We stayed at Susan River Homestead over the Easter weekend and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better farm stay experience.
There was so much for the kids (and adults) to do. From horse shows and horse riding to feeding the cows, it really felt like a proper hands-on farm experience. The playground and trampoline kept the kids entertained for hours, and the lake was a huge highlight — perfect for fishing or getting out on a jet ski or ski boat.
The property itself is massive, so you never feel crowded, and there’s plenty of space to relax and enjoy the surroundings. On top of that, they’ve got great facilities like a pool and a volleyball court, which just adds even more to do during your stay.
What really made it special though was the family running the place — genuinely friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do. They made everyone feel right at home.
The Easter Sunday bonfire was the perfect way to top off the weekend — such a great atmosphere and a really nice touch that brought everyone together.
We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a fun, family-friendly getaway with plenty to do!

Susan River Homestead was a great place, a full package all in one spot. You could easily spend days there without getting bored, as there are plenty of activities and games to enjoy.
The only downside was a sewage smell that started after dark. I think it might have been because we camped in a low-lying area where water collected.
That said, we’d definitely go back, just with a smarter choice of tent spot next time!

Camped at the powered sites Spacious and well maintained cleaned amenities short drive to Hervey Bay if you feel like a day at the beach we enjoyed our stay and will be back.

I just spend one of the most amazing weekend here !!
Abbie and the whole team were wonderful with us. My three year old daughter can’t stop talking of the farm and their animals.

We absolutely loved our 4 days at Susan River Homestead. Everyone was so welcoming! There are heaps of things to keep the kids busy. If they not running or kicking a ball around there is a trampoline, tennis court, games room and pool to keep them busy. The cow feeding was the funniest and most entertaining thing I have done at a homestead. Highly recommend. We will be back 😊

Had a fantastic weekend here. The campground is clean, well looked after, and very well organised. The sites are spacious and peaceful, with a great relaxed vibe.
Facilities were in great condition, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, a really easy and enjoyable stay.
Would definitely recommend and will be back for sure.

I loved tent camping at Suzan River Homestead. They were very welcoming and super helpful at all times, including public holiday. The place has an amazing structure. My friends and I had an amazing New Years holiday camping and would definitely come back!

My friends and I really enjoyed staying at Susan River’s campground, all the facilities are great, everything’s clean, and you don’t have to leave to enjoy the day because they have so many activities. I highly recommend going for a few days!

This place is conveniently located. It is run down compared to the photos on the app. Apon arrival was told no noise past 9pm. Group went till 1am, reported it to the front desk that morning, was advised should have called the number on site map. I mean, why am I calling someone at 1am when they could be doing supervised runs. Some site locations not labelled correctly. Playground for kids not in working order, bike track could do with a touch up. Guests arriving after hours should have a cut off period, not arriving at 10:30pm setting up making huge amount of racket while 2 kids trying to sleep. Time and effort spent on the place would make this a 10/10 place to stay, unfortunately due to inconsiderant guests i believe the owners have given up to provide a great location due to left etc. More activities potentially to get involved in the place.

I loved tent camping in the powered site at Susan River Homestead. My husband and I had a Fabulous time with our 11 year old son. The view from our site was just Beautiful and so relaxing! We had so much fun playing table tennis and shooting hoops in the games room. It was relaxing have an afternoon swim in the pool each afternoon to cool off.
I went for a horse ride … it had been years since I was on a horse! The Instructors we so kind and helpful. I rode Odin who was a big but gentle horse. I can’t speak high enough of these camp grounds! We will definately be back soon!

The amenities available are fantastic especially being able to escape from the heat in the cinema room with a new born baby!
Horse rides were also a massive highlight!

The amenities were lovely and clean, well kept.
The campsite is VERY open with little shade
We chose to camp at the far end near the lake for privacy but it’s close to the road and adjacent to the campsite is FIFO accommodation and it gets very noisy with cars going out at 4:30-5:30am. We still had a relaxing time as any place is what you make it.

Property has wide big areas to spread out and have your own space that look over the livestock dam. For the price, amenities and location between 2 towns is a winner! Heads up highway noise can be subtle in the background.

Lots of room so you're not crammed in like sardines like some places. Amenities were always clean and showers were hot with good pressure. Kids had fun swimming, playing tennis as well as kayaking on the dam. They had plenty of room to kick a ball around and ride their bikes. Also got to witness a newly born foal when we woke up one morning. Hosts were lovely to deal with.
Would happily spend another weekend away here.
