On the property there are Beautiful quartz Beaches and small pools for kids or pets to play in! Also the gravel in the creek is gold bearing, pans and mini sluices can be used to recover fine gold!! keep all the gold you find! This creek is very beautiful and not only does is contain gold, gorgeous water worn crystals have been found also. There are many walking trails to explore on the property that can be used as atv or dirt bike paths. Shady madrone groves right next to the creek offer a cool place to camp while still being 2 wheel drive accessable! This place is wonderful base camp to spend time at the yuba river or hike in the mountains.

This was the most fun quick getaway for our families! Exactly as described, beautifully maintained property, incredible hosts. High end blankets and towels, very clean dry flush toilet, and so many cozy seating options. My kids loved the welcome shed, and there were too many thoughtful personal touches to mention. The location is incredible. we explored grass Valley and Nevada city, both had a great selection of well appointed shops and restaurants and were less than a 15 minute drive from the property. We can’t wait to come back in the summer!

Although our trip was just a short evening experience and we had to return home earlier than planned, our time at the dome tent was unforgettable. The setting provided complete privacy, breathtaking natural scenery, and incredible star gazing that made the night feel magical. We also loved the chance to feed the pigs — such a fun and unique feature of the property. The host was exceptionally communicative and responsive, making everything seamless despite our brief stay. This was my favorite hipcamp experience so far! There are so many small details that made a big difference: toys and treats for the dogs, paddleboards for everyone to play and lounge on, sunscreen and towels, a very comfortable bed and senior dog approved dog beds, the list goes on! It was the perfect way to spend a hot summer weekend and we can't wait to come back to this little paradise on the creek.

We had a great stay at Joe's property. The kids loved tent camping, swimming, and exploring the area. Grandpa enjoyed the creature comforts of the tiny house, especially the AC and mini-fridge. The propane grill worked great and the tiny home had all the kitchen items we needed (e.g. cutlery, pots/pans, grill tongs, plates/bowls). The natural pool in the creek is beautiful and refreshing on a hot day. It's well worth the hike. We look forward to returning!

Wonderful camp site, fun drive to the location (not suitable for low cars), accommodations were comfortable, and everything was clean. Shower has low water pressure BUT it was still awesome! Camp stove worked great (be sure to bring all of your cooking stuff). Unfortunately the fridge was only for two night stays and we almost had a horrible experience if we didn't bring ice. I suggest you bring a large ice chest to hold everything food related or else you'll be stressing!

This is perfect for a weekend getaway with your dogs and the hosts have everything perfectly setup for you. Just bring food/drinks (+ personal items) and doubt you would need much else. The electric grill has grill/smoke/bake/reheat/etc functions which offer a wide range of easy meal options. Or make it really easy and go to some of the nearby restaurants, options range from fine dining to burgers. Berries grow along the creek (would be great for pancakes!) where we spent most of our day. The luxury of 2 stand up paddle boards, a kayak, plus other large floaties was like no other vacation rental we’ve stayed. I don’t think we’d change a thing…

Fun and relaxing little spot with all entertainment you and your pup could need. Enjoy floating and splashing in the creek, lawn games or just sitting by the propane fire pit. We had a great time with my elderly dog playing and napping. Access to the bathroom is in host's garage, so you are basically in their back yard, but they gave us our privacy and every detail was thought of. There is also a little road noise so if you are looking for silence and solitude this may not be the place you're looking for. We didn't mind and much appreciated everything that was provided making our stay easy and relaxing!

2 nights at Perfect Getaway with Private Creek

I love camping on Joe’s land with my pups! It is so spacious and well cared for. We did a lot more exploring this trip and found the creek and additional trails I’ve seen mentioned. Talk about gorgeous! Definitely appreciated the tiny home having the air conditioning unit when the day warmed up! Also tried out the outdoor shower and let me just say… it was relaxing and felt amazing in the warm sun! We tried out the disk golf and lounged around in the hammock. Overall, it is just a great area to chill, relax, unwind and let your dogs run free.
