About the property Our property is in the high desert above Borrego Springs at 4,300'. We border Anza Borrego State property which means you’ll be adjacent to plenty of beautiful open spaces. There are many trails in the park which lead to the desert floor from our fence line. On a clear day you can see the Salton Sea from the bottom of the property.  We have great access to nearby points of interest including Borrego Springs which is 20 miles away, Anza Borrego State Park which is adjacent to Julian at 40 miles away, Palomar observatory which is 40 miles away and Cuyamaca Lake which is fantastic for fishing only 45 miles away. If you need to pop into town for any supplies or services you can access Borrego Springs (20 miles away), Julian (40 miles away), Ramona (45 miles away), and Temecula (50 miles away). We have 3 horseshoe pits and 9 frisbee golf baskets for recreation onsite and we have incredible dark skies for excellent stargazing. You may see many different forms of wildlife including mountain lions, coyotes, foxes, bob cats, racoons, badgers, and rattle snakes. You will see many rabbits, squirrels and tons of birds of all kinds! We are really the perfect location for those who love the outdoors! Owners live on site but we like to greet, meet, and then leave you to your stay! Please reach out if you have questions or concerns though. About the listing Our listing is for tents, vans and truck campers, trailers, or RV’s and we can accommodate rigs up to 25ft in length. A few of our 5 sites are pull through sites on dirt and may require some leveling. All sites are dry camping only as we do not have any hookups, though there are two bathrooms and water available in a centralized area on the property.  You can expect High desert and scrub brush environments. Any vehicle should be able to access our property but 4-wheel drive vehicle might make it a little easier to access areas on the outside perimeter of the property. While staying with us you can expect some noise from coyotes, raven….wind and a little highway traffic on s22. Each site will accommodate up to 6 people. We are a small homestead/farm just outside Temecula Valley Wine Country in California. Primarily we raise our mini dairy goats and host BYO Tent or RV camping.In October of 2016 we began our journey to create our small farm/homestead. We are the second owners of the property and want to be as self sustaining as possible. We are on a well and have converted to solar power. Due to deadlines and even more stress created by the partners of the firm, I ignored what my body was telling me. I put off going to the doctor for months telling myself I didn't have time and, after this next deadline I'll get a check up.I knew that I needed to change my lifestyle but I wasn't doing it fast enough. We closed escrow on the property in October of 2016 and that November I was in the ER. I almost died. Spent my birthday and Thanksgiving in the hospital.Soon after that I quit my job at the CPA firm and started working from home. Still suffering from complications, that summer in June/July I ended up in the ER again. Even closer to death this time. Since then I've turned around my health. Focused on life on the farm. Raising my animals, my garden and creating a unique experience with the campers. I enjoy sharing this life and my home with like-minded people who want to escape the city and feel a little closer to nature.

This is a beautiful property with very nice hosts. The grass is lush and green with trees draping over the landscape like a glorious frame. Truly a peaceful and breathtaking property. Cows and chickens and lots of bunnies hopping through. The hookup spaces are perfect and large. They each have their own picnic table and are separated by more beautiful trees for some privacy between camp sites. A very thoughtfully designed camp area with very welcoming hosts. I actually extended my stay by a few additional nights because I got lucky with availability and didn’t want to leave that beautiful property. Even the drive to the property is serene and amazing. Thank you for allowing me and my fur baby clan to rest on your land. 🙏🏻

Weekend Trip to Magical Harrison Serenity Ranch

Would absolutely recommend Magical Harrison Serenity Ranch — it truly feels like a hidden paradise. The views are incredible — during the day you can see all the way across San Diego out to the Pacific Ocean, and at night you get the best of both worlds: the glow of city lights below and a sky full of stars above your head. Whether you love camping or not, this place might just change your mind. One important thing to keep in mind is the drive up. The off-road section from the bottom to the campsite is no joke and definitely not ideal for a regular city sedan. A 4WD SUV is highly recommended. We even ended up rescuing a truck that was stuck on the side of the cliff — thankfully we had a tow rope with us. The drive is fun and adventurous, but make sure you’re prepared and confident with off-road conditions. Everyone in our group already agreed we’re coming back again — and next time with a vehicle fully ready for off-roading to make the experience even more fun.

