Wendy, John and their pup Louie were wonderful & welcoming . Wendy had a hearty soup ready on our arrival that we enjoyed at our campsite at the edge of the forest . The camping area is a large grassy area perfect for our pup to freely run around . Great beach access .

This campsite is in a really remote location with level ground that made setting up easy. The hosts were available, friendly, and helpful without being intrusive. We were honored to be welcomed into their beautiful private paradise. The swimming hole was magical. Really beautiful and refreshing. We had a hard time leaving and are already talking about booking another trip back.

We really enjoy our stay in Wayne’s Property, especially the kids and also thank to his wife’s Delicious Chocolate chip cookies, the kids loves it. Wayne and his wife greeted us and give us instructions about our campsite when we arrived, location is very nice, it is surrounded with trees in the middle of the mountain, plus the swimming hole is a bonus. We will recommend the campsite to our friends and we will be back!!

We had a wonderful experience! We went to the beach for sunset and watched the seals. The tent was spacious, the soup was delicious, the firewood bundle was plentiful, the bathrooms were clean, and the coffee and fresh baguettes were an incredible welcome in the morning. Wendy and John were kind, welcoming, and hospitable. Thank you both.

Wendy and John are the best hosts and we will absolutely be back! Tucked away behind a beautiful old farmhouse is the most peaceful clearing for camping. Because we opted into the amazing menu options, Wendy had soup, bread and cobbler warm and ready upon arrival. Absolutely recommend because NOTHING is better than homemade food after a long camping journey and everything was DELICIOUS. The campsites are spaced out enough that we felt we were alone, and the firewood was dry and plentiful. An amazing Hipcamp find!

I absolutely loved my stay at tent site #12. It was the perfect combination of feeling surrounded by nature in a large private camping space, but also with very easy access just a short walk away to an amazing hot shower and other fun amenities like a game room and cute campground store. The campground was pretty full while I was there, but there was never a wait to use the shower and it never felt super busy. I saw lots of very happy families enjoying their time there. The campground hosts are helpful and very nice people, I definitely would come back!!

We love our stays with Patti. Our site had a full hook-up. The grounds are well maintained and easy to maneuver even with our 35 ft. fifth wheel. Patti is a wonderful host. You will come as a guest but leave as a friend. Her camp hosts are also very friendly. We spent time with Mike by the campfire. He provided us with numerous great suggestions on places to visit in Oregon. This is our second visit but not our last!

What a fantastic place to stay! Lots of things for the kids to do around camp and the tent spots were separate from the Rv / trailer spots. I hate tent camping on a baron spot designed for trailers. Add to that no generators and I was able to tent camp and not even know there were trailers just around the loop. Also, the folks who run it were super awesome! I just can’t say enough! We will for sure be back. Please try to keep tent spot 15 open for us ;-) lol

Cute spot just off 101. Site 7 is good size (especially if you have a large tent). Tons of options for hiking nearby and other day trip ideas.

This is our second summer to return to Animal land, a beautiful place to unplug, reset with nature and close your eyes to listen to the river. We look forward to our third summer next year! Ken is a one of a kind host. Very thoughtful, kind and accommodating to the guests at Animal Land, thank you again Ken for a nice camp set up. Several animal and bird sightings during our stay, we are full of gratitude to get to experience a glimmer of river life at Animal Land.

Weekend Trip to Mystic Forest Campground

Our time at Mystic Forest ended much too soon! The campground is gorgeous, with a wonderful walking trail that goes across the back of the property. Our site, #8 was phenomenal with the walk through redwood tree that a small bird calls home was incredible! The tent sites feel secluded and tucked away in the trees. Should find ourselves close to Klamath again, we would love to be back. Thank you Patrick!

Wendy & John were such hospitable hosts and the actual site was gorgeous and quiet. Showers were hot, other guests were respectful, and John baked lovely warm bread for us on the first night. We loved camping here, and one hundred percent recommend that others try it out too. Ferndale itself was a quaint little town, and a wonderful exploration, with lots to do and see. It was a fabulous time staying here, all in all!

Surrounded by towering trees in the heart of Redwood National Forest and just a few minutes from the Pacific Ocean, this is a true hidden gem on California’s North Coast. We offer a rustic, old-fashioned camping experience. It’s a mix of open field and scattered trees, with both RVs and tent campers on site. Neighbors will be nearby, but the vibe is quiet and relaxed—especially in the off-season, when you might have the place nearly to yourself. The Klamath River is just over the levee—a short walk from your site—with great access for fishing, swimming, or simply relaxing by the water. The river is world-famous for salmon and steelhead fishing (license required). August and September are peak fishing months, so expect a few early morning engines from folks heading out. We’re only 4 miles off Highway 101, far enough to enjoy peace and quiet without traffic noise. Wildlife is part of the experience here, so please stash your food at night to keep critters out of camp. Outdoor lovers will find plenty to explore nearby—hiking and biking trails, the Trees of Mystery, Jet Boat Tours, and, of course, miles of redwood forest to get lost in. A few things to note: Firewood available Cell service can be spotty, depending on your carrier. Free Wi-Fi is available and reaches most of the campground. Electric car charging is $10 per charge. Please arrange ahead of time—50 amp service is limited, and you’ll need your own adapters. Well-behaved pets are welcome. Kids and laughter are always welcome. My aunt and uncle bought the property in 1947 from its first European settler, Paolo Gabrielli, who immigrated in early 1914 from northern Italy with slips of his grapevine in the lining of his coat. (The grapevine still grows over the back deck.) What can you expect? Quiet, beauty, birdsong, ocean roar, widely spaced campsites (only 5 on the 5 acres set aside for camping). Free firewood, local tips on travel and where to hike or what to visit. Or total solitude. Bring your (most non-cattle-chasing breeds) dogs if you wish (males must be neutered). Starlink internet. Walk to the beach of our wild ocean along a no-shoulder country road. We have no visible neighbors, no ambient light or sound. The air is clean and clear and the water is potable from an artesian spring on the property. No electricity at the sites and no generators allowed. (Charge your electronics at the farmhouse.) We offer homemade soup, cobbler, fresh bread, morning coffee as extras; you can order with the booking. The Victorian village of Ferndale is three miles east, as is a beautifully maintained 110-acre town wilderness with hiking trails called Russ Park. A 150-year-old cemetery slopes down a hillside & is filled with 19th century charm and history. Shops and restaurants welcome visitors. There are several bars/a wine bar/and a historic saloon that's as old boy as it was in 1890. A music venue in a restored 19th century church has amazing acoustics and attracts international talent as a top-notch venue (sessions are filmed for PBS) midway between Portland and San Francisco. So, it's a mix of town and country, village and farm, wilderness and bewilderedness. Safe, safe, safe, meaning: you can leave your belongings in your site and when you come back... they're still there :) We welcome the world.
