The result is a natural landscape of orgone generating dirt. You can feel the energy here. There are plenty of dirt roads around the property for casual strolls and mountain biking... or take a short climb up the sandy incline at the back of the property and panoramic views of Joshua Tree await. This listing is not for the inexperienced camper! Please pack in, pack out all your trash and leave no trace besides footsteps. You will have access to a 12 foot (!!) handcrafted solid wood picnic table, handmade stone fire ring and brand new 24x12 foot wooden deck. VERY IMPORTANT: You must have a self-contained toilet system. Please pack out all your own waste. You will also need to bring your own WATER. Thank you!  4-wheel drive highly recommended but regular cars, RVs, Airstreams have previously gotten to PRIVATE 40 by taking it slow and easy with extra care. If you do get stuck (it NEVER happened before, but just in case)... you will need to call your own towing company. So please be mindful and understand your vehicle's limits. Wake at dawn to see the jackrabbits and listen to the coyotes howl as you fall asleep. Baby quail all in a line may entertain you. The starry nights are glorious here with clear skies most of the time and a lot less light pollution in the desert compared to the cities. Also, we have no surrounding street lamps! Most will find they have good cell service at our location. #NoPowerLines at our property makes for a real wilderness feel, even though we are very close to nearby points of interest. We are VERY centrally located for maximum enjoyment of the surrounding areas.  Distances from PRIVATE 40 Acre Camp by car:  Rt. 62: 8 minute drive Downtown Joshua Tree/Saturday Farmers Market: 11 minutes Joshua Tree National Park (Joshua Tree entrance): 19 mins Downtown Twentynine Palms: 18 mins Joshua Tree National Park (Twentynine Palms entrance): 23 mins Indian Cove: 16 mins PioneerTown: 29 mins Remember, this is the desert and conditions change rapidly. When you park your vehicle, we recommend using it as a wind break when possible. Noise disclosures: sometimes, especially on weekends, you may hear music and party noise from the nearby Bureau of Land Management lands. I appreciated the privacy at David's camp. While it isn't a location for uninterrupted quietude, I found the noises of the area to be mostly unobtrusive. An ATV may rip through the vicinity later in the evening or night. That being said, I would visit again. It's a really beautiful setting. The sturdy table and fire ring make it feel like home.

My family had a great time camping here. It was awesome being secluded and having so much space to ourselves, but nice to be close enough to town if we needed any supplies. There are others camping in the distance on BLM land and you can hear people riding ATV’s in the background, but it was not a bother at all. Having the deck was really nice, as well as the picnic table. We also made good use of the fireplace. We will definitely come back.

We had a pretty good time in David’s campsite. Great views with Yucca trees. The area feels private and secluded. David also is great at communicating and provided clear directions on how to get there. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to spend time away in the middle of the desert.

Location and hosts were amazing. I was looking for a place to get away from it all for a few days and this was a perfect fit. Any vehicle can get there. The sand is compacted enough. I pulled a 21’ travel trailer to the location with no issues. You do have BLM areas nearby but noise levels were low and at night no noise at all. You have an occasional person “lost” drive by but a non-issue. Plan on camping there again, it was an oasis for me and the dogs.

This was our third stay at Deb's Place and it never disappoints! Deb had made some changes to the campsites over the summer and makes me love our site #7 even more! The facilities and sites are always impeccably clean, well maintained, and well stocked. Even with it being 'close' to the rt 247, you still feel like you are a bit isolated but it makes getting down to Yucca Valley/JT easy! Thank you, Deb, for providing a wonderful desert escape that includes all the creature comforts we need!

Campground is convenient to Joshua Tree. Great accommodations (flush toilet, shower, huge outdoor kitchen, all very clean). Deb met me to show me around and was friendly and helpful. There is quite a bit of road noise, but that’s the cost of being close to a main road for easy access to the park.

We really enjoyed Deb's place. 5 of us passing through to Joshua Tree Park. Deb has very nice amenities; cooking area with sink, electrical plug ins for Jackery type devices, hot shower, bathroom. All decorated in a fun and funky style. You can pass through quietly or catch Deb to get a lowdown on the history of the area.

We stayed at Deb's Place with some friends on our way to Joshua Tree NP. Deb has done an extraordinary job setting up the site for guests. She has thought of every detail to make the place comfortable. Everything was exceptionally clean and organized. Deb is also quite friendly and spent some time telling us about things we could do around the area and the history of the region. We were a bit worried about the noise from the country highway nearby but traffic died down in the evening and wasn't a problem. We highly recommend Deb's Place!

I loved camping at Deb's place. We stayed at 2 different sites over 3 days in our VW Vanagon and came away very impressed. Deb's Place has a great (and clean) communal kitchen with a fridge, sink, plenty of space and cooking pots and pans. The shower was instantly hot and a welcome site after long hikes in the desert. Deb was incredibly helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend this spot, especially if you have spent a few dusty days in JTNP and need a little ease and comfort.

We have been using Hipcamp for a while now & this site is one of the best we have stayed at! As others have mentioned, you are able to see additional people camping in front of you & older campers to your right, but the site still feels private. We had no issue with our camper getting to the site. However, a low clearance camper could possibly have some problems. Also, just as a FYI for dogs & kids we did see a coyote in front of our camper on our last morning!

We originally booked Deb’s camp because of the government shutdown, we didn’t want to cancel our trip to Joshua Tree — and it turned out to be such a great choice! The site was peaceful and well laid out. We loved how each campsite felt private and spread out, yet still close enough to feel part of a little community. The bathrooms were spotless, and the communal kitchen was such a nice touch — clean, organized, and super convenient. Deb herself was wonderful, very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. We found out the national park was still partially open, so we spent our days exploring and came back to Deb’s camp each evening to relax under the stars. Highly recommend this spot , whether you’re visiting Joshua Tree during a shutdown or not, this place is a gem!
