We are exceptionally cautious with camp fires. If it is particularly hot and windy, there will be no fires. We now have a gas fire pit where you can create smores or just enjoy the campfire ambiance. Price is $175 for the Flying Pig (up to 5 total). Another option (as an add-on): you can pitch a tent for $45. "The Flying Pig" has a queen bed, bunk beds twin size, and a loft with a twin mattress, all bedding included. You are not just paying for a place to sleep; you are paying for an experience and the enjoyment of our property :-). We serve a continental breakfast (free) or hot breakfast ($35/cabin) between 8-9am. (we can accommodate vegetarian and dairy free diets; let us know before you come). We provide bedding and towels. There is A/C and a plug-in heater in The Flying Pig. Please do not bring additional things to plug in except for chargers for phone/electronic devices. We are approximately 1 1/2 hours south of San Francisco, 30 min south of San Jose (without traffic). Gilroy Gardens is 15 min away; Harvey Bear County park is 1 mile away; Monterey and Santa Cruz and the Pinnacles National Park are approximately 1 hour away. We are here in Gilroy Ca, on a rural 2 acres just outside of town, further up our road is Coyote Lake to go boating and fishing and Harvey Bear park to go hiking and horse riding. Santa Cruz is a 45 min drive West over hwy 152 and San Jose is 30 min North on 101 and keep going a bit more and you will be in San Francisco. Here at home we raise several different kinds of lives stock. Goats for meat and milk, Sheep for meat and wool and eventually milk, Pigs for meat, Rabbits for meat and hide, Chickens, Ducks and Quail for meat and eggs. We have a garden and small orchard with nearly a dozen fruit trees of different kinds : loquat, a few apples, plums, apricot, peach, fig, persimmons and my favorite the pomegranate! We process everything ourselves using ancestral techniques and love to share and learn with others. Id say the main draw back here is the traffic noise but beyond that, We are quite lucky to have very a green and Id say an oasis of a property, with multiple large palms trees surrounding the pool area and a large weeping willow tree in the main yard/sheep pasture. At the NE corner of the property is a very large oak tree, it is majestic and with the tipi door open to the East the big oak is the first thing you'll see every morning besides the suns rays! The entire Northern property line is rowed with 60ft tall redwood trees and there are a smattering of citrus trees around to boot! The freezer is stocked with in house meat, the BBQ is hot, the pool is cool, come relax after a day on the trails!

A home away from home, this hidden little gem is a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of the cities. Still located conveniently close to businesses of all kinds, including multiple downtown areas, HWY 17 and 85, 1 mile from Netflix. We are constantly working on our cottage style gardens, so there will always be gardens to enjoy for you. If you are interested in trying any of our homegrown veggies or fruits, just let us know. We love sharing our bounty. :) The space An actual hidden cottage tucked into a space full of vegetable and flower gardens. A six-chicken coop also runs the length of one side of the yard. There's also a private patio area to relax and unwind. The cottage is cute and simple, with an attic-like staircase leading to the upstairs bedroom. Enjoy your privacy in this unique and quaint space. P.S. This space may not be the best suited for elderly, disabled, or very young guests. Guest access The entire cottage is all yours, with a private entryway. We have an open patio area just outside the cottage with outdoor seating and tables. There is also a charcoal barbecue available upon request, as the hosts may be using it. It is a great spot to sit and unwind while watching and listening to the chickens, watching the sun set, and gazing. The garden area is shared with the hosts. Other things to note You, as our guest, always have privacy in the indoors of your space. The outside areas are mostly shared between my family, pets, and our guests, but the outdoor patio is all yours(we only access this when guests are present if we need to do some yard work). Enjoy yourselves, and be wary of doggies when pulling in the driveway! It is an in-laws quarters type house and shares one wall with the main house of the property. The door that connects the homes is completely sealed off and inaccessible to both parties. Please keep in mind that this is not a space suitable for very young, disabled, or elderly guests, due to the attic-like staircase mentioned above.

We had a wonderful stay! The campsite is located right on top of the mountain, and the views are absolutely beautiful. It was peaceful and the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. The campsite also has a fire pit and a shared BBQ area, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Waking up to the mountain views was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. We had a great experience overall and would definitely recommend this place. We’d love to come back again!

This sweet space is the perfect getaway, and so fairly priced for the comforts and beauty! Arriving was easy, the space was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and the outhouse was even equipped with a stand-up toilet, TP, water, hand soap, mirror, and light -- better than most portapotty experiences. The tent stays very cool, never directly in the sun, with beautiful sunrises, sunsets, and stargazing. You do get the beauty of dozens of different morning bird calls, and nighttime crickets -- only thing is there was a mechanical buzzing sound that would go on and off nearby every hour or so but nothing too bad. There is a quaint lunchtable for unloading quick meals from summit center grocery. Solar powered timed outdoor lights. Ample comfy clean blankets and spots to rest/unwind. And within driving distance of essentially anywhere you'd want to visit in the santa cruz mountains. A very thoughtful responsive host too, and very dreamy comfortable glamping experience, will definitely try to make it back here again thank you Shelly :)

We really had the perfect stay in the Frodo & Bilbo 'cobbin'. We felt so welcome, along with our dogs, and everything was clear - from check-in to check-out. Leaving us with no stress and a truly relaxing experience. What was most impressive was the attention to detail in the design of the cobbin, it really was beautiful - the pictures barely do it justice. The whole site was very well thought through, with enough amenities and comfort without being overdone. The bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen and bathrooms were of a high quality. Last but not least, Yenyen (+ her dogs!) is a very considerate, practical host. Looking forward to another visit!

We had an absolutely incredible stay at this Hobbit hideaway! The hosts were incredibly accommodating and kind. All of the facilities are brand new and absolutely beautiful, it felt like a luxury experience! As a Lord of the rings nerd, I was happy to see all of the little nods to the novels and movies. This was absolutely the most memorable birthday of my entire life, and I don't say that lightly! There were even llamas and other animals on the property that made the experience really really fun. The outdoor kitchen was very well stocked and made it feel like a home away from home. I truly did not want to leave!!

7 nights at Sacred Owl Land

I cannot recommend SOL more highly. My husband and I were in Monterey for car week and rather than stay in a hotel with the crowds, we opted for a quieter accommodation outside the city. We had the perfect mix of relaxation while being close enough to drive to many local activities, parks, etc. We are really grateful that we chose to stay here. The Sky View camp was super cute and included all of the basic amenities that we needed. And the views were outstanding - we were in awe of the misty fog that hung over the valley when we woke up and looked out the beautiful large windows in the mornings! The nighttime views were just as spectacular. Lastly, the hosts were spectacular! Very nice and offered many great recommendations. I would love to return and stay here again!
