The best vacation rental in Nevada City!
Creekfront designer cabin on 8 acres with hot tub. The creek is year-round and perfect for dipping. Seclusion in nature yet 4 minutes to downtown Nevada City, and 15 min to rivers and lakes.
There are 4 bedrooms in the main house and an optional separate studio to rent. The main house has two bedrooms with king beds, one bedroom with a twin bed and a twin air mattress (if needed), and a room with a queen murphy bed. This allows 8 people max. There are 3 bathrooms.
For 9-11 guests, or if you just want extra space for a smaller party, you can rent the separate studio for $170/night plus $125 cleaning fee, plus tax. This is discounted from our regular rates. The studio is beautifully renovated with a queen bed, full kitchen, bathroom, and living area with sofa for a child or young adult to sleep on.
You have complete reign of the 8 acre property, including the hot tub, and private creekfront park with gazebo, fire pit, and horseshoe pit. Sometimes we rent out a studio on the property (or you can rent it-- see details above), but studio guests do not have access to acres of the property that are just for you. If you want total privacy, we can block out the studio from being rented for an additional $80/night, or you can rent it for $170/night plus $125 cleaning fee plus tax (see details above).
Pack and play, twin air bed, and dining table booster seat with tray are available. Please request the air bed before you arrive, and bring your own sheet for the pack and play. Air bed is usually needed if 8 guests are staying in the main home (if studio is not rented).
It can snow occasionally in the winter-- only about 10 days per year between Dec. or Jan. through March. Sometimes we can plow the driveway for longer-term stays. If not, you will either need snow chains and/or a 4WD vehicle to access the home. But-- we are happy to offer a more flexible cancellation policy for winter guests-- please just ask at the time of booking.
No parties or events, and please ask if you want to invite anyone to the home who is not in the guest count at booking.
We love dogs! Please just confirm at time of booking that your pup will not go to the bathroom in the house or chew any items in the house.

I had an incredibly rejuvenating time at the Scotts Dear Lodge! Krysten went out of her way with little gestures to make the space feel clean, comfortable, and inviting. A home away from home, if you will. It was also incredible waking up with a cup of coffee while it snowed outside! The kitchen was fully stocked with all the supplies you would need to prepare a nice home-cooked meal for yourself, and the wood-burning stove was also a highlight! I recommend this spot to anyone looking for a trip for a small family, couples, or solo adventurers! Don't miss out on this charming spot

The cabin is just like my home with the usual amenities, yet has the added benefit of being out in nature. It is very close to Hwy 80, so no guesswork of where to find it. The bathroom/shower, the firm bed, the great kitchen/dining nook layout and the living room all make for a very comfortable stay. My pup and I enjoyed exploring the 'hood; I saw only one person during my four day/three night visit, so the remoteness and quiet away from suburbia was most welcome. Krysten was most responsive to my questions. Will visit, again, for sure.

This was such a pleasant getaway for my family and I. It was serene and quiet. Dog Friendly also!! Emily was responsive and a great host. Had everything we needed and more. The walk to the creek is a nice morning and evening walk.

Was a great experience, we lived in the lap of luxury. Justin had made his home into a beautiful spa day in the woods. He was very responsive to all our questions, the accommodations were clean, cozy and very comfortable, the hot tub was divine, and we were nearby a beautiful collection of hiking and swimming spots along the Yuba River. 5 stars!!

Weekend Trip to The Rough and ready Rustique
I really enjoyed my stay at Travais Rough & Ready Rustique. A perfect spot! Clean and comfy. All the amenities one could need. The place has lots of character & history. I Walked a short way and found a cute old time decorative mining town. The host was kind and attentive. Will definitely be back.
