It's so nice to "meet you" my name is Taryn and my hubby's name is Anson. We are parents to two-year-old twins, so saying we have our hands full is an understatement. Anson is a folk and blues musician and has traveled
all around the U.S. playing his music and I work for a children's book company. One day, we decided that we wanted to live the rest of our lives hosting live music, and events and that's how Rock & Tree began. As the idea grew, we wanted to create an Open Canvas so that the guest could dream up what they wanted on our stage. We moved to the Inland Empire from Santa Monica, in 2017 with the dream of building an open canvas event space out of sustainable, re purposed and natural materials. Our mission is help enrich the culture of Perris, CA by providing a unique venue that takes you away from the hustle and bustle and takes you to a wonderland of nature surrounded by rocks and eucalyptus trees.
Anson and I continue to build everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family every now and again. Our process is that we source as much lumber using the dead Eucalyptus trees we have here on the 36 acre property and we are constantly trying to come up with innovative ways to use recycled and donated materials in the venue. During the pandemic, we turned our venue into a campground so we could open up the venue to people who needed to get out into nature. We are now open for daily camping and private events. Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation.
Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers.
Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 150+ foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Over 40 miles of coastline includes views to Point Loma, the Carlsbad power station, and the Pendleton Hospital. To the northeast are views of near 11K foot snowy peaks of San Jacinto and San Gorgonio, with rolling hills of De Luz and Fallbrook in the foreground.

For those who are coming to Temecula for horse shows, we also have a large barn with bedded stalls and turnouts (for an additional fee). There are designated horse trails right outside our gates which will even take you to Galway Downs and California Ranch Company. If you're into golf, you can enjoy Temecula's 7 PGA golf courses or Pechanga Casino which are also within a short driving distance to the farm. If horses or golf isn't your thing, you can visit Temecula Valley wineries which are all ~ 1/2-3.8 miles of the cottage gates. The wineries are not within walking distance of each other, UBER is only too happy to come here and pick you up! If you're not interested in any activities and simply want a "staycation," you can hang out here where you're welcomed to walk around the farm and interact with the animals. At night, enjoy the sounds of serenity.

*Guests will be given a security keypad code that must be entered in order to gain access to the driveway that leads to the left towards your private tiny home on the hill. Private entry and parking for 2!
*Guests will have exclusive full access to the 1 bedroom home, expansive deck with outdoor eating area, BBQ, fire pit, hammock, and jacuzzi.
*We take the approach of being hands off on the property unless needed, so do not plan to visit with us in person during your stay (unless there is an issue that needs to be addressed) - we want you to feel like you have the home all to yourself!
*NO PARTIES/ EVENTS/ GATHERINGS. MAX OCCUPANCY observed on property. Limit of 2 guests MAX. Please do not book this property if you are looking to party as you will be asked to leave with no refund.
*There is plenty of parking along our spacious unpaved driveway leading up to the home and it is secured by our private security gate.
*Quiet time is 10pm- 7am (music off, voices down)

