We had a great time at Onespot Crossing Campground. We had an incredible river view, there were a bunch of deer around, and it’s only 40 minutes from the city we’re definitely going again!!
Not what we expected!
When we arrived to the campsite there was tons of construction happening and big burning pit, it was not a very welcoming atmosphere! The site numbers were very confusing! We drove around for almost an hour looking for our site but had to call the front number! The roads are very bumpy and rough as well so be prepared for that! It went to voicemail stating “you have reached Tracy” when my call was returned a lady said she would meet me to show me where my campsite would be! When she met me I asked if she was Tracy and instantly got attitude from her stating that wasn’t her name! Very welcoming right from the beginning….not! This campsite is not private! We got put in basically an open field with a bunch of other campers who were tenting! The only reason we decided to go to this campground was because they offered river side lots! Which was not the case! We had to walk 15 min to get to the river as there are no paths to access it! As well as trek through heavy bush and slopes to get down to it! They charge for firewood even though explicitly stating on their Facebook page that it is free with no limit! $10 for 5 pieces of wood is a bit ridiculous! This campground does not have any activities or nice walking trails! I would recommend only sleeping here and having your day planned out elsewhere! During our nights we dealt with loud partiers and constant dog barking! They were “fixing” the roads so there was a bobcat right outside our camp working the whole two days we were there! Save your money and stay at another campsite that offers what they say! Overall, I would not stay here again but that being said it would be an okay place to sleep just for the night and go do other stuff during the day, such as kayaking or going to the provincial park! Very short distance to the town which was very convenient!
