We do our best to keep the dogs hushed but we cannot stop the donkeys, roosters and peacocks from doing their thing. If you are a light sleeper, please bring earplugs or select another wonderful Hipcamp in our area, thank you! In addition to the interesting sounds you will hear, you will encounter dirt, poop and spiders. Since we are a working farm, things get dirty. We spray all high traffic surfaces twice a day but things get dirty and when it rains it is muddy. Please plan accordingly. Each yurt has a wood-fired stove inside with plenty of wood stacked to keep you warm. Each yurt has a kitchen that is fully equipped with a hot plate, toaster oven, microwave, refrigerator, cutlery, pots and pans, grill, etc. Each yurt has a Queen bed with a heating blanket to help keep you cozy throughout the night. Each yurt has its own dedicated wood-fired hot tub. It requires a fire to be lit and maintained to keep it hot. Things you might like to bring: headlamps, robe, flip flops, slippers, hiking shoes. Water: we are on a well and provide fresh drinking water in a container for you. It’s fine to drink, cook, and bathe with the water from the tap but it can have a minerally quality to it. We test the well annually. We provide filtered water but if it runs out, the water out of the tap is safe and delicious. The hot tub: it’s wood fired. This means you have to heat it with a fire to get it hot. This can take many hours to get to the right temperature. It’s a good idea to start a fire right when you get there! This tub may have leaves in it (they fall from above) and cloudy water. The water should NOT smell, the cloudiness is a part of the cedar tubs charm- ash from the fire and particulate from the cedar mix together. We treat it between guests with natural products that maintain the wood (you can’t use chlorine in these tubs). We clean it regularly. Shower before using it to wash off any oils please! The outdoor shower is lovely :) Fireplace: We will leave you a bundle of wood that comes with the rental. If you need more wood you can purchase it from us or from the grocery store. We have lots of wood at the yurt and we ask you to pay $10 per bundle if you use more then we leave you inside. This is on the honor system- It takes a lot of time and resources to keep wood stocked for the property. If you don’t know how to start a fire you may want to bring an instant log with you. Please leave the lighter behind for the next guest. Sleep: we have a heating blanket for cold nights, It’s about 10 degrees cooler on our land than in town. This is a real treat during our hot summers. There will be a fan for you as well during the warm season. We live in the woods, there are bugs and wild animals on/or near the property. I had a great time glamping on the platform! It was really nice to not have to worry about setting up a tent, sleeping bags, table chairs, etc. This was by far the best bathroom I’ve ever had in any camping experience. Absolutely beautiful and clean shower and toilet. I was also super impressed there was electricity and wifi! I was a big fan of the hot tub, although unless you sit back you do get a view of the other tent decks, and them of you haha. The sites without pre-set up tents were looked nice and I would camp in those another time if I couldn’t book a glamping tent; the string lights at those are beautiful. If I were staying in a glamping tent again, I’d bring my own pillow and a bright lantern, but otherwise felt like the accommodations were perfect. Jo is very sweet and super responsive. Would def come back!