If there is ever an issue with the spa or fire pit we can refund you this $35 spa & fire pit resort fee. Pets are not allowed in the hot tub.
*Guests arriving after dark: Twin Oaks Valley road is not well lit (due to no street lights). Proceed slowly with headlights on. Address is posted at the entrance. *Smoke detector - I will be notified if there is smoking inside the townhome ($200 fine) *Minut – sound detection at high decibels – I will be notified at 85 decibels during regular hours and over 70 decibels during quiet hours. If it gets very loud you will be notified too. We cannot hear what is being said, just measured sound decibels.
*Exterior Cameras- Security gate, driveway and front door- audio & visual recordings activated by motion sensor and in place for safety measures.
*Special note after the COVID-19 Crisis: Protecting each other’s health and safety is very important to us. We are doing our part in keeping our vacation rental as safe as possible to prevent any spread of any disease/illness. While most guests (and your hosts) see the idiosyncrasies and obvious cohabitation with animals and bugs beautiful, you may not. If your primary focus is on amenities, and you're looking for a completely dust/dirt, cobweb/bug, and animal/animal sound free experience, a working farm is probably not a good fit for you.
We are dog friendly, but to keep our free range animals safe (and we have had them injured or killed by people not recognizing that dogs are predatory by nature), please keep your dog easily under control and on a short leash at all times. Also, because it's not possible to control your dog on a long line, dogs may NOT be tied or tethered anywhere on the property. For the sake of the antique furniture, do not leave your dog alone in the cottage unless they are crate trained and in a crate. If you want to let your dog off leash, 2 blocks down our road (and off property), there is a large scrub field where you can let your dog run free. Thank you for supporting this 501c3 charity where all the revenue goes to support the animals and the large number of dogs we foster from high kill shelters.
This booking is for the Hay Barn cottage located at Namaste Farms in the heart of Temecula's Wine Country. This is a beautiful and quiet (with the exception of animal/farm sounds) private working farm situated down a wide and maintained disintegrated granite/dirt rd. While the cottage is only 1/2 a mile from the city limits, it has a rural feel and is centrally located to all wineries and most of the major equestrian facilities including Galway Downs, Green Acres and California Ranch Company. For those who are coming to Temecula for horse shows, we also have a large barn with bedded stalls and turnouts (for an additional fee). There are designated horse trails right outside our gates which will even take you to Galway Downs. If you're into golf, you can enjoy Temecula's 7 PGA golf courses or Pechanga Casino which are also within a short driving distance to the farm. If horses or golf isn't your thing, you can visit Temecula Valley wineries which are all within 1/2-3.8 miles of the cottage gates. The wineries are not within walking distance of each other, and if you want to peruse all of them, we can arrange a driver for you (30.00/hour) who will drive (Jaguar) and take you anywhere within Temecula/Murrieta while happily waiting for you so you can quickly go to your next destination. If you're not interested in any of the above activities and simply want a "staycation," you can hang out here where you're welcomed to walk around the farm and interact with the animals. At night, enjoy the sounds of serenity while roasting marshmallows at our wine barrel fire pit!
The "Hay Barn" cottage is a studio with high ceilings, a beautiful stained glass window, a kitchenette and a rustically chic bathroom. The Hay Barn sleeps 3; one queen bed with a twin pull out. Please let us know ahead of time if you need the pullout and you MUST put the accurate number of people who are staying here. If you have more people in your group and don't want to share, please check out the main cottage, Hammie and the Treehouse in separate listings.
Please keep in mind that we are not a "pretend farm" set up to simply attract people to our facility. This is an actual working farm where shepherdess, Natalie Redding (Nat Geo Wild's, Shear Madness) and her working dogs, Lacey, Lad and Nesta work every day. This means there is dirt, dust, chickens, peacocks, alfalfa, sheep, bugs, and other living beings associated with nature and farm life. People who've not had the opportunity to experience the beautiful and grounding life on a working farm may not understand this. I do stress that if you're an animal lover who is excited about staying at a true working farm, your co-guests may not share your verve. Please let them know there is dirt, dust, very little concrete or pavement, and they will surely leave with dust on their shoes. That said, I'm a frequent Louboutin wearer and I regularly chassé in my stilettos; dirt ground and all.

Our mission is help enrich the culture of Perris, CA by providing a unique venue that takes you away from the hustle and bustle and takes you to a wonderland of nature surrounded by rocks and eucalyptus trees.
Anson and I continue to build everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family every now and again. Our process is that we source as much lumber using the dead Eucalyptus trees we have here on the 36 acre property and we are constantly trying to come up with innovative ways to use recycled and donated materials in the venue. During the pandemic, we turned our venue into a campground so we could open up the venue to people who needed to get out into nature. We are now open for daily camping and private events. Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation.
Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers.
Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 150+ foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Over 40 miles of coastline includes views to Point Loma, the Carlsbad power station, and the Pendleton Hospital. * Fire Pit: Feel free to cozy up around our fire pit, but remember to do so with caution, especially when a child is present—safety first! Additionally, please be mindful that our fire pit's propane usage is monitored. Guests may incur charges for any loss of propane if the fire pit is left unattended for extended periods. *The Den resort fee covers spa maintenance, cleanings, and propane for fire pit use. If there is ever an issue with the spa or fire pit we can refund you this $35 spa & fire pit resort fee. Pets are not allowed in the hot tub.
*Guests arriving after dark: Twin Oaks Valley road is not well lit (due to no street lights). Proceed slowly with headlights on. Address is posted at the entrance. *Smoke detector - I will be notified if there is smoking inside the townhome ($200 fine) *Minut – sound detection at high decibels – I will be notified at 85 decibels during regular hours and over 70 decibels during quiet hours. If it gets very loud you will be notified too. We cannot hear what is being said, just measured sound decibels.
*Exterior Cameras- Security gate, driveway and front door- audio & visual recordings activated by motion sensor and in place for safety measures.
*Special note after the COVID-19 Crisis: Protecting each other’s health and safety is very important to us. We are doing our part in keeping our vacation rental as safe as possible to prevent any spread of any disease/illness. NOTE: Namaste Farms is a true working farm with copious amounts of sheep, goats, chickens, peafowl, and countless other animals. Along with those, we have free range squirrels, rabbits, flies, dust and yes, even free range spiders. If you're wanting a rustic experience that gives you a break from city life and you can handle dust, dirt, cobwebs (and these can happen over night inside your cottage and WILL be in the common areas), with sounds of animals vocalizing at all hours of the day and night, then Namaste Farms is a perfect fit for you. While most guests (and your hosts) see the idiosyncrasies and obvious cohabitation with animals and bugs beautiful, you may not. If your primary focus is on amenities, and you're looking for a completely dust/dirt, cobweb/bug, and animal/animal sound free experience, a working farm is probably not a good fit for you.
We are dog friendly, but to keep our free range animals safe (and we have had them injured or killed by people not recognizing that dogs are predatory by nature), please keep your dog easily under control and on a short leash at all times. Also, because it's not possible to control your dog on a long line, dogs may NOT be tied or tethered anywhere on the property. For the sake of the antique furniture, do not leave your dog alone in the cottage unless they are crate trained and in a crate. If you want to let your dog off leash, 2 blocks down our road (and off property), there is a large scrub field where you can let your dog run free. This booking is for the Hay Barn cottage located at Namaste Farms in the heart of Temecula's Wine Country. This is a beautiful and quiet (with the exception of animal/farm sounds) private working farm situated down a wide and maintained disintegrated granite/dirt rd. While the cottage is only 1/2 a mile from the city limits, it has a rural feel and is centrally located to all wineries and most of the major equestrian facilities including Galway Downs, Green Acres and California Ranch Company. For those who are coming to Temecula for horse shows, we also have a large barn with bedded stalls and turnouts (for an additional fee). There are designated horse trails right outside our gates which will even take you to Galway Downs. If you're into golf, you can enjoy Temecula's 7 PGA golf courses or Pechanga Casino which are also within a short driving distance to the farm. If horses or golf isn't your thing, you can visit Temecula Valley wineries which are all within 1/2-3.8 miles of the cottage gates. The wineries are not within walking distance of each other, and if you want to peruse all of them, we can arrange a driver for you (30.00/hour) who will drive (Jaguar) and take you anywhere within Temecula/Murrieta while happily waiting for you so you can quickly go to your next destination. If you're not interested in any of the above activities and simply want a "staycation," you can hang out here where you're welcomed to walk around the farm and interact with the animals. At night, enjoy the sounds of serenity while roasting marshmallows at our wine barrel fire pit!
The "Hay Barn" cottage is a studio with high ceilings, a beautiful stained glass window, a kitchenette and a rustically chic bathroom. The Hay Barn sleeps 3; one queen bed with a twin pull out. Please let us know ahead of time if you need the pullout and you MUST put the accurate number of people who are staying here. If you have more people in your group and don't want to share, please check out the main cottage, Hammie and the Treehouse in separate listings.
Please keep in mind that we are not a "pretend farm" set up to simply attract people to our facility. This is an actual working farm where shepherdess, Natalie Redding (Nat Geo Wild's, Shear Madness) and her working dogs, Lacey, Lad and Nesta work every day. This means there is dirt, dust, chickens, peacocks, alfalfa, sheep, bugs, and other living beings associated with nature and farm life. People who've not had the opportunity to experience the beautiful and grounding life on a working farm may not understand this. I do stress that if you're an animal lover who is excited about staying at a true working farm, your co-guests may not share your verve. Please let them know there is dirt, dust, very little concrete or pavement, and they will surely leave with dust on their shoes. That said, I'm a frequent Louboutin wearer and I regularly chassé in my stilettos; dirt ground and all.

