Those of you who have experienced camping before know that these are all normal things when out in nature but for those of you who have no camping experience I ask you to come with an open mind and a positive attitude towards a new experience. If you think you may have problems with any of these things PLEASE DON'T COME!!! We also have a dog named Sara that loves people. Most campers that come are very happy to have her around. She is polite and good with children. Some of you may not like dogs, if that is the case this will not be a fun experience for you. Please note that as of spring 2021 we no longer have as many animals. Because of the drought feed prices are too high.

Ettawa Springs Resort dates back to the 1920s like the fashionable resorts in the Cobb area where the rich and famous came to play. But Ettawa was oriented towards families and a more relaxed and rustic atmosphere. We are working hard to restore her to her former glory. We are excited to announce that we have one cabin and a few campsites ready for use and will be adding more as we go. The campground offers hot showers and flush toilets, two sites in the Glade have running water and power. The cabin is a fully equipped studio with kitchen and bathroom. You can hike through our property to the Boggs Mountain Demonstration Forest or just enjoy the clean air and listen to the wind and the birds. On clear nights the stars put on an amazing show. Clear Lake is about 45 minutes away with all the fishing and water sports you could ask for. Harbin Hot Springs are 15 minutes away and they offer day passes for reasonable rates. We are located about 20 minutes outside of Middletown. Be aware that half of the road is dirt (and that's better than the asphalt half) all of it is fine for small cars, just take your time. The last 1/2 mile or so is a one lane road, so please be careful of opposing traffic and uneven surfaces. We cannot accommodate vehicles longer than 28’ on these roads. Please do not take County Road 110 from Boggs/Cobb - it is not maintained at all. We offer California camping at its finest. Fresh air, whispering trees, amazing star fields . . . this can mean the less attractive side of nature as well. We have ticks, rattlesnakes, stinging things, poison oak, uneven trails and surfaces, and a bear on one ridge with mountain cats on the other (no sign of either in the campground). We keep the restroom stocked with Tecnu for the poison oak, but please watch yourselves and especially children. Dogs are welcome, but should be kept on lead and inside at night for their own protection and the comfort of others. We are fairly hands off in our hosting approach. Unless there's a question or problem, you likely won't see us. But we have people close by and are only a message away.

Welcome to our land in the beautiful wilderness of upper Calistoga. Our land is a nature experience, with some development of trails and amenities, at our family land just 10 minutes outside of Calistoga with all the wineries, spas, and restaurants. The hilltop (where Coral Cabin is located) has electricity and wifi, and is a common area for all campers. The main house and deck are not part of the hipcamp; the tenants are a nice family and caretakers of the land, but not the hosts so please do not disturb. Our sites are no frills, cute and rustic, and “user responsible” meaning the price includes basic “leave no trace”cleaning guidelines. Because of this, communication with Dan is super important to ensure expectations are clear for you and us, our land is respected, and you have a great time! Rules for all sites, read before you book! 1. We provide trash bags and ask that you take all trash and recycling to the bottom of the driveway, in the 'hipcamp' trash bin provided (smaller grey bin by mailbox). 2. We have a compost toilet system designed by a graduate of the Occidental Ecology Center permaculture course. It has pros and cons, but when operated correctly, it is a good system: All you gotta do is add mulch (which is any dried leaves or grass), on top of your own biz and it begins to break down waste immediately, including smell. If in doubt, add more mulch; you can find it in a bin by the toilet or gather a handful at time of service. Or: There are also nice coffee shops in town:) 3. The nature of our land being wild, there are no wood fires allowed. We have propane fire pits, and ask guests to use extreme caution with bug candles or smoking anything. We currently have 3 campsites. Please see descriptions for each campsite access and services available. *The Hilltop/Coral Cabin has the best large RV access, Wi-Fi and electricity, and the best views. Each campsite has a gas camping stove and compost toilet. You will see lots of wildlife! Beautiful birds song every morning, little lizards everywhere, turkeys, a toad here and there! You can hike the extent of our 34 acres on fire roads that lead to the top of the Whaleback Ridge, seen in the distance from all camps. That would be an epic sunset hike! There is no indoor shower, but we do have a rustic outdoor shower with hot and cold water. Tent space We have a small orchard in front of the Nopal Studio. There is room for two tent sites. No camp fires are allowed in the orchard. If it is winter time, we do have a fire ring in the fig tree picnic area, as well as a propane BBQ. The bathroom is shared with the cabins. We have farm animals and dogs which can be loud. The dogs chase squirrels and bark maniacally, and the ducks quack at sunrise, like, lots! There are also spiders, wasps, bees, rattlesnakes etc!! Nora is a great host. She is very responsive to my question. And she make us know just to text her if we need something or other question. The running water in the creek was a bonus. Its like ambient sound which we like. (We have automatic singing bowl running when we sleep for ambient sound) There is a ceiling fan. But if you are a hot sleeper like my husband ( he uses aircon in wintet, that how hot sleeper he is) bring a portable desk dan. For me, the temp was perfect. Not too hot and not too cold. The cabin was very clean. The kitchen is furnished what we need for cooking. It has utensils. There is also a pot for making hot water for coffee, tea or instant noodles. Its pet friendly so we brought our dog

