That said… Our base site rental fee is $75 for the first person which includes the propane tank and propane fire pit rental. We charge an additional $50 per person after the base site fee. Children under 15 are FREE. We love sharing our property with friends, family, HipCampers and dogs. Our property consists of: 43 rugged/hilly/mountainous acre with numerous flat plateaus and fantastic views. Each plateau has several great spots to car/van/truck camp, pitch a tent or park small trailers and small RVs. Larger RVs/Trailers fit on the front side of our property. SUMMER/FALL: Expect the landscape and views to be golden brown (not green and lush like in a lot of the photos posted which were taken this past winter/spring.) Thank you for your interest in camping with us! We look forward to your potential booking request. We have been doing this for a while now and we absolutely love it. We’ve learned a lot along the way so the following information, I know it’s a lot of info, please read in its entirety so that you get the most out of your stay with us. We chose to offer sites on a PER PERSON PRICING bases rather than a flat rate for each site. This way solo campers have affordable pricing and access to our camp. When you camp with us it’s a full experience including a tour (upon availability 99% of the time), welcome drink and access to our common area which offers BBQ, wash sink, cold dunk tubs and shady lounge area under our pepper trees (see photos.) SUMMER/FALL: Expect the landscape and views to be golden brown (not green and lush like in a lot of the photos posted which were taken this past winter/spring.) PICKING YOUR CAMPSITE: When we are not sold out we place campers at campsites on a first-come-first-serve basis upon arrival. If we are sold out we will pre-pick your campsite based on where we feel each of our campers will be happiest given their individual camp set up, i.e. Tent, Van, Trailer, RV, and size of the group. All of our sites are spread out with plenty of space for social distancing. DRY CAMPING: All of our sites are DRY camping (no water/electricity.) We provide a picnic table and one umbrella and a propane fire pit with a propane tank. Please bring additional shade structures if you think you’ll need more shade. Our best sites, with little-to-no traffic noise, (and the best views) are on our back property. Best suited for tents, camper vans, trucks, and SMALL trailers or SMALL RVs. There is a semi-steep hill up to our upper property if you're towing a trailer you will need a powerful vehicle to make it up the hill. Sites on our lower property by the common area are easily accessible with views up the hills/mountains but come with some highway noise. We imagine it sounds like waves crashing and call it the "steel river." For your private camp area, please bring your own drinking water, water to wash dishes and if think you'll need: chairs, camp tables, umbrellas or shade structures, trash bags/cans (throw your trash in the dumpster out side our entry gate when you leave. Plan on being fully self-sufficient. Otherwise, feel free to use the common area BBQ, Sink, tables and chairs at the barn until 10 pm. MOST DOGS WELCOMED... WE PROHIBIT UN-neutered aggressive breed dogs. DOGS ARE FREE TO RUN UNLEASHED ALL OVER OUR LAND. The front of our property is all. Fenced. The back property just has barbed wire. ABOUT OUR DOGS: We have one female dog and three male dogs (one of the three is UN-NEUTERED) a 10-year-old yellow lab (Titan-Dan.) A 14-year-old American Dingo (Reno.) 5-year-old Great Pyrenees (Bandit.) And then there is Cannoli a 7-year-old female Great Pyrenees who adopted us we saw her come through the bushes from the neighbors property across the highway… She ran across the highway and jumped the medium and ran up to our gate, she hasn’t left since… COMMON USE AREA: Inside and near the barn include tables, chairs, hammocks, wood fire pit, outdoor propane BBQ and stove, wash sink and outdoor mineral shower, and mineral cold plunge tubs. FIRE SAFETY and PROPANE FIREPITS: We have “very safe” propane firepits and fire extinguishers at every site. Under the right conditions, we will light a real wood fire at the common area by the barn. Feel free to join us in the early evening until 10pm. PORTA-POTTIES: We have porta-potties next to the Barn, the Garden, Running Dog Flats, and the Art Studio. They are pumped clean every Thursday and are generally very lightly used. If you don’t want to use the porta-potties we recommend/encourage you to bring your own camp toilet, bags, and absorbent. WILDLIFE: Our dogs do a great job of fending off the resident bobcat and coyotes on the front portion of our property and by the barn, if they are barking in the night there's a reason. If you end up camping on the front portion of our property and think their barking will affect your sleep, bring earplugs ;-). Drinking-WATER, Dish Washing Water and Shade: All of our sites are dry camping i.e. there is no potable water available. Please bring all your own drinking/dishwashing water. We have a picnic table and 1 umbrella at all the sites. Please bring additional shade i.e. easy up or other shade structures if you think you'll need it. Cold Mineral Dunks and Hot Outdoor Mineral Shower: We have huge aluminum cowboy cold dunk tubs available at what we lovingly/jokingly refer to as our very own “Cactus Flower Beach,” which is not a real beach… It feels like a beach because we’ve decked it out with lounge chairs, a daybed cabana, 150K pounds of sand and tiki-hut umbrellas. It’s fun to hang out there when it’s hot under the shade of the pepper trees. NOTE: The Outdoor Shower screening is a tad see-through. If you are shy, wear a bathing suit. Please limit showers to 3-5 minutes max. Mineral Water Definition: Water from a mineral spring or well (i.e. our well) that contains various minerals, such as salts and sulfur compounds. TRASH: Please pack all your trash out to the large trash bin located at the entrance to our property. Please take your recycling with you. ELECTRICITY and Wi-Fi: We have charging stations in the barn for your computers, phones, etc. Password: HowdyDoody (Accessible in and near the barn common area.) COMMISSARY: We have farm fresh eggs and meats from the pork palace across the street, and other swag i.e Hats for sale in the barn. FEED THE CHICKENS AND GOATS: Please feel free to feed the goats and chickens your vegetable scraps and or bring them a treat they love full heads of cabbage, lettuce, cantaloupe and watermelon. CHILDREN: For safety, children must be always accompanied by an adult! Organic farm and horse camp