This campsite was absolutely amazing! The views were breathtaking—peaceful, scenic, and the perfect place to unwind. The site felt very private, which made the whole experience even more relaxing and special.
The host was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. One of the highlights for our family was the animals—such a fun and unique touch! The kids absolutely loved interacting with them and didn’t want to leave.
Overall, it was a perfect getaway for both adults and kids. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We had the best time at Splitrock! Huge campsite, bathrooms, fire pit etc- everything we needed. The baby goats were the highlight for sure. Woke up to the goats roaming through our site. Would definitely stay here again, especially if we were looking for a place to camp with a large group.

This was an amazing place to camp! We had a short visit for a retreat with around 100 people, and Benjamin and his team were extremely attentive and helpful. It was a beautiful place, the bathrooms were clean and nice! We were visited by the goats and dogs, they were so awesome! Absolutely loved this campsite, would highly recommend!

The Rock Bottom campsite at Split Rock Farm was a bit more private than the other sites and arguably has the best ocean views Southwest over Camp Pendleton and Fallbrook. The fire pit area is excellent and there’s plenty of room for a large tent across the road at the tent site. No one drove by the entire time we were there even though the campground was busy. Hanging out on top of the rocks was fun. It’s going to be hard not to pick this site again!

The Oak Grove was a really fun stay. We chose the meadow area this time, and the view was gorgeous with all of the grass and clover growing in. If you are wondering about the sites in the meadow, the ground is free of debris, making it okay for you to drive on to get your site comfortable. The flushing toilets all over camp are clean and functional. It is great to be able to wash up in the hot showers as well. I love seeing all the new developments at camp every time I come. There is now a horse and a cute donkey on the property. The roads are a little rutted due to the recent storms, but the roads at Splitrock are regularly maintained and graded, usually after the storm season has passed. Still, most any 2WD vehicle can drive on the roads just fine. Please remember to leave your sites the way you found them or better. Thanks again, Ben and Splitrock.

When to go
Newport Beach is a fun place to visit year-round, with mild winters and hot summers, but most people come here between July and August, when the temperatures are at their most ideal for swimming, though it’s usually hot enough to get in the water well into September or even October. If you want to beat the crowds, come in the winter, when the surfing conditions are at their finest. This is also the best time of year for spotting migrating whales.
