A Few Considerations Before Booking:
Getting Here: Your journey begins with a scenic drive, we live 5-10 minutes down a dirt road. It’s been graded in the last few months, so standard cars like a Civic or Prius will do just fine. That said, this route isn’t ideal for very low-clearance vehicles, those uneasy about dirt roads, or trailers/RVs over 30 ft.
Off-Grid Adventure: Since we're living that sustainable off-grid dream, we work with what we call a composting "outhouse" rather than a traditional septic system. If this rustic charm doesn’t sit well with you, we might not be the ideal fit.
Pet & Wildlife Lovers: We embrace friendly furry companions! Just bear in mind, the desert is home to critters galore—everything from coyotes to bobcats. Keep a watchful eye on your pets and please make sure you clean up after your pets.
Adult-Only Zone: We cater to an 18+ crowd—so it's a peaceful haven sans kids.

There are a series of washes on the road to the property. They are easily passable without issue by my GMC Savana and my friend’s long-wheelbase Promaster. I haven’t tried, nor have I seen, a vehicle with a trailer drive up here yet. As a four-year vanlifer who has lived on much BLM land, I’ve seen trailers make it up worse roads.
A quiet, safe patch of sand and mesquite just 15 miles from Bisbee and 22 miles from Douglas. Located on a sandy road one mile off Frontier Rd. Turn west onto W. Calle de Amigos from Frontier Rd.
Sunrises and sunsets are beautiful, and you can see the Milky Way at night despite a little light pollution from Agua Prieta, Douglas, and Bisbee. There is no offensive road noise, and only an occasional small aircraft in the distance. It’s bare-bones dry camping—water, groceries, and trash disposal are all pack-it-in, pack-it-out.
The property is planned for regreening and wildlife habitat. When booking, I can provide detailed directions, current road conditions, and guidance on where to park once you arrive. I don’t recommend trailers, as they may have issues with the three washouts along the road—but it’s at your discretion. Vans, trucks, and even cars are able to reach the property without any problem.
It’s best not to drive up the road in the rain, as it gets very muddy. Waiting an hour or more after rainfall is ideal to give the water time to drain off a bit. Frontier Rd is prone to closure during heavy rains and has many washes that can hold water for days, though locals still get through. Use your best judgment.

A Few Considerations Before Booking:
Getting Here: Your journey begins with a scenic drive, we live 5-10 minutes down a dirt road. It’s been graded in the last few months, so standard cars like a Civic or Prius will do just fine. That said, this route isn’t ideal for very low-clearance vehicles, those uneasy about dirt roads, or trailers/RVs over 30 ft.
Off-Grid Adventure: Since we're living that sustainable off-grid dream, we work with what we call a composting "outhouse" rather than a traditional septic system. If this rustic charm doesn’t sit well with you, we might not be the ideal fit.
Pet & Wildlife Lovers: We embrace friendly furry companions! Just bear in mind, the desert is home to critters galore—everything from coyotes to bobcats. Keep a watchful eye on your pets and please make sure you clean up after your pets.
Adult-Only Zone: We cater to an 18+ crowd—so it's a peaceful haven sans kids.
Eco-Friendly Practices: We encourage bringing biodegradable soaps to protect our trees and vegetation, we do provide biodegradable soaps if needed.

The parking property includes the fenced area around the shop address. The fenced area is our quiet area with access to 50 amp service and for our most self-contained guests who do not wish to use a generator. Loud generators or engines are not allowed.

