Welcome to Camp Wilder! We are an off-the-beaten-path camp offering peace and solitude. The cabin is very special to my family and me. It was passed down as a mining claim from my grandmother who founded it in the '60s. The vision for the land was simply perfect. A small 10 x 10 cabin with the whole mountain to explore and whoever they wished to bring with them. The town of Nederland is 10 minutes down the road where you can fish at Baker Reservoir. Lots of fun little stores in town to keep the family busy. Wildlife is everywhere up by the cabin/campsite, always remember don't leave food lying around with lots of great things to look for around the magical town of Nederland. The cabin sleeps up to 8 with the futon downstairs being very comfortable and 3" foam upstairs in the loft for more sleeping area. Bring your sleeping bags to stay cozy at night. There are lanterns inside to light up your night with a wood stove to keep you warm at night. The ground around it is sloped so you may have a hard time setting up any tents around the cabin. The grocery store is in Nederland where you can buy food, Coleman green propane bottles, gallon jugs of water and wood. There is a 3 burner Coleman, stove to cook on with limited pots & pans as well as silverware. Road disclaimer, the road to the cabin is one lane dirt road. The drive up to the cabin is pretty good but the turn onto the single dirt road to the cabin has a slight dip, if you have a low-clearance car it may bottom out when you are turning so be careful. No Trailers. They will not be able to turn around once there. Recommend vehicles with AWD. Go 3.4 miles up Caribou road. Turn right @ yellow stakes go .4 miles. Park on the left. Hike down to the cabin between yellow stakes. We are @ 10,000 feet and it is a slight hike to the cabin. Go 3.4 miles up Caribou road. Turn right @ yellow stakes go .4 miles When leaving please make sure both door locks are locked, put the key in the lock box and mix the code for the next camper.

We loved our experience! We made it in time to peep the fall leaves and also got to experience a beautiful pink sunset. The tent site was large enough to pull our VW van into and gave us room to pop the top. Despite other campers staying in the cabin across the way, it was quiet and we felt very secluded (what we were looking for!). Our two dogs also had a blast and spent a ton of time exploring the woods. 10/10 recommend. Will absolutely be back to both the tent site and are already looking to make plans to book the cabin site soon. Thank you so much for opening up your space to us!

Camping here was absolutely wonderful! From the drive up to the view from the porch, the scenery was gorgeous. The site itself is a bit tricky to find which was my only issue. Kim was EXCEPTIONALLY responsive. I requested a very last-minute reservation and I didn’t expect to hear back in the wee hours, but she got back to me right away. Her communications were clear, concise and friendly. (Note that I am NOT advocating late night requests if possible, now that it’s dawned on me that hosts may be disturbed by request notifications). Point is, Kim was VERY accommodating and I can’t recommend this site highly enough for that. As for the site itself, it was very clean and easily accessible. I didn’t quite grasp the layout from the listing, but the 2 sites are basically together, and are at the edge of their cabin property and close to the road in a mountain neighborhood with large lots and scattered homes. I don't mean any of that as a negative, just explaining the site. It was quiet and peaceful, especially as evening fell. What I liked a lot is you can back into site 1 in a way that you have a lovely private nook with a nice clean level spacious gravel site with a small picnic table surrounded by a grove of aspen trees. You can see houses nearby but they are not too close and the areas between are wooded. It rained and the aspen leaves began falling which is one of my favorite things :) I will say for the sake of transparency that because we love privacy and seclusion in general we were grateful that no one was in site 2 nor the cabin due to proximity. It’s not the deep woods but better than crowded campgroundsin my book! RECOMMEND

Kim’s place is magical. It’s quiet & beautiful & the neighbors are very nice. I walked my dogs several times a day & everyone was very friendly & waved hello. Snake Lake (private) is a close walk away & it is beautiful. Dowdy Lake is a 4-minute drive. Plus, the stargazing is wonderful at this site too. Could see the Milky Way one night! Spot 1 is level & tucked amongst the aspen trees. I hope to camp here again one day. Loved our visit.

From the moment we arrived, it was love at first sight. The drive in was an adventure all its own, winding through breathtaking scenery with panoramic views of the Horseshoe Reservoir below. And once we pulled up, the real magic began. Cody’s RV was everything I had envisioned—rustic charm meets thoughtful comfort. What truly surprised me, though, was the impeccable attention to detail and the well-appointed amenities that made the camping space feel like a retreat. Perched above a million-dollar view, the RV came stocked with fantastic extras: kayaks, paddleboards, and a cozy firepit that lit up our evenings under the stars. This was my first visit to the site, but it certainly won’t be my last. The property was spotless, the experience unforgettable, and we enjoyed every moment to the fullest.

Camp Wilder was a blast! Our group of 9 had a ton of space. It's very quiet and peaceful, fantastic for noisy kids. There is a standard porta-potty 50 ft from the campground. The road is accessible, and it never felt like sketchy off-roading. I'll definitely be coming back!

Booking the whole property felt like a secluded dream! Nights were so quiet and completely private, and it was wonderful letting the dogs roam off leash. The mountain views were unbeatable—especially with the evening fog rolling through. The patio was the perfect spot to watch hummingbirds and soak it all in, and the picnic table made a great place for dinner. We brought our own coffee setup and bedding, but there was a Coleman stove and some handy amenities available. The campsite itself was huge, with plenty of room for multiple tents and several fire pits to enjoy (when there isn’t a fire ban). The porta potty was where we parked our car, so it wasn’t a far walk at all!
