ensuring the quiet, natural experience. During the day times, you may see or hear farm work. At night it's lusciously dark and serenely quiet. You'll hear owls hoot, frogs croak, crickets chirp, foxes yowl and coyotes howl! In June and July the fields and trees light up like Christmas with fireflies, and you'll see the stars. During the week is the absolute best time--the local hot spots (or cooling down spots!) are much quieter, and all our campsites have reduced weekday rates. If you can, take advantage by adding a Thursday or Sunday night to a weekend stay. We've got an awesome, easy hiking trail on adjacent Nature Conservancy land. It meanders through woodlands, around rock ledges, through wetlands (on a 600' of boardwalk) and ends at a beautiful stream and pond with a gigantic beaver dam. Not far from here are numerous well-marked hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail (with famous Bash Bish Falls) and several offshoots (Sage's Ravine, Race Brook Falls), Bartholomew's Cobble, Umpacheenee Falls, and others). Also in the neighborhood are opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, rock climbing, gavel-road and country-road biking, and pretty much any outdoor activity/adventure opportunity. Or... you can just chill and relax, sleep, or read the day away! Love food? This is Farm-to-Table for real! Never so close--the table's AT the farm! Bring your cooking gear and get some of our wicked fresh organic food--veggies, chops, sausages, eggs, bacon, granola, yogurt, etc. Sear yourself up a real treat! Very nearby, as the Berkshires is a cultural mecca, there are also numerous opportunities from many great restaurants to art, dance, music, spas, galleries, antique shops, museums, cafes and much more. It's still amazingly quiet at the farm where the Milky Way is clearly visible.

Great for hiking and Moutainbiking Learn more about this land: We are conveniently located next to the NY Thruway exit 19 & 209 Highway yet super secluded and in nature’s paradise adjacent to the Sawkill River and across a large private Forrest. There is some road noise from Sawkill road & the Thruway dependent on the spot you choose to set up. If your’e tenting you can be in the woods way up in the forest, but most campers prefer our spot near the Sawkill River. I have fire pits, common outdoor furniture & a gasBBQ’s that can be used. There is chickens, bees & goats & 2 guardian life stocks dogs that live with the goats. I also have a small Terrier & a farm cat.  A lot of outdoor activity with bird watching, bunnies, deer & the groundhogs say good night. It’s rural yet only 10 minutes to Kingston uptown and about 20 minutes to Woodstock. About 1 hr from Hunter & Windham Mountain resorts and 45 minutes to Belleayre Ski. At night it's lusciously dark and serenely quiet. You'll hear owls hoot, frogs croak, crickets chirp, foxes yowl and coyotes howl! In June and July the fields and trees light up like Christmas with fireflies, and you'll see the stars. During the week is the absolute best time--the local hot spots (or cooling down spots!) are much quieter, and all our campsites have reduced weekday rates. If you can, take advantage by adding a Thursday or Sunday night to a weekend stay. We've got an awesome, easy hiking trail on adjacent Nature Conservancy land. It meanders through woodlands, around rock ledges, through wetlands (on a 600' of boardwalk) and ends at a beautiful stream and pond with a gigantic beaver dam. Not far from here are numerous well-marked hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail (with famous Bash Bish Falls) and several offshoots (Sage's Ravine, Race Brook Falls), Bartholomew's Cobble, Umpacheenee Falls, and others). Also in the neighborhood are opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, rock climbing, gavel-road and country-road biking, and pretty much any outdoor activity/adventure opportunity. Or... you can just chill and relax, sleep, or read the day away! Love food? This is Farm-to-Table for real! Never so close--the table's AT the farm! Bring your cooking gear and get some of our wicked fresh organic food--veggies, chops, sausages, eggs, bacon, granola, yogurt, etc. Sear yourself up a real treat! There is some road noise from Sawkill road & the Thruway dependent on the spot you choose to set up. If your’e tenting you can be in the woods way up in the forest, but most campers prefer our spot near the Sawkill River. I have fire pits, common outdoor furniture & a gasBBQ’s that can be used. There is chickens, bees & goats & 2 guardian life stocks dogs that live with the goats. I also have a small Terrier & a farm cat.  A lot of outdoor activity with bird watching, bunnies, deer & the groundhogs say good night. It’s rural yet only 10 minutes to Kingston uptown and about 20 minutes to Woodstock. About 1 hr from Hunter & Windham Mountain resorts and 45 minutes to Belleayre Ski. There is an outlet on each side of the bed for charging phones Outside the tent your area has a gas grill and picnic table, a camp box which contains pots pans, cooking utensils, paper plates, cups and more. A campbox inventory list is posted in the pictures. There is a fire pit with adirondack chairs, sit by the fire and roast Marshmallows we provide everything you need for smores including the sticks. Bath towels and toiletries are provided there is a large shower with dressing room and a deluxe flushable Porta potty with a sink and paper towels on the property. You are welcome to walk the property sit and relax on one of the many benches or chairs or get a game of cornhole going. There is a farmstand that opens seasonally. The property is about 6 acres of flat land with several great spots to camp. Across the road is our private forest about 40 acres. Great for hiking and Moutainbiking Learn more about this land: We are conveniently located next to the NY Thruway exit 19 & 209 Highway yet super secluded and in nature’s paradise adjacent to the Sawkill River and across a large private Forrest. There is some road noise from Sawkill road & the Thruway dependent on the spot you choose to set up. If your’e tenting you can be in the woods way up in the forest, but most campers prefer our spot near the Sawkill River. I have fire pits, common outdoor furniture & a gasBBQ’s that can be used. There is chickens, bees & goats & 2 guardian life stocks dogs that live with the goats. I also have a small Terrier & a farm cat.  A lot of outdoor activity with bird watching, bunnies, deer & the groundhogs say good night. It’s rural yet only 10 minutes to Kingston uptown and about 20 minutes to Woodstock. About 1 hr from Hunter & Windham Mountain resorts and 45 minutes to Belleayre Ski. We also have a wood fired oven and offer pizza making classes as well as catered meals.