5 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents80 acres · Los Osos, CA
We have a busy property. Organic farm, polo club, and lots of horses are boarded here. Camp somewhere on the property with your RV or tent. We have easy access to Morro Bay, Montana De Oro and wineries galore. Bring your horses, dogs, etc!! We have tent spots and a fully furnished toy hauler available. We have gates, and we have a general equine liability form for you to complete, and then we can give you the gate code. I have been here for 14 years. I have an organic farm, polo club, boarding stables, a few gypsy friends and 2 kids. If you are looking for a place to crash while enjoying San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay and Los Osos this is it!! If you want to learn to ride or play polo... that is my real job. Guests love it here: "My husband, friends, and our dogs spent Thanksgiving at Megan’s farm. Megan was welcoming, patient (I asked her a number of questions) and responsive - even on Thanksgiving evening. The property is in a GREAT location so close to SLO, Montaña de Oro, Morro Bay, wineries and so much more. (The weather prevented us from experiencing that and so much more but it’s easy to build a great trip when staying at Megan’s place.) It was a unique experience and if you enjoy or interested in horses - this is a great spot to stay."

Kindred Acre Wood

1 site · Lodging10 acres · San Luis Obispo, CA
We are living our dream after recently finding and purchasing this beautiful 10 acre parcel, one of the sunniest in the canyon with a bucolic creek that flows all year. See Canyon itself is a special place. Home to a multitude of birds and wildlife, a beautiful scenic winding road, lush landscaping and a host of apple orchards. Thanks to the micro climate we have here, we grow some of the best fruit in the country. The coastal canyon is just a short distance to the beach and 15 minutes into town but feels like a world away when you are here. The star gazing is incredible as the canyon walls block the light pollution and the milky way shines! Welcome to our little slice of 10 acre heaven in the Canyon! Just bring yourself and we have everything else!! Nestle up in the Cozy Gnome Home, a 1967 vintage trailer and listen to the symphony of frogs in the creek just outside your window. With love and labor... we gutted, redesigned and restored this little trailer for the ultimate functioning space for two. Nice little kitchen with copper counters and everything you need for cooking and dining. A Berkey filter for clean water, hardwood floors and a comfy bed complete with organic mattress, down comforter and cotton sheets. Fold out dining table if you care to (or need to) eat indoors. There is also an outdoor kitchen space with a sink (no hot water), gas grill, propane burner (bring your own small canister) and a patio table and chairs. We have a charcoal grill available too. The creek runs mostly year round so feel free to get your feet wet on a hot sunny day. We also have an outdoor warm shower and sink as well as a hot water kitchen sink that you can share with other campers. You are welcome to cruise the property and check out the chickens, ducks and horses. We have three dogs on the ranch, a deaf and incredibly sweet pitbull ( he is a food thief so store food and garbage as though raccoons were a problem), a curious and playful ranch dog Pluto (who will be your tour guide) and a Boston Bulldogge, Astrid. We are surrounded by orchards which have some of the best apples and pears in the country. Seasonally you can stop by many apple markets and do a tasting. We also have a lively wine tasting venue less than a mile away. Avila Beach is a short 4 miles away and we are happy to share bikes if we have them available but can't guarantee any. Our location is a bikers' dream as the 13 mile scenic road takes you all the way into SLO. NOTE: If you want to bring others to camp, please note that they need to bring their own tents and supplies, we only have room for two but welcome self sufficient campers to join you :) also, we have a camp stove you can use to cook on but bring your own little green propane canister.

Glorious, private, nature retreat in Santa Barbara!

