Steve and his family are such great hosts! So fast to respond and very informative. They have a radio or you can also text for any requests such as fire wood, toiletries, utensils etc. We really loved the pool area! The water is warm enough to jump in anytime. My kids didn’t want to get out. Kitchen and bar area is clean and spacious for big groups. We all took turns cooking on the propane grill or charcoal. Water is everywhere for your needs. They have a few refrigerators for your food and drinks. They provide 3-4 outdoor bathrooms for campers. Super clean and maintained. The lodge is also nice and has that cabin feel to it. For those who don’t want to sleep in tents it’s ok. The fun is only 2 mins away walking distance! I suggest bringing your bikes, their space is endless with a dirt bike track. At night they have lights everywhere. My friends and I brought our dj devices and played music until 11pm or so. If you can party longer, feel free to party until the curfew, 2am! Such a great find, I will shut up now. Go book this place and enjoy your time here! You won’t regret it!

We had a wonderful camping trip here! We loved the views and all the animals! Gathering eggs, the baby animals and showering outside were highlights. Jeremy was even kind enough to jump our friend’s truck when it wouldn’t start on the way out. Thanks for all the great memories!

Weekend Trip to Wondernut Farm

I would recommend this place with some caveats. - Bring your own shampoo etc and towels. This is not an Airbnb. Treat it like a camping trip with nicer amenities, and you won’t be disappointed. The shower structures were lovely and smelled like cedar, but yes there are spiders. - Expect dust. The common kitchen is an open structure and we visited during dry season - things are dusty. But it is equipped most things you’d need - pots, pans, knives and such - and fresh well water. - The number of occupants in the listing are absolute MAX if you put sleeping beds on the floor. It’s not the number of people that can sleep on beds. Each unit has one bed, and two people sleep comfortably. This isn’t what we expected, but they were able to set up cots so our kids can sleep. - The Lookout is an open structure and it does get quite cold at night. They have blankets but bring extra. We had a great time here - the animals are so sweet and we got to see their milking process in the morning. The bathrooms are clean and the back opens to the field - it was a unique experience I never knew I needed lol! Again, if you pack like you would for a camping trip, you’re set and will have a wonderful visit.

Michelle and Steven were so easy to communicate with and very responsive. We loved hearing the birds' songs in the morning light and falling asleep to the stars. We brought tents for outside sleeping as well. But the comfort of the bed in the cabin was much appreciated! There are so many games available and a great fire pit with seating. The outdoor shower is awesome! And the kitchen is more stocked than many rentals we've stayed in. I'd say that the cabin/property was just a bit closer to the road than I expected, but it didn't really bother us. And there are visible other houses/properties fairly close by. Again, was not an issue for us, but just wasn't expecting that. The property is peaceful and beautiful. Thanks for being so accommodating Michelle and Steven!

Had a great time. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Small cabin was very comfortable and clean. We did get lost in the last 2 miles in since gps was not that great but quickly found our way.

We had such a relaxing stay!The host Bobby was so kind and responsive answering questions quickly and offering great local tips.The hot tub was a major highlight.At night,the stars were unbelievable— no city lights just a sky full of wonder!

The property is a wonderland. So much space and so much to explore. The pool area was the centerpiece, newly redone pool liner, clean water. We made use of the charcoal grill although the gas grill came in handy for some things as well. There are numerous other cooking plates and such. Ample shade made it very enjoyable in the heat of the day. Firewood was provided and that was amazing for hanging out later at night when it got cold. The lounge looks a lot better than the photos, a lot of sleeping space and found the beds very comfy. The hosts were super friendly and I enjoyed the walk throughs. Would love to book again!

Mac was so welcoming and outgoing. He made me feel comfortable during the stay. He asked what our plans were and gave us extra sites to see! Rainbow pools was one he suggested and it was only like 20 minutes away or closer on the way to Yosemite! The toilets and bathrooms were okay but all worked!

Our 3 night stay with our two little boys couldn't have been better! We had almost everything we needed, and the things we didn't were already mentioned and came along with us. The boys found all the bugs and brought some extra dirt home with them. Absolutely would recommend for some country relaxation by the fire. Bring that mosquito spray though! 10/10.