Weekend Trip to 2 The Rescue Animal Sanctuary

Our family truly enjoyed our stay. The host was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and all of the animals were clearly very well cared for. The RV was comfortable and cozy. Our kids especially loved one of the hens named Happy Feet. They spent time petting her and digging in the dirt to find worms for her to eat. We also loved meeting the turkey who purrs when you pet it! Thor, the big fluffy love bug of a dog, completely stole the show. He even “knocked” on our RV door and let himself in when we opened it, then happily plopped onto the couch. Our girls spent hours petting him, and he gently pawed at them whenever they stopped. We looked forward to his visits every morning and evening. It was such a special place to slow down, disconnect, and relax. Our youngest was emotional when we left because she had bonded so deeply with Thor. Spending time with him meant more to us than we expected. We lost our beloved dog of 13 years last year, and Thor reminded us of the joy a dog can bring to a family. This place is truly special, and we’re so grateful for the experience.

The airstream was awesome! Very updated and the decor was lovely! The bed was sooo comfy! The best part was being able to wake up and right outside of the window see the cutest Alpacas! All the animals there were so cute, and they even had a cool little jacuzzi! Would def plan another return trip!

5 nights at Thompson Palms Campground

A relaxed farm setting with steers lowing, chickens cackling, roosters crowing, and Hosts Bernie and Hoa cultivating gardens, moving soil with a tractor, sharing eggs and homemade beef jerky, also inviting us to sit by their fire. Wonderful hosts and a great place to stay. The sites are level, private and offer hook ups. Return visitors!

This place was exactly what it says it is, the views are stunning, and there is lots to explore. Perfect place if you have a doggie who needs to run around as well. Vicki is super welcoming and friendly, and leaves you be while you are camping. Bringing a bundle is a good idea, but you can always find food nearby to keep the fires going. Made it up there in my Corolla which is really low to the ground. Just make sure you are paying attention to the road if you have a low car like mine, because there’s a lot of spots you can bottom out but there is always a way around them. If they are booked up you will see and hear the other campers around you. Overall a really good vibe and would reccomend to anyone. A little cold up there so layer up.

The dirt road up to the ranch was slightly narrow at some points but still an easy drive up. Very peaceful and calm once we settled into our campground. Vicki was very welcoming and friendly as well as the other hosts. We will definitely plan a second trip back soon!

Spent two nights and it was a great time! Perfect spot if you want to go on hikes up Palomar mountain, and staff was great too. 10/10 would recommend.

Camping at Vicki's was a great experience as a first time camper. Got to have see beautiful views, have peace, and a little bit hiking with the dogs alongside. Overall great place for pitching a tent and enjoying the weekend.

We had such a peaceful and relaxing stay. The property has a beautiful pond, and we absolutely loved taking the kayaks out. The ducks were adorable. The area was quiet and perfect for unwinding. Our host Julian was incredibly responsive and made everything easy from start to finish.

We had an absolute magical time staying at the rescue. The RV was well equipped for a family of 4 (2 adults, preteen and a toddler). The heater and heating blanket were a plus especially in February. We would absolutely recommend this place! Would love to go back soon!

1 night at Oasis Ranch

What a magical little gem of a place to find in the middle of the desert. Had a beautiful night listening to the thousands of birds. Watching the sunset and sunrise was incredible. Smelling the fruit trees blew my mind. My dog and I did get to see the peacock watching over us through the night and were delighted that six great egrets nested in the tree right above where we were sleeping. My Merlin Bird app went absolutely nuts in this place!! A porta-potty was delivered just as I was setting up and it was so clean, and very much appreciated. If I had known how special this place was I probably would have carved out a little more time to stay longer.

Weekend Trip to Magical Harrison Serenity Ranch

This is our 2nd time here! We have gone at least once a year. We have loved it every time! Vicki is so nice and provided us with a great, private campsite. Plus, her famous greeter, Solo (dog), was friendly! The campsite has portal toilets, trash cans, and showers. The weather was 50-70 degrees and no wind—beautiful views of the mountains and the land. Plus, they allow campfires, which make our cold nights more bearable! We went hiking in Palomar Mountain State Park, which had many trails!
