Do you prefer a wooded, meadow, or brook-side campsite? No need to make that tough decision before you arrive as Macedonia Brook State Park Campground offers all three hip choices

No tent? No problem! With backpack gear in my storage unit I got a $7 tarp and parachord and built a sweet lean-to shelter in Connecticut gaining badass girl points with trail mates. Awesome circuit hike with both water and nearby Appalachian trail access. 

The brook runs through the grounds and can be explored via a trail that follows and then diverges from the main road that runs the length of the park.

The circuit hike here is home to a fabulous collection of natural hiking sticks... the ground is covered with them and many are left near the trailhead which makes for a fun addition to any hike. 

Great views after a short vertical and an awesome spot to hang with friends.. and photo bombers! haha

Mashamoquet Brook Campground

The Mashamoquet Brook Campground has fewer sites than the Wolf Den Campground (+1 for solitude), plus these sites are wooded (+1 for nature)

Holiday Hill

A century old chicken farm that was turned into a summer day-camp and outdoor recreation center in 1958. Currently it hosts about 500 happy campers every summer and events on the weekends.

Greener Pastures Camp

Spend some time away at our small but growing homestead located on 2 acres of pastures, within minutes of Wadsworth Falls, downtown Middletown full of cute shops and restaurants, and local walking/hiking trails. Come experience country life while being close to new places to explore, as well as being centrally located in CT, aka easy to get to wherever you need to go! Dogs are welcome.

Mickelberry Forest Gardens

The meadow we occupy was once the farmers property that  I grew up next to at my parents farm house.
 When he wanted to sell his property he offered it to us for purchase at a fair price if we would not develop more than we needed to live here.
 We maintained the meadow adjacent to our property and have kept it as an agricultural site.
 We have had our son develop an edible forest garden and a unique diversified small orchard so we can eat and share healthy organic fruits and vegetables while helping our environment and wildlife and educating others to do the same.
 It is expensive to live in Newtown but we love our property.
 We want to teach others to grow food from their land while helping to support us keeping our adjacent property agricultural and undeveloped.
 Our property has provided many happy gatherings and events and we love to share it with others.

Hello and welcome we offer a private camping area that’s heavily wooded with some fields small pond lots of wildlife you can explore the property and enjoy good times and make memories we offer horse back lessons and we also do trail rides. No power no water yet whatever you bring in you must bring out. We do have a spot to fill up your water tanks.  If you have any questions feel free to ask. And please let us know the time of your arrival at least a day ahead or the day of so we can be here to bring you to the campsites.

As I look back on the past three years since opening the campground, I’m filled with gratitude. What started as a dream has turned into something so much more thanks to each and every one of you who has stayed here, shared your stories, and brought your energy to this little piece of the outdoors.

I’ve had the joy of meeting people from all walks of life travelers passing through, families on vacation, solo adventurers chasing peace, and seasoned RVers with tales from the road. Whether you’re here for one night or one season, getting to know where you’re from, where you’re going, and the stories in between has been the most rewarding part of running this campground.
It’s not just about providing a place to park or pitch a tent it’s about building a community, even if it’s just for a weekend. The laughs around the fire, the kindness between strangers, and the shared love of the outdoors have made this journey incredibly special.

Bergills Basecamp

Originally a classic New England farm, this property feels secluded and private but is centrally located in Suffield, CT. Our house was built in 1830 and was the original farm manager’s residence. My partner and I are working on restoring it.

In a former life, I owned a hostel with shared bunk and private cabin accomodation in the North Cascades of Washington State.  I love hosting guests of all kinds and from all places! 

We are located just minutes from Agawam MA, The Big E, Six Flags New England, Springfield MA, MGM Casino, Enfield, CT, Suffield Academy, and Bradley International Airport.  We are about 35 minutes to Hartford, CT.

We have a huge backyard with two spots for RVs or camper vans that have self contained toilet facilities : 

-Biscuit's Back Bay: Lower backyard- requires driving down a hill to flat pad to park and then up the hill to depart

-Mapleton Ridge: Upper section of backyard before the hill 

We are working on building an outhouse to accommodate tent and car campers. In the meantime you are welcome to #1 in the woods, but #2 will have to wait until you are at a local restaurant or other venue!

