Former Dairy Farm but, the milking and hay barns burned many years Past. Harold's View Farm now camping. There are 4 entrances to the 80 acres of hay fields, now camping sites. Three entrances are for two sites each, the house entrance is for any questions. Please stop in if you have questions. The fields have been maintained to some degree until 2019 when Lee came up with the idea of primitive camping. The land turns out to be ideal because each site makes you feel like the only campers there. New this year you will find a picnic table for 6 and a 3 Ft. dia. fire pit with adjustable grill that flips out for open fire @ each site. Another new item is open to the sky "Hot Shower"

Madine's site is a larger mowed grassy meadow overlooking rolling hills, a beaver pond, mountains and farmland. The site is situated in the corner of the meadow with shade trees for the afternoon. Madine's is the only site in this meadow providing campers room for large tents, car camping, camp trailers and still have space for activities. A nice 3-foot diameter steel fire ring is a great spot to watch the night sky. The access to the meadow goes up a short hill so a vehicle with high access or AWD/4WD is recommended. There is a spot to park right near the road as well. There is a short walk back on a grass path towards the farmhouse to a porta potty. There are walking paths on the farm, and lots of bird watching. Harold's View Farm is within easy driving distance to Stowe, Smugglers Notch and Burlington. NOTE the first two photos are entrance and sign. We have three new items this year 1. A picnic table for six. 2. A three-foot diameter metal fire ring with adjustable grill. 3. A hot shower with changing room: you park in driveway of farmhouse and follow signs as you walk along side of our chicken yard.

Large, mowed section of meadow with fantastic views of Mt. Mansfield and surrounding green mountains. One of two sites that cannot see each other in this meadow provides room for large tents, car camping, camp trailers and still have space for activities. A new 3-foot diameter fire ring is a great spot to watch the night sky. The site is backed up to the maples for afternoon shade. Many opportunities for adventure include, rivers, hiking, skiing, mountain biking and more. We have three new items this year: 1. A picnic table for six. 2. Handle wood is a new location on the North property line with great views of Harold's meadows.  [NOTE: use entrance #3] There is a 3'-0" diameter steel fire ring along with a picnic table and additional firewood can be foraged in the woods to the left of the site. The campsite overlooks many meadows and there is a well-established beaver pond that hosts wildlife species. Feel free to explore the wooded ledge and walk on the many mowed trails on the property.  When arriving you enter at the third farm access drive marked entrance 3. If needed there is additional parking area in the beginning of the fields. Please NOTE the first two photos one shows you what the entrance looks like the other is the sign. We have three new items this year: 1. A picnic table for six. 2. A three-foot diameter metal fire ring with adjustable grill. 3. A hot shower with changing room: you park in back of house and follow signs as you walk past our chicken coop. NOTE: Towels and wash cloths are not included.

Pride Rock is located down into a beautiful hay field with views looking along the valley. There is lots of wildlife viewing, especially on top of the epic rock pile. We have a new 3-foot diameter steel fire ring with adjustable grill. This is one of two camping sites in the grassy meadow, but it is not within view of the other site affording you privacy. You can put your tent up under the rocks for some afternoon shade or in the large, mowed area above the rock pile. There is a porta potty located at the top of the field that is shared with one other site. There are walking paths all around the fields at Harold's View farm for all of our visitors that have been mowed in the tall grass which is great for walking or mountain biking. Pride Rock at Harold's View Farm is close to Burlington, and the Smuggler Notch and Stowe Areas.  We have three new items this year:  1. A picnic table for six. 2. A three-foot diameter metal fire ring with adjustable grill. 3. A hot shower with changing room: you park in farmhouse driveway and follow signs alongside the chicken yard. Please bring your own shower stuff. Note: Donations welcome.

Spacious cabin with canvas/screen front on elevated platform. 16 x 14 foot cabin with outdoor carpet flooring. Save the hassle of packing and setting up a tent. At Pete's Lookout you will enjoy beautiful views, calming sunrises and afternoon shade. There are 2 maple trees right next to the cabin, perfect for a hammock. The cabin is being offered with 1 queen bed and two cots. [Please bring your own bedding] as the mattress has a cover only to make it easy to keep clean. Bring your family and friends along with some air mattresses. AWD or FWD required to drive to this site, it would be a short walk if you needed to park a 2wd at the meadow entrance. Porta potty is a short walk up near the farmhouse. NOTE: the only electricity we have is solar lights and a power pack for charging phones. We have three new items this year: 1. A picnic table for six. 2. A three-foot diameter metal fire ring with adjustable grill. 3. The on-site open shower is hot. Hemlock campsite features a fully furnished twelve feet by sixteen-foot NEW Canvas Kodiak Cabin Lodge Tent on a wooden platform. [NOTE: use entrance 3 follow field road to Port-a-potty on right then you will see the Hemlock sign] Enjoy a queen-sized memory foam mattress as the night sounds lull you to sleep. The site is very secluded with plenty of privacy. You can drive to the site with a car, van or pickup. Bring your own cooking and cleaning kits. There is no drinking water near this site. Please note that this is a tent and bed you do not have to set up - Just everything else you would take camping. The only electricity we have is outside solar lights. Such a beautiful place! We enjoyed our stay. The directions could have been more helpful if they indicated that the sites were on a loop. The shower was such a lovely experience- being outdoors with the breathtaking views but protected and in warm water! The owner was lovely!

Upper Meadow
This is a strategically located camp if you want to notch a couple of VT 4k peaks: Mt. Mansfield and Camels Hump. In fact, you can see them both from the Upper Meadow, entrance #1 campsite! Other pros: hot shower and wash station + porta-potty, picnic table, fire ring w grill grate, and free fire wood. Everything was very tidy. Also, because this is an open field, great star gazing. The host greeted us in person upon arrival. Constructive feedback: Not the best comms over Himpcamp messaging. Also, it was not clear Upper meadow was right on the road and you could see the host's and neighbor's houses. Still I would pick Upper Meadow over other more private sites there because of the aforementioned and proximity to shower & john. Not much traffic on the (dirt) road too.

Pete’s lookout was the perfect base camp from Burlington. The structure itself is entirely unique, very cozy yet bright. The outdoor hot shower was top notch as well as the wash basin. It was super easy to find the site and we arrived well after dark without a hitch. The solar powered lights and charging bank was also very helpful and the panels were drawing enough power to charge a phone even when cloudy. One thing I would suggest to bring is earplugs. Thankfully I had some, bc a heavy rain on the sheet roof was loud as a stadium! Loved it, thanks again!!