They checked in to see if we needed anything prior, including the propane heater, which in 30-something degree weather was an essential and extremely helpful. The site truly had anything you could ever need. We were extremely impressed and surprised by the outhouse with toilet, shower, and usb-c chargers(!) inside. Reading reviews beforehand were helpful and led us to pack lighter, given the steep climb up. But the climb was definitely worth it. We also loved how Evan showed us how the goats and chickens were fed. My pup definitely loved running up and down the hill to the site and marveled (sometimes a little too much lol) at the goats and chickens she was seeing for the first time! Evan was both kind and accommodating. Would definitely stay again!

3 nights at Destination Farnch
Phoenix Landing is the optimal camping spot for my partner and I (and cat). Though it was just the two of us, we had no issues with the camp site and felt very safe in the area. We decided to camp out there while enjoying Halloween festivities along the Hudson. The forest/stream, on the property is beautiful and there are many trails to explore. We brought our cat who loves walking outdoors on a harness & leash - we stayed very vigilant with her, but thankfully the most we encountered was a buck during our trip (1st week of Nov.). Mike's directions are very thorough and clear - DEFINITELY read his instructions for finding the property at first. He also provides a lot of supplies if needed, especially firewood for a small cost. Communication with him was also very pleasant and easy. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended it by 1 more day 😊. Overall, we look forward to staying at Phoenix Landing again in the near future. NOTE: Needing a 4x4/ AWD vehicle is absolutely necessary to climb the property if choosing not to walk. We arrived in absolute pouring rain and thankfully our Land Cruiser had no issue. The climb / descent is definitely very fun, but if you have no experience with off-roading, it may be a bit difficult. Take it slow. Cheers! Thank you again Mike, and hope to stay again. 😸😸😸

Incredible experience with kids. What Yana and husband created on their property is a must to experience if you have kids. Just book it and make sure to ask for whatever you need, because it's all ala carte. Humble, lower tier glamping, but makes up in atmosphere and amenities for kids and interaction with the animals. 10/10 would stay again.

We loved staying at this property! We enjoyed playing cards by the beautiful creek and taking walks on the property. It was a short drive from longer hikes, such as Fahnestock State Park, which we took advantage of. Bill and Stephen were really helpful in making sure we had everything we needed. I was pleasantly surprised. We had such a heartfelt conversation with owners , and I shared my child’s health challenges. Our family is living in remission. I had no idea that this magical place regularly donates to children battling cancer. What I didn’t realize until later was that this place quietly supports children fighting cancer (donate their % of earnings ) and they welcome people with cancer free of charge. I was deeply moved when I learned that till cry The place itself is absolutely enchanting. We originally planned to stay for one night, but we were gifted two extra nights, we immediately accepted with gratitude as I were free next two days . My child forgot about pain and fear, completely absorbed in the many wonderful activities for kids, especially the time spent with the friendly small farm animals cats dogs and well mannered Jan’s children. There should be more places like this in the world. We will definitely return — not just for rest, but as a form of therapy, since we live close by . Thank you guys.

This spot stands out as my favorite of all the Hipcamp sites I’ve stayed at upstate. The location is essentially perfect... peaceful, beautiful, and easy to get to. I come here every year with my son, it’s become a tradition for us. Stephen, the host, is always a pleasure, communicative, kind, and genuinely cares about the experience. The inside of the tent is well maintained, and the stream that runs right in front adds such a magical touch. I highly recommend this place, just don’t book it in early October, because that’s when We like to come!

Staying here was a magical experience! We went in mid-October and the leaves were so beautiful. The campsite has everything you could possibly need, the bed was super comfy, and the table was great for cooking and eating breakfast on. The outhouse is extremely clean and even has a shower! The area around the site is stunning too we even saw some deer. The best part is Evan allowed us to help feed the goats and the chickens in the morning! You won't regret staying here