1 site · Lodging11 acres · Santa Barbara, CA
PURE MAGICAL WELL LOVED LAND & YURT off secluded gated private drive. Extremely serene, quiet setting with peaceful gorgeous energy, green growing things and fine air. This stunning 11 acre property graced with oak, pepper, sycamore and walnut trees is surrounded by private trails, more land and national forest. Santa Barbara is stunning place to be ALL year round.. summer and spring obviously but fall and winter are equally gorgeous and kind weather wise (fall/ winter my personal favorite when the colors are extra deep and vibrant) - this land. is.... a true expression of the beauty of Santa Barbara being within the mountains and minutes from the ocean, half hour from the Santa Ynez back country, minutes to the beach and epic mountain top trails.I wish to say before going into the description... how SO very sweet and satisfying it's been for me to share this special land with the amazing people coming through making life memories.. eloping or having their first romantic get away after having children etc.. I think because I truly LOVE, love opening my home and land up to others, it makes for a very different kind of experience energetically. It's been a real honor for me to be hostess! The incredible thing about this place is that it's a mere few miles to uptown, Whole Foods and restaurants (5 minutes) and 10 minutes to downtown Santa Barbara. We're also just 30 minutes from Santa Ynez, Los Olivos, Solvang (wine country). The land is unique because it feels like you're very remote and off the grid out in nature (which you are) but then it's just minutes to get anywhere in Santa Barbara. Very find rare to find such a spot with so much surrounding private serene land!Again.. to say... how I so love having people here.. part of the unfolding story of this special dwelling. I've marveled and appreciated so much how everyone has treated this place with honor, respect.. all of us taking good care with it so it's here for everyone's enjoyment. Makes my heart glad!!I am usually present on the land in my "own neck of the woods" in my barn (so I'm around if needed by text), but it's very uncommon for people to cross paths unless they are seeking it out others at common spaces.. otherwise it's rare, private and pretty vast on this 11 acre piece of paradise. Usually I will greet you briefly, warmly so I can answer any questions and then again because there's so much space, there is rarely any overlap. A very private, serene experience. The photographs... I have to say, DO NOT GIVE JUSTICE to this home and land. You'll know what I mean when you get here...the feel of this place, the stillness, the open, natural setting, nurturing, safe feeling. It's a very special zone in which to unravel the nervous system, revise and renew. Hope to share it with you!PLEASE NOTE: If you are interested in staying, first step will be to connect voice to voice by phone as I love to take great care with each and every person that visits this amazing land.. a soulful hello, answer questions and be sure the offering is the right fit! Also, for reviews, you can search for the yurt on airbnb where you'll see near 100 5 STAR reviews.. which will give you a much deeper feel for the experience that is had here. Thanks for reading!Learn more about this land:The Yurt is a very private, soulful, sexy, romantic space. Very different from being in a normal house structure. It's like you're camping in a way.. hearing the sounds of outside, of the wind.. but then you're in this very luxurious extraordinarily dreamy realm. For those of you who don't know, a yurt is a round structure with wood floors, a round skylight at the top of the dome and very heavy canvas that can withstand any weather... a most interesting architecture. It's very warm and soulful. The hillside where it resides provides beautiful trees and sweetest feel of openness.. a small trail that leads up to a 2 seater lounge swing overlooking the entire mountain range of Santa Barbara begins just outside the door. Amazing surround sound system for your dancing pleasure. Also available DVD player and WI. No internet. This is for those who wish to really recalibrate... though most smart phones (internet) will function from the sweet spots on the property. I myself are on Verizon.. have no issue using phone and internet from my smart phone.Amazing redwood bath house exclusive to the yurt which includes an amazing outside shower looking out to the expanse of the hillside. Super private!Pool and hot tub  resides on the top tier of the land, not near any dwellings.. gorgeous day and night. More about the yurt. The space is very light and open. A complete living room/ bedroom/ eating area all in one. French doors lead out to a private deck. Perfect for stargazing or just laying in the sweet sun. The land surrounding is an extension of the living space.Hear and watch the beautiful birds.. hawks, crows and small singing ones.. howls of distant coyotes by night and the occasional sighting of a bob cat.The yurt in short is just an epic place to dwell recalibrate, renew in both nature and luxury. The setting is ideal for two adults or one solo soul looking to retreat. There is also plenty of land around the yurt and on other parts of the property in which to camp.... so this is a potentially amazing place for more visitors as well. Now, there is no kitchen inside the yurt. (small fridge is outside under the stairs). Keeps the motors away and the sounds of nature in the forefront. I am pretty much an extraordinary cook specializing in bringing forth the incredible local organic year round produce.... I had the thought to offer to guests (by request and if I'm available, additional cost and if my schedule allows) a meal or two which could be brought up to the yurt or eaten down at the main house where we can hang out while I cook for you! I hate to say it because there are some pretty fantastic restaurants in town.. but I would be VERY surprised if you found food as good as mine. :) Something about home cooking by someone who worships food and the highest quality ingredients.. equal parts healthy and gourmet. OR, I certainly can point you in the right direction if eating out is what you prefer! BUT either way!! EGGS! Here on the land, I have 12 wonderful hens who lay daily in the non cold months of the year. Happy to send you off with fresh ones to take home with you! Also tons of fruit from the land to share depending on the time of year.Ahh... what else? The sun is supreme here, the air quality medicinal and the weather has a habit of being a perfectly kind 73 degrees and sunny. Hang out by day or by moon with the countless places to dwell.P.s. OTHER OFFERINGS: I have chickens who are fed very well laying all organic epic EGGS! When they are laying (not so much in the winter months. chickens will take a break when it's "cold")... I will be showering you with them for your breakfast making pleasure (hard boiled or you can take some home!). I also provide organic whole bean coffee and tea. Also of course the best natural shampoo, conditioner and soap!