We have lived on the farm now for over 21 years. The back part of the property was a stop point for the stage line between Oroville and Bangor during the 1880, Then gold was discovered on the property. There were multiple Gold claims on this property. The Old rock pilings are still there to explore. It is a favorite spot for finding Jasper, some Agates and quartz. Campers are welcome year-round to this tent site on the old Gold Claim of our 20-acre family farm! Drive right up to this fun-filled, family-friendly campsite, easily accessible by cars and SUVs alike - though 4WD is helpful during the rainy season. This site features two seasonal streams that cross on the property, as well as bushes full of ripe blackberries - if you catch them at the right time, help yourself. You'll enjoy hearing the birds echoing through the trees and could easily see deer tip toeing through the woods. Dogs on leash only. We raise 4H and FFA show and market goats, llamas, and a donkey and a cow, all of whom are very friendly! You'll also see our chickens, ducks, peacocks, and guinea hens. Rock pilings are on the island between the two seasonal streams that cross our land. Gold panning, hiking and creek walking is available on the property. Campers are welcome to stargaze in the field, create scavenger hunts for the kids, or simply sit back and enjoy the tranquility. The streams dry up in late June and fill up in November when the rains start. Trank Family Farm is 30 minutes from Lake Oroville, 20 minutes from Oroville Wildlife Area and the Feather River - great for kayaking, swimming, and fishing! Be sure to check out the trails and seasonal waterfalls at Table Mountain, 35 minutes away. There are 2 Indian Casinos & Hotels in Oroville, as well as 2 golf ranges - and all with in 20 minutes of the camp site. The college town of Chico is about 30 minutes outside of Oroville. This is the place for people who are tired of rentals that lack amenities or aesthetic quality. This is also a non-toxic, eco-friendly sanctuary. There are four bedrooms in the main house and an optional separate studio to rent. The main house has two bedrooms with king beds, one bedroom with a twin bed and a twin air mattress (if needed), and an enclosed den with a queen murphy bed. This allows 8 people to sleep comfortably. There are 3 bathrooms, one with a lux freestanding soaking tub with forest views. For 9-11 guests, or if you just want extra space for a smaller party, you can rent the separate studio for $125/night plus $99 cleaning fee. We are based in between the middle fork of the Yuba river right where it meets up with Oregon Creek. If you like a long walk it is 2.5 miles down the dirt road to Oregon Creek and the middle fork of the Yuba. Driving takes 5 to 10 mins. The other direction is the largest lake in our county Bullards Bar Reservoir and Emerald Cove Marina. We are 1 mile down Marysville Rd. from a launch called dark day. There is a trailhead at the top of overflow boat parking for a public swimming hole on the lake. On our property, we have a main house with its own private facilities such as a kitchen, shower, and bath. On the land, we have 9 total unique cabin and canvas tent structures converted into boutique-like campsites. We have an epic outdoor entertaining kitchen and patio with an outdoor pizza oven and a little dog rinse behind the outdoor shower. The bathhouse is right across the way and provides a private but shared guest shower house, tub and sink. Like anywhere in the woods there is an hour at sunset when you may have mosquitoes down near the sites in the spring and some of the summers depending on the year. We have a natural spray for that or fans in the kitchen. Off the path, you may find poison oak in the thick of the woods. So please stay on the marked trails.

Escape the hustle and bustle of city life as you unwind in my charming 120-square-foot (10 x 12 ft) tiny house, thoughtfully designed for comfort and functionality. We are located about 30 minutes north of Placerville in the Swansboro/Mosquito area. The cozy living accommodations has a key-less entry and features two sleeping areas: a tiny loft with a twin-sized bed and on the main floor, a small sofa that converts into a small bed that is 39 inches wide and 66 inches long. Sheets, comforters, and pillows are provided for the beds. There is a ceiling fan, small electric heater, and an air conditioner as well. The small kitchen provides all the essentials to whip up delicious meals including a two burner hot plate, pots and pans, toaster, french press, plates, bowls, and eating utensils, spices and condiments, as well as complimentary tea and coffee. The tiny bathroom includes a metal tub with a copper shower and a compostable toilet. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided. There are two chairs on the screened-in porch to enjoy the sunset in the evenings or your coffee/tea in the mornings. Situated a mere 10 minutes drive away is the pristine Finnon Lake, inviting you to indulge in a refreshing swim or a tranquil paddle amidst breathtaking scenery. The beautiful Rock Creek is just a 15-minute drive, promising invigorating water holes to swim or wade in. Wonderful forest hiking trails are also nearby in the El Dorado National Forest. The tiny house is a mere 25 feet from my own home but there is a bamboo privacy fence between us that will give you plenty of privacy. In addition, I have several small beautiful dogs on the property that may bark during the initial visit of guests.
