We live on 6.5 acres of stunning forested land located 1000 feet above downtown Boulder. Our property rests on a peninsula with views of the white-capped peaks to the west and the city lights to the east. The property feels far away from the bustle of city life, yet it is only an EIGHT-MINUTE drive to the heart of downtown Boulder's historic shopping district and ten minutes from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Vista Tranquila, the name given to our property by its previous owners, has trails to meander, picnic tables, horseshoes, swings hanging from the trees, a competitive-level trampoline, benches with views, and hammocks. The communal food prep area has a gas grill, a table for food prep, and a seating area. We request that guests pack out all trash. Since we do not provide stoves, pans, utensils, or cleanup facilities, please bring paper towels to wipe off your stoves, pans, dishes, and utensils. A well-maintained portable flush toilet is provided in a tall tent near the main residence. A spigot can be found with fresh well water on the back side of the main residence. We do not offer showers. However, the Boulder Recreation Center (a 10-minute drive) offers showers and other facilities for a small fee. You can enjoy a historic mining town experience with fine dining and live bluegrass/ folk music at the town of Gold Hill which is less than 20 minutes up our canyon. My homestead is located on 4 1/2 acres of pastureland that currently have no animals. You will turn on Powell rd to reach the back portion. The camping spots are located on the back part of the property and along a refurbished shed that includes 1 added 30 amp plug; interior electric, clean well water delivery or hose filling in warmer months as well as a separately fenced area for visiting canines (Please only non-aggressive breeds unless leashed at your camp). My Golden has an invisible fence and is not allowed to visit campers unless permitted. Fires are only permitted and shared on the back patio of my home. Activities for fun on site include corn hole, firepit on lower patio along with a propane weber grill. Only 2-3 mile from Frontier Park and an electric bike ride to downtown to tour the museums, restaurants and shops. Currently, new to hip camp and refurbishing the house and exterior so The Shed will be a working/congregating space with refrigerator/freezer, electric cooktop and indoor space with a fan so folks can escape their cars/vans. Wi-Fi is also available in the shed and the surrounding camp areas toward the building. This was my dream come true property and I'm looking forward to sharing it with road warriors like me. Weather is forever changing here and clouds roll by fast leaving the most fabulous rainbows. I just ask that no fires of any kind be set at your site because the field is a fire hazard in the dry plains.

Really beautiful spot! The cabin is the perfect size and well built. Huge windows overlook the view. You can’t see any neighbors which was perfect for us. Propane firepit was fantastic and Chas was a wonderful host! Very comfortable place - we hope to go back!

Loved this cabin and this experience. It was my first time using Hipcamp so I was slightly concerned. Turns out this concern was for nothing! Chas was great, very helpful, availar and so nice. 10/10 highly recommend. Will definitely be back!!

Top tier stay. The view is spectacular and the cabin was really complete feeling for the size of it. We would definitely come back and recommend it to others. We bumped into the owner and he seemed like a very nice guy too! The wood stove brought us much joy and inspired many ideas.

Weekend Trip to Silent "P" Ranch

The property was extremely beautiful and Shannon was very kind, friendly and accommodating. The wagon was charming and the decor was very inviting. There was even a friendly farm cat that came and said hello to us! The trip felt magical overall. Wonderful hosts, wonderful scenery, and very welcoming.

1 night at The Last Resort

First thing’s first: Jana and Tim are the loveliest, most welcoming hosts. One of my favorite parts of this Hipcamp stay was sitting down with them and enjoying conversation over coffee in the morning before I left. They had great stories and helpful tips for exploring the area by bike, as well as a scenic detour (plus hot springs) as I headed toward my next destination. Beyond this, I had a wonderful experience from the moment I arrived. I caught a beautiful sunset while riding along on the surrounding country roads, followed by a hot shower, and slept soundly under thousands of stars with the distant hum of cows. Had access to a super clean porto right at Camp. I chose a spot behind several rows of trees that Tim and Jana planted almost thirty years ago—the whole area felt private, yet expansive. Can’t recommend this camp, and these hosts enough!!

Dot & Bryon’s place is great! Very peaceful and with everything you need. Dot helped us narrow down things to do and we had a wonderful stay.

The little Burro is hooked up to water and propane. A Bathroom and shower is open for use in the lower part of the house.

Weekend Trip to Hart Family Farm

We had such a wonderful greeting from Sara’s grazing sheep, her dog Yogi and her cat Salty. It took only minutes for my son to join her daughter on the family’s swing-set. We had intended to “glamp” somewhere close to Estes Park, and the Burro fit the bill! The tiny space heater made the camper cozy on the cold nights, and we had access to her walk-in basement restroom and shower (even if we opted not to shower because we like to “rough it” on camping trips). After a day of hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, my 8-year-old could not wait to “get back to the farm”, and spend time with all the animals. Sara’s daughter Rose even treated my son to a riding lesson on a pony for a very reasonable price. We also enjoyed the nearby creek just at the back of her property and an excellent recommendation to a nearby park. Additional perk is that my little loved to pet the animals in the morning while I was getting breakfast or dinner ready. Always something to do at this beautiful location!

Weekend Trip to Apple Valley Camping -RVs and vans

Nestled in a sweet road just outside of town, we still got all the mountain vibes with the convenience of getting quickly to town. Amelia was responsive and friendly. We met her at her tea shop in town and she was personable and helpful. Would stay again next time we are in the area. And the cute wild turkeys roaming the property were bonus!
