Your new favorite Game Day Getaway! Solomon's Garden is a humble 5 acre working homestead located just 30 minutes from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This working farm and community space provides glamping and camping options. Included is a 3 stall shower house with flushing toilets and hot water showers with enough room to change comfortably. Guests are welcome to drive right up to their tents (in dry weather) and within 50 feet in rainy weather. Add on use of the community kitchen, camp stoves or cook over the open fire. Group bookings are welcome!
We currently have a semi-private camping area in our small orchard that is flat and grassy that we recommend for tent campers on any day. We also have a larger, more remote camp area available for those looking for a more complete glamping experience. Our canvas tents are equipped with electricity, lighting, pillow-top mattresses, linen and plenty of space for relaxation and luggage.
Guests can request the number of beds needed for their stay. If you're traveling with children, twin beds are available. If you're traveling alone or as a couple you can choose a full bed. We want to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Enjoy evenings by the fire at our communal fire pit, situated between the logs.
Add-ons include: Propane camp stoves, refrigerator space, use of the community kitchen, wood stove heaters, farm fresh eggs and more. Guests are also welcome to walk our nature trail, lined with the stumps from our beloved forest which are now covered in herbs and berries.

About this space
We invite you to our little slice of paradise! Enjoy the natural beauty of Lookout Mountain in Mentone, AL. Folklore Forest has 270 feet of Little River Frontage for you to enjoy. Considered to be the purest, natural flowing river in the state, bring your fishing gear and kayaks. Listen to Pipwild Spring trickling over the mossy rock waterfall. Sit at the water’s edge under canopies of rhododendrons and holly trees, and sit at your campfire and view the stunning starry nightscape.
The space
Our 10x12 foot canvas safari tent offers a cozy 120 sq ft of space which can accommodate a twin size mattress in addition to the provided queen bed.
Here's what you find inside:
- 2 Queen size beds with headboard, memory foam mattress, and antimicrobial waterproof cover.
- Comforter, 8 pillows (with antimicrobial covers), and furry blanket.
- Side table with reading material and games.
- Mr Heater propane space heater with 20 lb propane tank.
- 6 person Coleman pop up tent.
- Cart with coffee, silverware, plates, cups, bowls, French press, salt/pepper, sugar, kitchen and grill utensils, cutting board, and oven mitt.
- Propane camp stove with fuel.
- Battery powered fan.
- Portable battery powered lantern.
- Cast iron dutch oven, non stick skillet, medium sauce pan, small wok, and kettle.
- 2 wash tubs.
- Handmade broom.
- 1 person hammock.

- Wagon to help you bring luggage down from the car or to gather firewood.

You need to bring:

- Extra wood (you can burn any fallen wood/twigs you find but don’t cut trees!
- Extra water (river water is pure but we always recommend boiling or filtering anything you drink)
Guest access
Folklore Forest is on 3 acres and has 270 feet of River Frontage at your disposal. Little River is considered to be the purest, natural flowing river in the state. Bring your fishing gear and kayaks. Sit on the rocks at the base of the waterfall under the rhododendrons and holly trees, and wade in the water in the warm months.
Park on the side of the road in front of the Cynefin sign. There are solar lights illuminating the path to the tent if you arrive after dark. There you will find a that you can use to bring your luggage down.
Other things to note
• The river will rise and fall depending on how much rain we are getting. It tends to be lower late summer to early fall. We cannot guarantee water levels.
• This is primitive off grid camping. There's no electricity or running water. We recommend bringing a portable battery pack to charge devices.
• Please be respectful of any wildlife (there are white tail deer, raccoons, weasels, harmless black snakes, mink, foxes, coyotes, many birds, and the extremely, and we do mean extremely, rare black bear), while fishing in the little river is allowed, hunting is prohibited.

It is located eight miles north of the small town of Heflin, Alabama, which is about an hour and a half from the metro areas of Birmingham, Alabama, and Atlanta, Georgia. For example, an easy, straightforward drive down I-20 West makes Turkey Track Retreat a perfect quick weekend getaway for Atlanta residents looking to escape the city noise.
The cabin is surrounded by hundreds of square miles of forest. To the west, directly behind the cabin, there are over nine miles of continuous forest before reaching a hard-top road, and beyond that, over six miles to the next road. To the north, there are over sixty miles of continuous forest to the next road. Pinhoti Trailheads are nearby.
The ten acres is mostly forested, and all surrounding properties are similarly wooded. The back side of the property is bordered by a year-round creek. There are two open meadows, one of which is a pawpaw orchard.
Trails and a covered pavilion are located down by the creek. In season, you can enjoy blueberries, blackberries, and muscadines. Because the property is so remote—and because the surrounding areas adhere to International Dark Sky standards—you can enjoy spectacular stargazing on clear nights.
If you are looking for an off-grid experience in a forest and a quiet place to get away, this is the place for you.

We took our two boys (6&7) for a long weekend to enjoy some nature - we lucked out with this booking!
The yurt was spacious, well kept, and had a coffee maker, a small fridge and a microwave for meal storage and snacks/tea.
The hot tub was a highlight, but star of the show were the goats and rabbits which we joined with our lovely hosts, April & Igor, for feeding, brushing, and general petting for longer than we could have hoped.
We arrived in the middle of an apparently rare mosquito night, possibly due to the recent hurricane, but they were gone by the first morning and we got to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature (and weren’t sad to bunker down in the cosy yurt the first night!)
10 minutes from all the stores and restaurants you could want in nearby Foley (we enjoyed the Mellow Mushroom, excellent service and great food), and 20 mins from gorgeous public beaches (we spent two days on CottonBayou public beach, with perfect evenings at the nearby The Gulf restaurant which the kids loved).
And not to forget Juniper, the host kitty who guided us to our yurt and greeted us with pets on the main square each morning!
Looking forward to returning!

