Encompassed by Tahoe & Toiyabe National Forests, this Alpine Valley rolls across 10,000 acres at approximately 5,500 feet with towering mountainous peaks on three of its sides rising above 8,000 feet. A meadow with creeks and wildlife lines the Valley floor. Depending on location, distant peaks in the Sierra Nevada Mountain range rise into view. The private and secluded Camp sits at the edge of the meadow on 40 acres. It offers multiple sites for vista viewing, camping and fire pits set along two seasonal creeks. Available for one camping party's exclusive use, basic camping comforts include picnic tables, metal and stone fire pits, and an out house with a view. Follow the lower creek out from the Camp into the meadow and Valley floor to find a damned swimming hole. Off-road vehicles, dirt bikes, hiking, fishing, water sports, golf, skeet, and the like are available at or near the Camp, as is LTE cellphone and data services. Alpine Valley Campsite is a short distance to Reno, Truckee, Stampede and Boca Reservoirs, and Lake Tahoe. It is located approx. 4.5 miles from Stampede Reservoir, 5.4 miles from the Truckee River in Verdi, and 17 miles from the Boca Reservoir and Truckee River in Truckee. Host highly recommends 4x4/AWD vehicle OR at least 7" of ground clearance, driving slow on dirt and rocky roads (approximately a 25-minute drive from entrance of Toiabye National Forest-Verdi, CA entrance at 5-10 mph), and experience with pack-in, pack-out camping. Detailed welcome letter with local destinations, GPS coordinates, Valley map and links provided upon booking. Nightly rate is for up to two campers; any camping party is limited to eight (8) campers and each additional camper is assessed a guest fee of $44/nt If you'd like to collect wood from the property, simply purchase a bundle of wood when completing your booking. Quail Ridge RV Park has 17 acres nestled in the Plumas National Forest. We do NOT have direct water access. We are surrounded by four lakes, with Sly Creek and Lost Lake Reservoirs being the closest (about 3 mi. north of us), two major rivers and Feather Falls, the 3rd largest waterfall in California. Outdoor activities abound with fishing, swimming, boating, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking trails and mountain biking trails. You can also explore the local rivers and try your luck at gold panning. Our park is primarily divided into three areas: (1) we have 7 dedicated RV sites for weekend RV's that have full hook-ups, which include 30/50 amp. electric, water and septic connection (no pull through sites); (2) an area in the middle of the park where permanent residents live; and (3) a large area for volleyball, lounging, and playground on the opposite side of the park. Sorry, but due to the always present fire danger, no wood burning fires are allowed. You may use your own propane fire ring or propane or charcoal grill. We have clean laundry and showers and flush toilets on the north side of the park. There is one shower and one flush toilet for each men and women that are handicapped accessible. Showers cost $1 for 12 minutes of hot water. Cell phone service is spotty. AT&T/Cricket and sometimes Verizon work the best. We now have free Wi-Fi in the park! Quail Ridge RV Park is very pet friendly, and we have a beautiful new dog park for our 4-footed friends. However, we cannot accept aggressive breed dogs, or Pit-Bull mixed dogs (sorry, but our insurance company restricts these breeds). Please identify the dog breed when you are making a reservation. Camp WAN-NA-B is a great place to get away in the forest. Property backs up to the national forest, walk to Bear River. Learn about off grid living and camping, water systems and compost toilets or just enjoy your time in the forest. A great place to star gaze. There are many great places to hike, take a dip in the Bear River or just relax by the creek and unwind from the city life. Just a short walk to the Bear River. A small stream runs right through the property. You may even book the stream site to enjoy it close up. A very short drive to Emerald Pools, Lake Spaulding and South Yuba River. Truckee or North Shore Lake Tahoe just 30-40 minute drive for a day trip. There is also a great eatery just up the road, right off Highway 80, if you are interested in a lunch out. What ever you came to the forest for, it is all waiting for you at Camp WAN-NA-B at Bear Valley., forest therapy! This area is know for gold panning and we are located right down the road from a historical gold mine, Donner Mine Camp. This land is new to Hipcamp. This land is being shared for the first time and owner has been enjoying it for over 20 years. Forget the crowded campgrounds, come share a little piece of paradise right in the forest.

Weekend Trip to Quail Ridge RV Park

Our first time using hip camp and camping in this area. We have a pop-up trailer and two dogs. The hosts are wonderful. The bathroom is spacious and clean with good water pressure. People respected the quiet hours. There were lots of trees and shade. We left for the majority of the day and nothing that was left outside or inside our trailer was touched. We would stay here again.

Weekend Trip to Camp WAN-NA-B at Bear Valley

Great area..lots of trees and shade. Fun to be more off grid and away from a traditional campground. Host,Lorrie, is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area for places to hike wander and play in the river. Very much in line with outdoor ethic and leave no trace concepts. We will definitely return for a longer visit.

We had a great experience on our recent camping trip! Pamela, our host, was incredibly helpful and kind throughout our stay. She gave very clear instructions, which made everything easy to follow. Even though we arrived quite late due to the holiday traffic, she was extremely patient and accommodating. Her warm hospitality really made a difference and set the tone for a relaxing getaway.

This place is located in the plumas national forest. It gives the feeling of lost in the woods with the perfect privacy. It has full hook ups and is very peaceful and there are several lakes around the area to adventure to with beautiful clear water. We definitely will be coming back!!.

The campground was very quiet and in a beautiful tree. This campsite is made up with 60% Full-time RV. They had great wi-fi connection and a great dog park. the camp is about 15 miles from Lake Collins Lake and another small lake.
