Each tree is beautiful in its own way, but perhaps no trunk is better for squeezing than those in the 200-year old white pine grove in the Whittemore Recreation Area of the Peoples Forest.
One can only hug so many trees, however, so it’s a good thing there are lots of other things to do in the American Legion and Peoples State Forests. The trails that wind through these wooded acres will keep hikers on their feet for days on end. And the waters of the wild and scenic West Branch of the Farmington River attracts kayakers and fishers from all over Connecticut and even neighboring states. With pets
We had such a nice time staying at Mary and Victor’s cabin! We brought our cat with us and we all got to watch the horses graze all day, had a perfect setup for fire and cooking. The bed was super comfortable and we slept amazingly. I would definitely recommend this place to others and we would love to come back and stay sometime soon. Victor and Mary were both extremely kind and welcoming, thank you for such a lovely stay!

Weekend Trip to Humble Farm with Simplicity
Great hospitality from Mary & Victor. The horses were friendly to my dog & I. There are also chickens on the site as well. You can tell a lot of thought was put into the cabin. It’s very homey & cozy.
I stayed for one night and going to stay for more whenever I need a getaway! Recommend. :)