From the moment we booked, Bobby was an amazing host—warm, attentive, and super communicative. He knew we wouldn’t have signal, so he made sure to be there right on time to guide us in. When we arrived, he gave us a full tour and made it clear everything on the property was for us to enjoy. We felt welcome and at home every moment. The open-air kitchen in the forest is pure magic, and it has everything you could ever need, from pans to spices. One of our favorite moments was connecting to his Spotify and playing our music while cooking under the trees. There’s always a fire going— perfect for s’mores, deep talks and stargazing 💫 The place is incredibly dog-friendly🐶 We have two Australian Shepherds who were allowed off-leash the whole time. They had the best time! During the day, we hiked and explored. At night, we soaked in the jacuzzi right outside our room—perfect temperature, peaceful vibes. Before leaving, Bobby recommended Silver Lake to continue our adventure. And something really special—he helped me find a nature souvenir (a beautiful branch!) for my travel tradition. Truly one of our most memorable stays. We’ll be back! Thank you, Bobby.

We enjoyed our stay at Ric and Mimi’s guest house. The place was spacious, the bed was comfy, and the goats were super cute. Quiet, restful, refreshing. Just what we were looking for. We will come back!

We enjoyed our stay on Noleen and Jobe’s beautiful land! The cabin next to the chicken coop was comfortable. (Be sure to purchase some fresh eggs!) The flush toilets and well water felt like luxuries for camping in a remote spot. The highlight was swimming and hanging out at the river all afternoon!

We spent a long weekend at Malaina’s and loved every minute of it! We enjoyed the outdoor shower and hot tub, drinking tea by the fireplace, and waking up to birds chirping outside the cabin. This land was home to the Miwok, then European and Chinese miners, then a cattle rancher. It was also home to a former nun who quit the dominican order to purchase this land for inner city kids to have a chance to ride, swim, hike and fish. We moved here in 2017 and purchased this land with the main goal to raise our large family here, but we have found that good things must be shared! There is NOTHING like being in the wilderness of this area for a good re-centering of the soul! We have found it to be a true blessing for our family, and we hope you can experience this blessing as we share this space with you. We feel certain you will not be disappointed with our beautiful river canyon. Our property is situated right on the middle fork cosumnes river. We have 2 sleeping cabins and several tent sites (can be rented separately). The cabins offer a rustic/minimalist type vibe - bring your own bedding/pillows to sleep on the comfy futon. A table and chairs are provided for the cabins. Tent sites each have a wood table (bring your camp chairs) and a fire pit when the season is open for burning. The swimming is awesome and the stars at night will put you into a state of awe! In the area there are many family owned wineries in the area, most of them offering free tasting! It’s a short drive to Tahoe and the Marshall gold discovery site as well as the historic hangtown Placerville. We are happy to make suggestions for local hiking areas, like the Devil's Slide "Gorge" only a 15 minute drive but like a trip to mini Yosemite. The Caldor Fire was VERY close to our property and a back burn was initiated nearby the cabins (litererally 200' away!). It is still as beautiful as ever but please know there are lots of slash piles. Falling trees and burned up stump holes are also a risk and it is presumed campers will be cautious and use at their own risk. We ask campers to use our property only for land use and river access, NO up or down river access is permitted AT ALL. Please don't hesitate to shoot us a message if you have any questions!

Every room is light and bright. We back up to open forest where you get a sense of privacy. A private hillside with provided sleds allows kids many hours of fun. The large kitchen is well stocked. A complimentary bottle of wine awaits you. We are very close to Spicer SNO park and Bear Valley Ski resort. The space The home contains three bedrooms (2 bedrooms + loft) and sleeps 6 comfortably. NO STAIRS! The driveway pulls right up to the front door. We are one of only a few properties that have no stairs to navigate to the front door. HANDICAP-FRIENDLY Our property is handicap and elderly friendly! There is a queen room on the entry-level floor making it easy for handicappe or elderly to enjoy the house without climbing stairs. Access to the great views from the backyard deck also requires no stairs or steps. Elderly individuals will find the home easy to navigate and vacation in. Wondernut Farm

