We have lived on the farm now for over 21 years. The back part of the property was a stop point for the stage line between Oroville and Bangor during the 1880, Then gold was discovered on the property. There were multiple Gold claims on this property. The Old rock pilings are still there to explore. It is a favorite spot for finding Jasper, some Agates and quartz. Campers are welcome year-round to this tent site on the old Gold Claim of our 20-acre family farm! Drive right up to this fun-filled, family-friendly campsite, easily accessible by cars and SUVs alike - though 4WD is helpful during the rainy season. This site features two seasonal streams that cross on the property, as well as bushes full of ripe blackberries - if you catch them at the right time, help yourself. You'll enjoy hearing the birds echoing through the trees and could easily see deer tip toeing through the woods. Dogs on leash only. We raise 4H and FFA show and market goats, llamas, and a donkey and a cow, all of whom are very friendly! You'll also see our chickens, ducks, peacocks, and guinea hens. Rock pilings are on the island between the two seasonal streams that cross our land. Gold panning, hiking and creek walking is available on the property. Campers are welcome to stargaze in the field, create scavenger hunts for the kids, or simply sit back and enjoy the tranquility. The streams dry up in late June and fill up in November when the rains start. Trank Family Farm is 30 minutes from Lake Oroville, 20 minutes from Oroville Wildlife Area and the Feather River - great for kayaking, swimming, and fishing! We enjoyed our time at the camp. Robert was really awesome with showing us to the camp site and making sure we had everything we needed. The animals were so sweet. Be careful driving on the gravel roads if you have a low vehicle. The speed limit is 15, but in our Prius we went probably 5 mph.

Mary from Personal Creekside Camping was a gracious, kind, and informative host at our recent Hip Camp stay. Ideally located next to a relaxing creek loaded with blackberries, it was spacious and shaded. Her camp is ideally situated near Penn Valley and about 20 minutes from Grass Valley. The sky is dazzling with stars! Mary shared her experiences and recommended local spots to check out. Mountain Ranch Winery is a mere ten minute drive and if you don’t stop by to taste and engage with Bob, well you’ll miss out on a local gem and enlightened conversation. Be sure to check them out. The valley and surrounding area is full of friendly people, nature, culture, and great food. You won’t be disappointed with Mary and her property.

We had a great stay at Joe's property. The kids loved tent camping, swimming, and exploring the area. Grandpa enjoyed the creature comforts of the tiny house, especially the AC and mini-fridge. The propane grill worked great and the tiny home had all the kitchen items we needed (e.g. cutlery, pots/pans, grill tongs, plates/bowls). The natural pool in the creek is beautiful and refreshing on a hot day. It's well worth the hike. We look forward to returning!

I love camping on Joe’s land with my pups! It is so spacious and well cared for. We did a lot more exploring this trip and found the creek and additional trails I’ve seen mentioned. Talk about gorgeous! Definitely appreciated the tiny home having the air conditioning unit when the day warmed up! Also tried out the outdoor shower and let me just say… it was relaxing and felt amazing in the warm sun! We tried out the disk golf and lounged around in the hammock. Overall, it is just a great area to chill, relax, unwind and let your dogs run free.

Our family loved camping at Mary's property, indeed my son said this was the best camping ever. Mary and her son are the best and also the nicest! The spot is private, located in a lovely neighborhood kids can bike around safely, it has a beautiful view and the relaxing sound of the water running it's course on the creek. We were able to connect travel trailer to water hose and electricity, under the shade of tall trees. There was a portable potty, trampoline, firepit, volleyball court, playground, picnic tables, and chairs, all for our use! Farm fresh eggs and bundles of wood were just a great addition! Downtown Grass Valley is close by (driving distance), Yuba river too, and pump track park only five minutes away. I would highly recommend Mary's Land!

Joe’s land is well kept and beautiful. Grandma stayed in the tiny house and we pitched a tent with our 10 year old and 2 dogs. The house had a nice bed with bedding and tons of pillows. Grandma approved. Cool loft area that our son loved hanging out in. The kitchen had all the basics for simple cooking and dining for a small family including a French press with coffee. There was a hot plate, kettle, and mini fridge. We didn’t use most of the amenities as we weren’t sure what was available and brought all our gears including a portable fridge. But next time we’ll know! The property itself is super cute and nicely groomed. Fenced areas with plants and walkways, outdoor shower and tub. We used the outdoor shower over the one inside, it’s awesome after sitting around in the heat. You can drive down further off the site to the river area. It was a bit sketchy for grandma to go further up the water but there’s plenty beautiful spots to sit and enjoy. There’s no shade and may not be suitable for swimming for young kids but worth the amazing rock formation and mini waterfalls. It’s magical. There’s a path down the creek from the house and it was perfect to hang out and swim. It’s a small area with shade and the running creek flows into a little pool where we had water floats and swam. Book this place, it’s great for all level of campers!

