This is an extremely quiet spot with access through a private gate. It is a one minute walk from The Gateway Hiking and Biking trailhead and right on the way to Bunny Flat and further up the mountain. I do not have bathroom facilities, but I do have electricity and water. There is a covered cold water sink available to wash face/hands/dishes or to obtain drinking water. Winter reminder: We live at 4,000 ft and it is cold in the winter. There may be snow and you may need to do a little shoveling ( snow shovels are on property). Your vehicle should have all winter tires or chains, the campsite is not on a paved road and the site itself may not be plowed. The water to the cold water sink is shut off in the winter to avoid pipes freezing. There are no streetlights; we live in the country. There ARE lights at the property entrance gate.

Furnished with a full-size bed, an outdoor sink, basic kitchen amenities, and a shower and a potty, the space is perfect for the solo or duo traveler. Located about 4 miles east of I-5, it's a peaceful and safe "pit stop" for those traveling the I-5 corridor. One beautifully landscaped acre with a goldfish and tadpole pond, waterfall, large grass area and view of Mount Shasta from some areas. This is my private home. This is an extremely quiet spot with access through a private gate. It is a one minute walk from The Gateway Hiking and Biking trailhead and right on the way to Bunny Flat and further up the mountain. I do not have bathroom facilities, but I do have electricity and water. There is a covered cold water sink available to wash face/hands/dishes or to obtain drinking water. Winter reminder: We live at 4,000 ft and it is cold in the winter. There may be snow and you may need to do a little shoveling ( snow shovels are on property). Your vehicle should have all winter tires or chains, the campsite is not on a paved road and the site itself may not be plowed. The water to the cold water sink is shut off in the winter to avoid pipes freezing. There are no streetlights; we live in the country. There ARE lights at the property entrance gate.

Weekend Trip to The Goat Shed

I had the loveliest time in the goat shed. The space is small but well kitted out with the basics, like battery powered lights, a propane stove, water, dishes, towels and extra blankets. But when I arrived, I also found some extra treats, like nice lotion, oracle cards and hot water left out so that I could make tea when I arrived on a cold night. Johanna couldn't have been nicer. I will 100% come back the next time I'm passing through.

Great little spot. Its on someones property and while they respected our privacy, it did feel a bit like you were just in someones yard. The view of shasta was amazing. Great for anyone stopping by thats fully camping in vehicle.

This was the perfect place to stop over on our trip down to Yosemite. Very close the highway, easy to find, and our spot was pretty level. The hosts could not have been nicer! Johnathan and Wes truly cared that we were enjoying our stay and made sure that we had everything we needed to make us comfortable. The majority of the park is full-time residents, however we felt safe and it was very quiet. We would stay here again if passing through the area. Bonus: the laundry room was very clean and the washer/dryer actually worked very well! No extra time needed for our load of towels - which is always an awesome surprise!

5 nights at Old Lewiston Bridge RV Resort

I liked that i was the only tent camper ....well until my last day there. There was a bathroom very close to my tent site and a shower that you don't have to pay for....that's a plus. The signal is bad put they give you a wifi code for the office and club house and they are just a few minutes walk from the tent sites. And the club house seems like a nice idea for people that come with kids, because they have a TV and different types of games in there. I came in beginning of October, so it got a little cold at night, but since I travel with a heater it wasn't bad at all. Oh, and there are deers galore ....so cute. I frequently heard the birds flapping there wings. And some mornings I would hear the rooster 🐓 from a little bit away and that would be my alarm clock ⏰️. Overall, if I would head this way again camping I'd probably revisit.....it was peaceful.

1 night at Old Lewiston Bridge RV Resort

After another nearby campsite was too steep and muddy for my motorcycle, I went to this place that I passed earlier. They closed the office at 6pm, but there was a "Ring" button for after hours. I used Hipcamp to reserve at 7pm, then pressed the Ring. The owner kindly signed me in, he is a fellow motorcycle rider, then led the way to the sites. There is a separate bathroom and shower for the tent sites, fire rings at each tent site, and a small trailer made into a Recreation Room with a couch, kitchenette, refrigerator, and games. On a chilly day, the heater was welcome. There is a deck and outdoor kitchen behind the office. There is wifi available. The site has more growth potential as it is next to a river full of fish. The summer months are popular for fisherman there. I enjoyed the camp and would use in future trips.