Wondernut Farm is an upstart, entirely off grid, working farm-stead being built from the ground up. We breed milking goats and sheep, heritage pigs, and are in the process of converting to a grade A dairy and creamery! We use organic practices, management intensive rotational grazing, and dryland pasture management. We sell our animals locally so that others can have their own milking and meat animals. Our 110 year old hay barn and the roof of the former lumber mill were all we had to work with in getting off the ground. Being first and foremost a functional farm, we can't help but offer a somewhat warts-and-all look into everything it takes to be working to our goals. Our hearts are, and always will be, educational and local community focused, and we work closely with farmers and friends alike in better understanding our innovative animal husbandry, power, pasture and water systems. Whenever we have time, we'll afford the same time and opportunities to interested hip-campers. Our location is stunning and historic, and the beauty of the wild, natural landscape is powerful, yet offers easy access to both Yosemite Valley and the San Francisco Bay area. The area features excellent road and mountain biking in the immediate vicinity, vast access to hiking and backpacking trails, a huge variety of rock climbing in the area, the best whitewater rafting in California on the Tuolumne River, with some tasty places to eat or drink coffee in the nearby town of Groveland, just 10 minutes away. Accommodations at the farm are certainly rustic, and private but not secluded, with occasionally heavily project-exploded shared kitchen and living space, showers, and airy flush toilets. Do be advised that animals are pooping, hammers are hammering, sometimes we need to look into a health or animal injury related issue. Sometimes there is blood in an animal birth or slaughter, and our working guardian dogs have been known to be noisy some nights. Water and electricity are both very limited (though we reuse all our water), waste must be carefully sorted into a number of different categories, and there is always evidence of ump-teen projects unfolding at once. The most difficult condition during much of the summer are nuisance flies, which are always gone at night. We have almost no mosquitoes or ticks. Depending on the exact situation and time of year, guests may have the opportunities to snuggle with baby animals and run our herd to or from pasture, and maybe even get their hands dirty picking veggies in the garden.

Sage (named for our beloved 15 year old lab who passed) is a conveniently located property right on Highway 88 in Pioneer, California. Warm and inviting, Sage is a relaxing, modern spot for people heading up to Kirkwood for skiing or for nature, lakes, and fishing. Our place offers a fully operational commercial style communal outdoor kitchen, a small stage, huge redwood, slab dining table, and 14 acres of camping area. It also offers a beautiful 8 foot stock tank hot tub with the freshest clean snowpack water. So clean that it shares an aquifer with Crystal Geyser bottled water. These are all communal spaces. Please keep this in mind when booking, and be prepared to meet some great folks. Be kind to one another and enjoy the experience. We are on the backside of Murphys, Arnold, and Angels Camp if you like to explore wine tasting and stroll around. It's about a 30-minute drive on back roads, but you pop up right in the heart of Murphy's and have nearby parking behind Main Street. Our town Mountain Ranch has Saturday afternoon craft fairs, occasionally car shows, farmers market, etc. Small historic sites are nearby in Cave City, Mokelumne Museum, and old town San Andres with a Saloon and a performing arts theater. In the evenings, gather around the fire pit and bring out the movie projector and grill on either the propane or Weber.

Guesthouse or Glamping Gold Country

We have owned our 20 acre ranch for 12 years. We enjoy the peace and quiet and beautiful views surrounded by oak trees. We love hiking down to the river. Very private; seldom do you come across other people. Amador brewing, Solid Ground brewing and the world famous Poor Reds are about 30 minutes away. Learn more about this land: Renovated guesthouse on 20 acres in the gold country. 1900 feet elevation. 30 minute hike to the Consumnes River, with beaches and swimming. Great sunrises, sunsets and stars. Mountain biking available. Rock outcroppings for climbers. About a 30 minute drive to numerous wineries and the foothill towns of Plymouth and Placerville. The kitchen has a vintage stove with four burners and two ovens, microwave, toaster oven, and sink. You will also have access to a full size refrigerator. Outside is a propane bbq with two side burners for your use. There is one bedroom with a full bed and in the living room is a trundle bed that converts to two twins. We have installed hardwood laminate flooring throughout guesthouse; some of the pictures show the prior cement floor. There is wifi, Verizon and At&t get good reception. We use our phones for internet and streaming. There is a 50 inch TV and dvd player. Bring your own hardware/cords if you want to stream from your phone. We have goats if you would like to feed or with. My wife and I live on the property in a house about 200 feet away. You will have as much privacy/interaction as you desire. Our garage is attached to the guesthouse, so I may need to access it occasionally during your stay. We also travel so you may have the property to yourself. We do have two dogs on the property. The Australian healeris very friendly. The Anatolian shepherd is a watch dog so he will bark at you upon arrival and then settle down and leave you alone. You may hear him barking at night at any moving wildlife (deer, turkey, etc.). There are two cats living in the attic of the guesthouse, which may or may not bother you if you have cat allergies. My wife has cat allergies and the cats don't bother her. The last 4.5 miles of the drive to the property is on a winding road. Please drive carefully.

All wood inside: tongue-in-groove pine ceilings and walnut paneling, large wood-burning stove which has three flat places to cook. Dining on resin-topped circular table made by designer of first chair-lift in Squaw Valley.