Welcome to Hartwoods, where tranquility meets wilderness in the heart of North Guilford, Connecticut. Nestled amidst a serene wooded landscape, our property offers a unique and private getaway for those seeking respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

For RV enthusiasts, we provide a convenient hookup for electricity and water, allowing you to enjoy modern comforts while surrounded by nature's beauty. While sewage facilities are not available on-site, our serene setting more than makes up for it.

In addition to RV accommodations, we offer the option to rent a yurt and bathhouse separately, providing a cozy and secluded retreat for those seeking a more traditional camping experience.

Nature lovers will delight in the abundance of outdoor activities available right on our doorstep. Explore miles of scenic trails for hiking and mountain biking in the nearby Genesee Trails, or take a leisurely stroll along the tranquil brook that meanders through our property.

Despite our secluded location, we're conveniently close to downtown shoreline areas, allowing you to easily explore the charming shops, restaurants, and attractions of the region.

There are signs at both entrances to the site; one is a blue sign with white lettering in a tree on the left side of the road (going north) and one is a brown sign with  "Hartwoods" with reflectors on a tree (also on left side of the road going north).  There is also a sign at the actual site.  

Whether you're seeking adventure in the great outdoors or simply looking to unwind in a peaceful wooded environment, Hartwoods offers the perfect escape. Come and experience the beauty and serenity of our wilderness retreat in North Guilford, CT. We look forward to welcoming you.

There is a cement block fire pit with grill available for outdoor cooking and enjoyment.  Please be responsible and use proper fire extinguishing techniques, utilizing the provided water hose.  Firewood is BYO.  Any smoking paraphernalia must be disposed of in a responsible manner, as should be all trash.

There are no bathroom facilities available.  Please be aware that you will have to be self-contained, either in your RV or with a camp toilet.  Thank you!

Humble Farm with Simplicity

Bring your family and friends to camp at our quiet and very earthy and modest small family farm. Located in backwoods horse pastures with chickens, a dog, and a few  horses. The property is very spread out and there are 2 outhouses for all sites to use.  Your pets are welcome too!  Locally there are state parks with beaches, and state forest for trails and lakes, hiking and biking. Or you can just relax and enjoy the serenity!

We offer an hot H2O outdoor shower here for the comfort of out clients. It is located on the back of main house in corner.  Entrance through gate is marked. Also See map in photos.

    We cannot allow any wood for camp fires to be brought in form the outside for environmental reasons.  It can be pre-purchased for $12 per bundle on this site, or $10.00 cash here at farm.

 Farm Fresh eggs daily when available for $5.00 per 1/2 dozen.  

Blankets and pillows only are provided, NO LINENS for cabin or trailer sites only.

Garbage removal is available as well $5 per bag provided.

Laurel Ridge Farm

Laurel Ridge Farm is Litchfield's largest estate, a working grass-fed beef farm, and the site of a well-loved tourist attraction that appears every spring: the Laurel Ridge Daffodils.

Guests will have access to a large, flat pasture with easy road access—an open field of about 50 acres where you can roam freely. We do not grant access to the entire property because it is a working farm with livestock and farm dogs, but the guest-accessible field is grand and gorgeous. 

You can also enjoy farm-to-table beef and pork products with a visit to our farmstand in an old converted windmill just down the road. This setting is well known for its elevated outlook, ten-mile views, and stunning sunrises and sunsets.

If you wish to leave the farm and explore the area, you can sample the restaurants and shops of Litchfield County, a country haven that is quickly growing in popularity. Visit the serene beaches of Bantam Lake or Lake Waramaug, or hike through White Memorial’s thousands of acres of nature preserve or one of the many nearby state parks—there are dozens of beautiful spots within reach. 

For culture buffs, visit the Institute for American Indian Studies in Washington, the Historical Society in Litchfield, or the art galleries in Kent. You can also enjoy lively family-friendly events at several local farms during the summer, featuring live music, food trucks, and more.

Take a stroll through historic Litchfield town center (a 5-minute drive) to admire the 18th- and 19th-century mansions and majestic old trees. The charming town also features top-rated shopping and restaurants for every taste and budget—from pizza by the slice to Michelin-starred cuisine. A general store is conveniently located just a mile down the road from our farm.

Hopeville Hideaway RV Park and Campground on Hopeville Pond is a beautiful six month park for recreational vehicle enthusiasts.  Located on Hopeville Pond, our park is near many Connecticut state parks, casinos, coastline recreation and our own pondside access.
