I've stayed here a few times. The site is unrivaled. Matt is awesome and accommodating. So close tot he river is a hard thing to find at a reasonable price anywhere. The bathrooms are awesome with quality toilets and showers. The kitchen area at the large lagoon is excellent, and the running water int he sink a lifesaver. highly recommend!

The minute I got up the hill, her pups and peacocks welcomed me! I so adored this hipcamp! The views off from the hang out/eating area are amazing and so peaceful. It was hot, but there is a shower and it cools off in the night. The stars at night were outstanding! Her dogs were so cute and followed me everywhere!

AMAZING!!!! I feel reenergized and could not be any happier. An experience that was a mix of relaxation, pampering and also educational. The farm is peaceful with beautiful Mountain Views, lush gardens and the most gorgeous night starry skies. I stayed in the Art studio. Which was super cozy, with a comfortable bed and a great little walkout porch, to enjoy both my morning tea and stargazing. Taking full advantage of all the possible add ons, that the host offered. I ate delicious farm to fork meals, had the best massage of my life and went on a very informative herb/garden tour. And as if it couldn’t get any better, my visit coincided with a natural building workshop on the farm. This experience made me realize the importance of good food, self care and quiet reflection time. I left Golden Rocks not only with fond memories, but with several farm made purchases. Such as fresh veggies, herbal tinctures and lovely teas. I could go on and on, but I think my point is made. I 150% recommend this stay and hope many others too have the privilege. Thank you Brenda and I will be back for sure!!!

Weekend Trip to Golden Rocks Permaculture Farm

Brenda was absolutely amazing—so sweet and accommodating. I felt at home the moment I arrived on her breathtaking farm. The land offers million-dollar views, and the balcony of the art studio overlooks a serene valley, with neighboring horses, goats in the distance, and mountains all around. At night, the sky is incredible for stargazing right from the deck. Brenda also offers a $12 farm breakfast, which I sadly missed—but I highly recommend taking advantage of it. The farm cats were adorable and so friendly. The art studio itself was clean, cozy, and incredibly comfortable, with a kitchenette, fridge, and AC. Waking up to views of horses and mountains from the kitchen was magical. As someone who studied sustainable environmental design, I appreciated the creativity and function of the compost toilet—it felt like the Wild West meets eco-innovation. Brenda’s other handmade structures, built from recycled materials, look like charming adobe cottages. It’s also just a short hop to Harbin Hot Springs. If you’re looking for a peaceful, beautiful stay with a kitchen and stunning views, this is it. The moonlight across the farm was pure magic. I loved walking under the stars, listening to the night sounds, and greeting the horses. I’m 100% coming back. Please book with Brenda—she’s truly lovely, and you will absolutely enjoy your stay. It’s a peaceful, magical place you won’t want to leave.

Weekend Trip to Golden Rocks Permaculture Farm

Had the best stay with Brenda! Note: this property is in Middletown, not Lower Lake like the app says. I wanted to find a quiet place for a weekend getaway near Harbin Hot Springs, and I’m so lucky I found Brenda’s property. She’s so lovely and welcoming, and had excellent communication throughout my stay, from calling me before I got there to give me local directions (you should follow her directions, sometimes Google Maps will lead you astray) to giving me tips for local hikes, hot springs, things to do in town, etc. She offers a bunch of services to her guests for a fee: I personally bought a tincture made from wild-harvested herbs from her farm, which she thoughtfully prepared a homemade tea to go along with, and also ordered a farm-fresh breakfast that she prepared with vegetables harvested from her garden/the local farmer’s market. It was truly one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. Brenda herself is a well spring of knowledge about permaculture, the land, and knows so many people in town; I found her interesting to talk to and easygoing. I would highly recommend staying in the farmhouse as it’s more of a cozy house vibe, with access to the kitchen and the bathroom right next door, but I will definitely be back to check out the Art Studio and camping grounds. She has two kitties that are the sweetest, and the neighbors own a variety of animals like horses, goats, dogs that you’ll see when you drive in. Thank you Brenda!

Weekend Trip to Manzanita Camping & Co

Manzanita camping (Lagoon Site) was a perfect spot for our large group of 35. The kitchen area with running water was greatly beneficial. We brought extra tables but did not need them with all the extra counter space in the kitchen area. It made cooking and cleaning a breeze. There is no clear view of the river from camping site unless your on the far right of the lagoon site. Unloading was kinda a thing because of the elevated parking lot. Matt was super cool to let us pack up on the access road that runs through the lagoon site. My recommendation is to ask to unload and pack up on that road. Matt was able to hook us up with two propane pits for our large group. Though it was hot we used it. Couple of complaints was the portable got full pretty quick with 35 people and bathroom/showers got dirty quick and could use some attending too. There is one door/handle that had our friend stuck inside for 20min plus until another camper heard her banging and came over to open the door. Would definitely recommend this spot and definitely plan on returning. Thanks Matt

Raven’s Landing is a fantastic and magical place to reconnect with nature and yourself. The views from the dining deck are beautiful and so are the ones from the camping spots. Layla and her puppies were great hosts, and helped our city dog Hopper get a little bit outside of her shell. Make sure you come with a car that can handle dirt mountain roads and enjoy this magical place!

We had a lovely time camping at Raven's Landing with a group of 5 friends. We thought maybe we'd travel off property to the swimming hole nearby by ended up lounging, playing games on the outdoor table, cooking meals in the outdoor kitchen and hanging out by the pond watching the tadpoles and clouds float by. Very relaxing weekend -- though the sweet farm dogs and roaming peacocks kept things lively!

We had an amazing stay at Manzanita camping co! We rented out the whole property for my birthday including the large lagoon. The large lagoon was an amazing large campsite. We used it as our primary hangout space due to the proximity to the water and the large kitchen. Having a sink with running water to wash dishes was such a nice perk, as well as the propone firepits at each site. The site was right by the water so we listening to the sound of rushing water all day. There is also a convenient path from the campsite up to the beach. Matt was such an accommodating and responsive host. If we needed anything, he was there! All of my guests could not stop talking about what a great find this property was and how we already want to plan a trip back. Thanks Matt for everything!

Her artful and thoughtful design of the space, whether the tent pad or shared communal space made me feel giddy with delight. No joke. And I'm pretty sure my urban dog thought she was the heavens. Originally thinking this was a conveniently located spot to break my road trip, I left realizing this would be a destination on future trips.