We loved our weekend at the Coral Cabin on Dan’s land. Almost like camping but with a comfy bed, coffee maker and fridge, and not far from town, it was a beautiful (the view!) quiet place to get away to with our dogs. Weekend Trip to Sunset Oaks Ranch Casita

We absolutely loved our stay at Torry’s casita and were already planning our next visit before we left! From the moment we booked through Hipcamp, Torry was incredibly responsive, kind, and happy to answer all of my questions. Her directions made arrival easy, and everything was clearly marked. This was my husband and my first camping trip together, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The cabin was spotless, beautifully decorated, and stocked with everything we needed—it truly felt like a home away from home. The thoughtful touches, comfortable beds, great A/C with individual room controls, and extra blanketsmade our stay so cozy. The private pool was sparkling clean, and every seating area was perfectly placed to enjoy the peaceful mountain views. We also loved the grill, the outdoor fire pit, the pet-friendly atmosphere, and outdoor games like horseshoes, corn hole, and Connect 4. Every detail reflected the care Torry puts into her guests’ experience. These three days gave us memories we’ll cherish for years to come. We can’t wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to Ettawa Springs Resort

We very much enjoyed our stay! The cabin is the perfect size for two people and we loved having the creek right outside. Our goal was to escape the firework noise during Independence Day weekend. This is a great spot to get away from the city and enjoy the natural surroundings. We appreciated having a private kitchen and bathroom, as well. It was lovely to meet Nora and Goldberry and we would love to stay again!

Dan's land has beautiful panoramic views. The cabin is near a larger house, but the set up allows for maximum privacy. The cabin is cute and cozy. Comfortable bedding is provided. There is a compost toilet, a hot water outdoor shower, and an outdoor kitchen and dining area. Many kitchen supplies are available. The campsite allows relaxation while still being connected by cell phone and wifi. It's a special place. Highly recommended.

Rachel's place was just right. The property is gorgeous and there is a good balance of privacy and also feeling you are part of the farm. She also did a great job of including little touches that make a guest feel well taken care of. I would gladly recommend staying here to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway tucked into a working farm where you can see and hear cows, ducks, chickens and more!

George was a great host; communicative, helpful, and greeted us when we arrived. He’s also a skilled winemaker, so if he’s around during your visit, don't miss out on a tasting! Pups Sara and Nala are great with people, even young children, and we had a lot of fun throwing the ball for them. The trees next to the pond provided great shade from the afternoon heat, and there were no mosquitoes! That said, bullfrogs recently found their way into the pond from the canals, and they are very noisy at night. Bring earplugs if you need quiet to sleep. The cabin itself is clean and comfortable inside (and has AC!) but don't forget your own bedding; the futon fit a full size fitted sheet nicely. My toddler and I found the futon to be okay, but there's room in there to set up your own cot or inflatable mattress if you really wanted to, plus plenty of room to pitch a tent outside on the lawn. At sunset, you can open the gate at the rear of the property to hike to the top of the hills for a nice view (there are free roaming cattle in the area). It was convenient having well water and a stove already set up for camper use. One tip - a headlamp makes using the restroom much easier. And this is still the country, so spider webs and other creepy crawlies are around. But if you're okay with that, this is a nice spot to get away from the crowds, relax, and savor spending your days slowly away from the daily grind.

I had a fantastic and comfy time at Rachels land. You are on a working farm down a quiet, pastoral road. The farm is hugged by old oaks and grazing fields with colorful singing birds. Their land is dotted with a bounty of fruit trees and sheep, chickens, cows and ducks. It's really like heaven! The accommodations themselves are clean and cozy and very cute. The cabin itself fits a queen and twin bed, and the room has AC and homey, sweet details and art. Immediately outside the cabin are a few seating areas for eating or conversation/ contemplation, as well as cute ornamental garden beds. A few steps away, the kitchen was well stocked, including fresh eggs! and kind of rustic chic vibe with reclaimed farmhouse details. Care and artistry definitely went into designing the bathroom too, and it really felt like home. The space was comfy, easy to access ( not many steps between all the spots I'm talking about and from the parking itself) and it was so memorable. It's just down the road from full belly farm and about 45 minutes from wilbur hot springs. We couldn't have picked a better place to spend the night, and wake up to the birdsong!
