Two distinct forests rolled into one package! That means twice the amount of outdoorsy goodness to explore. The Ozark National Forest covers most of the Ozark Mountains, including the highest peak in the state. It’s awesome here when the dogwood and redbuds bloom in the spring, and when the leaves change color in the fall. The St. Francis National Forest is more diverse, with the St. Francis and Mississippi Rivers running through it, as well as lakes, valleys, and tons of wildlife. It’s the only place in the national forest system where you can access the Mississippi River from the shore, so that right there is a must do! Calico Camp is a lovely, shady spot on private property about 2 miles from Calico Rock Main Street and the White River. Rich in history and great fishing. Bring your boat and kayak. Or, you can rent one in town. There are fishing guides available, too. I moved here in 2016 from Atlanta, Georgia. I actually lived in an RV in a beautiful park for several years there. And, loved it! I thought I was going to do that here, but changed my mind when I found this sweet little house on a couple of acres. Deer visit us, and bunnies make their homes here. I have cats and dogs of my own. I work at the Calico Rock Museum and invite you to visit us. We have a wonderful Heritage Center and a gallery/gift shop with works of art created by local artisans. Visit the websites: CalicoRockMuseum.com and ExploreCalico.com Learn more about this land: Nice, private, shady. Easy to get to from Hwy. 56. About 2 miles from the White River and Main Street Calico Rock. Turn from Hwy. 56 can be tricky for big rigs because of a ditch at Jones Street. Left hand turn is easier than right hand turn. You can use the parking lot across the street to help you back your rig into the campsite. We have permission from the owner to do that. There is room for your boat, too. Pets are welcome. Close to grocery, bank, gas. The White River is famous for its trout fishing. Deer hunting in the area, too. (Not on this property.) The hookups are on the left side (right side if you back in). I moved to my dream home and property March 1, 2020. I refer to it as a hideaway because not only am I at the end of town, this is a dead end street so it stays quiet of traffic. Being downhill, next to the creek, I feel, is safer from tornados, as well, the echo goes uphill instead of downhill toward this property. I am learning town history from a friend that runs the historical society, here in town. As I learn things, I hope to share the information with anyone that may be interested. Learn more about this land: Peace, quiet, alone time or get away from the hustle. Located in the Ozark's.  No freeways for miles. Lots to do around and at edge of small town community. I will be setting up the horseshoe pits soon and have board games as well as cards.  I enjoy and look forward to sharing the beautiful land I live on. The front of my property is very flat and grassy, from the creek fence to the front side of my house. Mature trees that line my property provide nice shade in the spring and summer, however, the property is open air. The stars are spectacular. There is no light pollution. (once it is dark, you can't see your hand in front of your face) This is a small town of about 2000 people or so. There are quite a few shops as well as a grocery store, hardware store, a couple auto stores as well as a couple dealerships. There is a drive through coffee shop as well as a couple drug stores available in town. There are 3 to 5 different repair shops around. There is a beautiful golf course, 5-8 minutes away, just around the corner. .   I live in a peaceful and extremely tranquil spot here. A good hideaway, if thats what you’re looking for.  Hide away and recoup before your next big adventure.  There are a few kids around that love to ride their ATVs, bikes, walk, skateboard and skate up and down Conniebrook Lane. We have bike rally's coming through town often, in the summer. Mt. View, AR, the bluegrass music capitol of the world is about 45 minutes away. Beautiful drive, to get there. Scenic overlooks on the way. Wheelchair Accessibility: I am sure any electric wheelchair would have no problem going over the grass area anywhere they wanted to go in the camping area. I hope if there are any issues, it would be brought to my attention and I would make it accommodating, immediately.. I am extremely handy and mechanical.

Two Roots Ridge is a small developing mother-daughter homestead located on a quiet ridge near Hardy, Arkansas in the Spring River Country community, in the beautiful Ozark Mountains (Ozark Plateaus). Our property offers simple, peaceful camping for travelers looking to slow down, enjoy nature, and experience a quiet rural setting. Guests may stay in RV, van, or tent sites tucked into our wooded ridge property. The land is still a work in progress as we continue building and improving the homestead, so visitors should expect a rustic, honest setup rather than a fully developed campground. We do offer electric and water hookups, along with a shower tent and porta-potty facilities for guest use. The property is surrounded by woods, wildlife, and the natural sounds of the Ozarks. Evenings bring starry skies, quiet country nights, and the peaceful rhythm of rural life. We also operate a small cottage bakery on the property called Two Roots Rising, and fresh baked goods may occasionally be available during your stay. Our chickens also keep us stocked with farm fresh eggs, which are sometimes available from our small homestead stand when the girls are laying well. Two Roots Ridge is conveniently located near several Ozark favorites: • Spring River (10–15 minutes) – floating, kayaking, fishing, and swimming • Historic Hardy (about 12 minutes) – antique shops, cafés, and art galleries • Mammoth Spring State Park (20 minutes) – one of the largest natural springs in the U.S. • Lake Sherwood & Lake Navajo (15–20 minutes) – quiet kayaking and fishing spots • Scenic Ozark backroads and trails ideal for hiking, photography, and relaxed drives We currently host a small number of RV and van campers, with additional tent and glamping sites planned as the homestead develops. You won't find another camping area like this, 5 minutes to Calico Rock (Stores and restaurants) with so much to do and see in the area, hiking trails, Gunner Pool and Blanchard caverns, since we are surrounded by the Ozark National Forest! Not to mention, world-class trout fishing or kayaking just 5 minutes away in the famous White River! Only 25 minutes to 2 Norfork Lake entrances, too! We now have a nice, new clean outhouse as well as offering a generous pile of firewood for just $10! More amenities like picnic tables are coming. You are free to explore the entire property (At your own risk) but I ask that you respect our privacy and avoid going close to our house and if we have any farm animals, please do not disturb them. Thank you.

Located on a 100% off grid homestead, just minutes outside Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas. Completely private road, 4 tenths of a mile off the blacktop. Secluded, quiet, private road. 7 minutes to 3 lakes in Horseshoe Bend, and the Strawberry River. 20 minutes to Spring River, that flows down from Mammoth Spring, excellent fishing, and float/kayak river. 16 minutes to small Hospital if needed. Walmart and many restaurants same distance. I have 3 sites to tent camp. I can also accommodate a small motorhome, van or car dwellers. #3 is all set up, with tent on covered site. 2 cots with sleeping pads, fire pit, composting toilet, container with water. Just bring yourself, a sleeping bag and any personal or camping items, #2 has the tent platform, bring your own gear, and #3 you'd need to carry your gear a block and a half to reach the back corner of my property, and have all the privacy you could possibly want. I also have additional acreage where you could pick your own spot to set up. No overhead lighting, so nothing to block your night sky views. This is off grid, so no power, water is in container at site, fire ring provided, you either bring or buy wood by the bundle. Peaceful and quiet. Pets must be kept on leash or contained at all times. Plenty of room to go walk for miles if desired. Road out here is private, not County maintained, please drive slow. Rooster crows as he pleases, lol. Goats do their own talking as well. If you want to run a generator, please turn off by 9pm. This is a working homestead, always animal sounds, and work projects going on.

CinC's RV Hideaway

Two Roots Ridge Private Ozark Camp

20. Two Roots Ridge Private Ozark Camp

20mi from Evening Shade · 3 sites · Tents, RVs
Guests seeking a quiet place to park, rest, and enjoy the Ozarks will feel right at home at Two Roots Ridge.
