Beautiful spot off the 101
Season was super welcoming and great to talk to. And as others have mentioned, Roscoe, is a sweetie and equally as welcoming. We were fortunate enough to be the only campers here for the trail end of the weekend. So it was super peaceful. Even though it was 90 during the day, the spot by the river allowed for shade and cool breeze. The morning and evening air was delightful. Plop I'm the hammock chairs or unfold your chair for a great reading spot. Would be great to come back when there's more water in the river for a bit of kayaking. But Season will let you know of a great swimming hole.
Spot #1 would be good for vans if you don't have acrylic windows or don't mind a little brush to the top/sides of the van. But ask her first as she may have cleaned it up. It's a lovely spot in the shade, under the trees and overlooking the river.
Spot #3 and #4 would also accommodate a van. We ended up in spot #3 as it was closest to the river, and got late afternoon shade.
There is road sounds and my husband is a light sleeper but commented that it sounded like white noise and he slept great, though we were in the van with windows open.
We would definitely be back. Close proximity to the river, a state park and Garbervile isn't too far away for more needs. Wish we had more time!
Chill stay on the eel
I stayed with Seasons for 3 nights during my trip up north extending my trip an extra day since it was such a nice spot. Seasons is a really nice person who was a lot of fun to talk with. The camp is well put together with all that you need for a comfortable trip. Great view of the river and a sweet claw tooth bath you can fill up with hot water. On top of that she has the sweetest little dog named Roscoe who would follow me around and keep me company. I will definitely be back and highly recommend her campsites! Have fun
Garden side camping/ friendly host
Wow! This is a great stop for anyone on a northern California road trip. It is so convenient for anyone with activities in the area and her garden is an absolute education in local herbs and vegetables. She has several camping sites, and they are all far enough from each other. (much farther than the state campgrounds)
The sweet smells of plants and flowers are delightful. And you camp right next to them. I especially noticed a rich scent that she identified as " Flowering tobacco" . Season is an engaging and fun young woman who's willing to share her local knowledge.
The whole experience was a 10 out of 10.