Wow what a perfect spot! The tiny home is comfortable and had everything we needed. The AC works, the bed is big enough for two plus some room. There’s a loft space for storage This home has enough space and amenities to cook comfortably and has a room to eat and relax. My partner is 6’3” and fit with no head bumps or cramped feelings. There’s a local market less than 10 mins away, and it’s only 20 mins away from downtown Nevada City. This spot really is the perfect mix of being in nature and close to anything you’d want to do. The property is gorgeous and totally private. The outdoor tub was quite the treat as well. If you're looking for a place to unwind, this really is the spot. Joe was attentive if we had any questions. 10/10 would recommend, we’ll definitely be back.

My stay in the Tiny Home was fantastic, just what I needed to relax and recharge. The home has everything you need and pleasant decor. The bed is super comfy, with down pillows and comforter. The creek running through the property is what really made my stay great. It’s beautiful! It surprised me to see two other tiny homes on the property, which were unoccupied. Still, I hope to stay here again!

The tiny home was situated perfectly on the property. It made the trip feel very private. As avid campers, this site had everything you need to "glamp". We paid extra for the canopy by the river, which was totally worth it. We took our backpack cooler to the river and enjoyed our day. The water felt great on a hot day. At night, the tiny home's AC was a plus to sleep comfortably. The outside shower was also amazing. We hope to come back!

We offer off grid RV camping in the forest right off Foresthill Road, here you can experience the view of the Crystal Butte Mountains. Additionally, we offer close access to dirt bike trails. You can hike our 55-acre farm, ride mountain bikes, or even bring your horse for trail riding. We have a communal fire pit meaning - all campers are expected to share the one fire pit we offer. All roads on the farm lead back to the campground. What does off grid RV camping mean? Well, that means we have no power or water hook ups. We do have potable water access. You are more than welcome to bring your own generator if you please. Quite hours from generators and campers are from 10pm-8am Are Dogs welcome? Of course they are welcome the are family. All we ask is for them to be leashed at all times and no poop bags are allowed on the farm. Their poo helps fertilize our trees as nature intended. However, please clean up after your pets in the camping area and please take it with you when you leave. Don’t feel like cooking while your camping? No worries we have restaurants in town that would love to serve you. Lastly, the farm has no trash cans or dumpsters on site. We are a "pack it in pack it out" farm. History of the snowy peaks- the Wilson family started the Snowy Peaks Farm in 1979. When you camp with us the tallest trees you see are planted from the original family. Snowy Peaks opened the gates for choose and cut Christmas trees in 1984. Since then, the property has had 3 owners: the Wilson’s, Armstrong's and now the Jones family who are continuing the tree farm legacy. Over the years we have HAND planted (yes hand planted) well over 30,000 trees to make up for every single tree we sell during the Christmas tree season. There is a trailhead at the top of overflow boat parking for a public swimming hole on the lake. On our property, we have a main house with its own private facilities such as a kitchen, shower, and bath. On the land, we have 9 total unique cabin and canvas tent structures converted into boutique-like campsites. We have an epic outdoor entertaining kitchen and patio with an outdoor pizza oven and a little dog rinse behind the outdoor shower. The bathhouse is right across the way and provides a private but shared guest shower house, tub and sink. Like anywhere in the woods there is an hour at sunset when you may have mosquitoes down near the sites in the spring and some of the summers depending on the year. We have a natural spray for that or fans in the kitchen. Off the path, you may find poison oak in the thick of the woods. So please stay on the marked trails.

This property lies at the base of the Sierra Mountains, approximately 9 miles north of Doyle, CA on the west side of US Route 395. Access to the ranch road is from US Route 395. Its elevation starts at 3800 feet and rises higher than 5,000 feet. The lower half is rolling high chaparral and the upper half is steep with forest land that was burned in the 2021 Dixie Fire. There are still plenty of live trees left. This ranch lies in Deer Hunting Zone X6b. Lassen National Forest is on the west boundary of this ranch, with a gate that allows access to the national forest. The 395 Ranch boasts incredible views for nearly 75 miles. The ground is primarily decomposed granite so mud never becomes a problem. Wind can be strong when weather systems approach. The campsites are very basic with no toilet facilities (at this time) but water is available for cooking and washing dishes. An outdoor enclosed shower is available as well. At this time (summer) the water is naturally warm from the pipe’s exposure to the sun and hot water from a flash heater will be available in the near future. Tents can be erected almost anywhere on the property, but campfires are strictly prohibited until the rainy/cold season. Water and an electric hookup is available next to the barn for RVs and travel trailers at an additional cost. Sewer service is not available. There is also an older but nice three-bedroom, one bath home that is also available for short term rentals. It is heated during the winter by two wood burning stoves and cooled comfortably during the summer with a swamp cooler. The rent for this house is based on the season, ranging from $169-$229 nightly plus extra fees for pets or more than three people. Visitors of the past have found hiking, looking for artifacts and rocks to be fun activities. It’s also been an amazing place for stargazing and using telescopes. Others simply enjoyed relaxing and enjoying the peace, quiet and views. High quality campfire wood is available for $12.00 a bundle.