There are a series of washes on the road to the property. They are easily passable without issue by my GMC Savana and my friend’s long-wheelbase Promaster. I haven’t tried, nor have I seen, a vehicle with a trailer drive up here yet. As a four-year vanlifer who has lived on much BLM land, I’ve seen trailers make it up worse roads.
A quiet, safe patch of sand and mesquite just 15 miles from Bisbee and 22 miles from Douglas. Located on a sandy road one mile off Frontier Rd. Turn west onto W. Calle de Amigos from Frontier Rd.
Sunrises and sunsets are beautiful, and you can see the Milky Way at night despite a little light pollution from Agua Prieta, Douglas, and Bisbee. There is no offensive road noise, and only an occasional small aircraft in the distance. It’s bare-bones dry camping—water, groceries, and trash disposal are all pack-it-in, pack-it-out.
The property is planned for regreening and wildlife habitat. When booking, I can provide detailed directions, current road conditions, and guidance on where to park once you arrive. I don’t recommend trailers, as they may have issues with the three washouts along the road—but it’s at your discretion. Vans, trucks, and even cars are able to reach the property without any problem.
It’s best not to drive up the road in the rain, as it gets very muddy. Waiting an hour or more after rainfall is ideal to give the water time to drain off a bit. Frontier Rd is prone to closure during heavy rains and has many washes that can hold water for days, though locals still get through. Use your best judgment.

This property is at the base of the Mule Mountains with views looking over the San Pedro River to the Huachuca Mountains, the lights of Sierra Vista and San Pedro Mexico.
It's two miles away from the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area, a popular trailhead for birdwatchers, hikers, and mountain bikers. It's just a 30 minute drive to Old Bisbee, a historic mining town with a vibrant music and art scene.
Also within a half hour drive, you can reach the Coronado National Monument, or Miller Canyon.
There is excellent cell coverage from Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T
And... if you happen to fly a paramotor, you hit the jackpot. Just next to the camping spot, there is a landing zone. If you want to fly here, please get familiar with the local airspace. The riparian area has a 2000' requested minimum altitude. West of the river is restricted airspace and the boarder defense zone starts just six miles to the South. Heading to the North, then East, you are all clear. It's best to fly when the wind is coming from the West or South.

Harry and Barbara are the real deal. Their place is quiet, beautifully kept, and the kind of spot that reminds you why you started traveling this way in the first place. I caught a lunar eclipse during my stay — the dark skies here made it genuinely unforgettable.
But honestly, the best part is the hosts themselves. Humble, gracious, like-minded, and genuinely conscious stewards of their land. You can feel the care they put into this place.

One of the most important things when camping is feeling safe, and that was never a concern here. We actually felt comfortable leaving our doors unlocked during the day when we were out exploring, which says a lot. It was reassuring knowing that [host name] and [host name] were nearby in case anything unexpected happened—especially since we were traveling with our two cats and wanted peace of mind if the power went out or something came up while we were away.
The hosts were incredibly friendly and full of great recommendations for local activities and places to explore. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in the Bisbee/Tombstone area. Thanks for helping make this such a great trip, and if we’re ever back out this way, we’d absolutely love to camp here again!

This was a great nearby spot for visiting Chiricahua National Monument with a larger trailer that won't fit in their campground. It's also a great spot for dark skies. The only negative is that it is a very dusty spot.

Such a peaceful stay on Stephanie’s land. Stephanie and her husband were such kind hosts. We wanted to hike around their property and they gave us a map and also gave us some great historical sites to walk to. Each campsite was quite spacious and level. My husband and I were able to really relax. I highly recommend Stephanie’s land and I will definitely return when we pass through again.

They had all the hookups for our RV, but they could use a little TLC. We made it work…
There are a bunch of dogs there, while they are working ranch dogs, there are a bunch of them!
My wife loved the horses and the horses love her.
We would go back if we were in the area.

We decided to take a last minute, camping trip with our daughter to see the Sandhill Cranes at Whitewater Draw over Christmas, and this was the perfect location. Harry and Barbara had family plans elsewhere, but they were great about communicating all that we needed to know to stay at their place. Our stay was peaceful and beautiful...just the dose of nature and animals that we all needed.
We walked the short trails around their property, and used their solo stove in the evenings to stay warm. The night sky is incredible, and their bird feeders make this a great birding spot. The cranes were not as plentiful as in past years, but a couple of surges in their comings and goings made it worthwhile.
This is a great spot for those needing some time away from the city and a dose of nature.