We absolutely loved our stay here! ❤️ The yurt was amazing—beautiful, cozy, peaceful, and everything we could have hoped for in a little getaway. It was exactly what my fiancé and I needed to slow down, relax, and enjoy some time together.
The owners were incredibly sweet, welcoming, and responsive throughout our stay, which made everything even better. And the goats and the cat were just adorable! 🐐🐈 They were such a fun and unexpected addition to our experience and definitely made the stay even more memorable.
The entire property had such a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. It truly felt like a little escape from everything. We left feeling refreshed and grateful for the time we got to spend there together.
We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful, cozy, and unique getaway. We can’t wait to come back! ❤️

Weekend Trip to The Sacred Land of Darsana Wellness
I had the best time camping at The Land! Daniel was an incredible host, made sure I had everything I needed, and even had the campfire built and ready for me. It was great to get away from the city and sleep out in Nature. My mind, body, and spirit needed this so bad. I recommend this place to anyone who needs to disconnect from the grind and reconnect to the Earth. I will be back here again in the next several weeks!

Great stay! Everyone is quite laid back, the property is well tended and neat. Be aware that walking to most campsites/bell tents or the cabin requires a good deal of downhill travel and uphill travel to get back to the center of camp and parking area. I would estimate the equivalent of 3 to 5 flights of stairs is common to most of the individual camp sites with the exception of Hill Top. There is an accessible cabin under construction.
If you like a laid back atmosphere where you can take time away from your devices, this is a great place to do it.

This was our first time glamping, and we really enjoyed our stay! The campground was peaceful and beautiful, and our tent looked out into the trees with a view of the creek below. There was also a trail to explore and a beautiful pond with lots of ducks. It really felt like a special place.
They truly thought of so many details. Our tent had lights, charging stations, nightstands, , a fridge, plenty of sleeping space, towels, bottled water, a Keurig and just about everything we could need. We ordered firewood and s’mores, but there was also a propane fire option available. Even the path to our tent was lit at night, which made everything feel magical.
The bathrooms and showers were clean and centrally located. The tents are fairly close together, but ours still felt peaceful and had a wonderful view from the deck.
We happened to stay during extremely hot weather, close to 100°F, so keeping the tent cool was a challenge. Overall, though, we had a wonderful first glamping experience and really appreciated how much thought went into making the tents comfortable and welcoming!

Loved staying here, and will definitely have to go again sometime to really explore the whole property. We were only there for the night on our way home from a long road trip. Leigh was very communicative and greeted us and showed us around when we arrived. She was very friendly and helpful!
The campsites were in the mountains, tucked into a quiet forest without light pollution, so you could really see the stars. The A-frames are comfy and cozy, and have decks with seating, fire pits, and coffee machines. The bed was so comfortable! Plenty of places to plug in your electrics. The property was extremely well-kept on terms of cleanliness. The bathrooms are close by and also very clean and well stocked. Such a beautiful way to end our adventure!
The path up the mountain is pretty steep and rocky, so wouldn't recommend taking a low-sitting vehicle. Some of the A-frames have steps and rocks to hike over, but there are other accessible options on the property as well.

Very friendly, rustic and quaint. We slet in the cabin and it felt like sleeping in a treehouse. Trails were not that hard of a hike. The river was worth the small trek! Showers were nice and the composting toliet was surprisingly very clean. Clothing optional was easier than we thought and we didn't want to leave. Pro tip: bring a portable battery operated fan during the summer months.

The cabin and the sorrounding area was amazing. Thre is something to do for all ages and types of people. Clint was super attentive and helpful, really appreciated all the help and the quality of stay. Having the MTB trails footsteps from your door is priceless!!

Weekend Trip to Rock Creek Retreat & Ventures
To say my fiancé and I really enjoyed ourselves, is an understatement!! We kayak and do remote primitive camping on the side of rivers 1-2 every summer. This was a genuine relaxing vacation compared to those trips. We showed up on a Friday and immediately explored the water while we let the air run in our dome to cool it down a little. Some parts of the creek are knee deep but for the most part it’s pretty shallow. Which was perfect for us! We did experience thunderstorms, but it was actually very soothing!! Hated we couldn’t do a fire the first night but made the most of it with sandwiches and snacks! The next day we spent all day down in the creek. We took our chairs that came with the dome and placed them in the deepest part of the creek. That was SO relaxing! We loved it! Sat for hours! When we got hungry we made a fire and cooked some hotdogs! The table and chairs inside the dome were great to eat at and cool down with the fan in front of us before going back down to the water. We used the griddle for dinner to cook our bacon and burgers, while we used the attached rack in the fire pit to cook our canned baked beans and potatoes! We ate great!! The bed was very comfortable for us, we aren’t that picky since we usually are on the ground. The power bank was a great plus and came in handy when we were stuck inside from the rain. We talked the whole night about coming back with friends and family! We really really enjoyed ourselves and will be back! Thank you, Kara!
