Quiet, majestic back to nature spot! This is a place to get away from a busy life. With close proximity to Winchell Lake, this land is ideal for fishing, hiking or simply enjoying the breathtaking scenery. We have 4 campsites available for tent or RV/trailer campers. If you're bringing an RV, we have two power outlets and water available. You will be parking on a field and the site requires levelling. Electricity and firewood are both available for purchase (see extras below). Please add this to your reservation at the time of booking. Campfires are permitted, pets are welcome. Potable water, picnic table, and outhouse are all available. We have cows, goats, chickens, horses and dogs on the property that generally love people. :) I have only one dog and typically allow dogs to run off leash. We do have to be careful that it doesn't turn to a dog gang as this happened once and they took down one of my goats. The goats Hon and Chewy are okay but it took months for poor Hon to heal. I also worry about the chickens so please keep and eye on your dogs! Lots of treed areas for private camping, horseback riding hiking and walking! Bird watching is big around here as we are on a bird migratory path. We are just above Winchell Lake and less than 10 km from Water Valley Golf Course and Saloon. Please recognize that you are visiting a Ranch not a campsite. We are sharing our piece of heaven with you and you are helping to support our animals and their heaven. Chickens are "True" Free Range and hand fed every morning. Eggs are $10 a dozen to pay for their feed. :) Every spring the rain tends to cause ruts and washes out some of the road on the way to the back forty where the meadow is. We gather rocks on the property to fill the ditches but the early part of the year the roads can be bumpy. Please ask the conditions of the road when you book if you have concerns. Thanks!

Collin’s Wood is a very special place indeed. The land was bought by my grandfather years ago when he moved to Canada from England and wanted to chase his log cabin dream. Our main cabin my family built from trees on the land, entirely by hand. We have photos of the trees being cut and the bark being peeled off. Since then, we’ve made many changes out there, we now have a guest cabin that used to be a Teacheridge (back when teachers would live in a one room building beside the school), eventually it was turned into a cafe and now it sits on our land as a guest cabin. This place is so magical. With a quarter section of land I grew up running through the forest with my friends and learning about what the land has to offer. My parents have spent every spare weekend out there making this paradise into what it is today. All the buildings were created by my family through labour and love. The kitchenette has everything you need to prepare meals: a gas stovetop, sink with gravity water faucet, and a YETI cooler stocked with ice packs to keep your food cool. To access the king sized bed in the loft, a sturdy ladder must be climbed (see photo). Loft and ladder are “use at your own risk.” A wood burning sauna is located just steps from the main house. Walk out on the wrap-around deck and light the fire in the sauna to get your sweat on. During the winter months, a snow bath is recommended for refreshment. (it feels so good!) We also have a handheld shower to rinse off with after the sauna. A wood-burning hot tub bathing area is available for bookings from May to October, and no hot tub is available in the winter months when it is too cold to change the water for each guest. There is a dry flush toilet inside the cabin (in its own bathroom) so there’s no need to freeze your butt off in an outhouse. Sanitary wipes and hands sanitizer are conveniently located in the bathroom with the wash basin in the nearby kitchen. There are over 6 outdoor sitting areas, including decks, grass, a sandy beach, and beautiful flowers and trees. You'll enjoy the sight of squirrels, birds, wildlife, and the horses out back. Accommodations • 20’ Yurt: Fully equipped with 2 king-size mattresses, chairs, nightstands, water, and snacks. • 420 Trailer: A fully powered 44’ 5th wheel trailer, fully stocked and converted into a 420 trailer with a blackout living room with tapestries, curtains, black light, and a stereo. The trailer has 1 bedroom, a couch, a day bed, a big full kitchen, and a bathroom with electricity and warm water. Note that there is no indoor toilet; the outdoor kitchen has hot water, and there is an outhouse out back. Amenities • Outdoor Full Kitchen/Bar: Running hot/cold water, fridges, BBQ, and a sit-around fire table. • Private Beach: Swings, hammock, pyramid, small volleyball, badminton area, and a small fire pit. • Large Fire Pit: Located on the grass area, with the first tub of wood free with booking. • Outdoor Shower: With hot water and an outhouse for the bathroom. • Hot Tub and Cold Tub: There is a 2-man hot tub with a cold tub for a cold plunge or hot tub use. This is a $75 add-on and requires 36 hours' notice. Activities and Extras Full selection of water toys available for rent: • Pedal boat • Canoe • Paddleboard • 2-person kayak • Floating dock • Pedal bikes • Hot tub and cold tub The garage is a tachyon energy space, full of crystals, drums, instruments, and a tachyon room for possible use with drumming ceremonies. Check-In and Nearby Amenities Check-in is at 3 pm, but you can come earlier if you want to rent the water toys and hang at the beach, walk the village, or play mini-golf until check-in. There’s lots to do here, and you can possibly rent toys on the check-out date too. Bentley is a 10-minute drive with a full grocery store and restaurants. Lacombe is 15 minutes away with all amenities. Note: No drinking is allowed, but smoke as much as you want. Staying in Poppy was a very pleasant experience! We arrived late, in the dark. We were struggling to find our spot (albeit, I did not look at the instructions carefully). Pat came to find us at the entrance, and helped escort us to our stay. They also provided some extra water (due to the water line being shut off because of cold temps) a heater and some heating bottles to keep us warm. The location is very beautiful, with some cool amenities available throughout the grounds. All in all, Geri & Pat are very welcoming, thoughtful and we would love to rent out the whole grounds in the future! Thanks again!

Loved poppy bus, had a great experience living in here as it is my dream to eventually do this. Enjoyed how there was so many hiking trails everywhere. We spent an hour or more looking and exploring. My partner and I absolutely loved the cabin. Beautiful details, comfortable bed, nice touches and everything you need to set up a little camp kitchen on the porch. The property is beautiful, the cabin is surrounded by trees. The little outhouse is very cute and does not smell like an outhouse because of the composting toilet. It even has a bag shower. I wish we could have stayed longer, I hope we'll be back!

Forest Glen Yurt is our answer to the requested "remote" site at Collinswood Retreat. Tucked in the woods close to the walking trails, this site is WALK IN, so pack only the essentials! There will be a wagon to assist you on the 10 minute walk from the parking area to the yurt as needed. Onsite there is an outhouse, BBQ, fire pit & food storage locker.

Weekend Trip to Experience a Stay at Go Hard Ranch

Arriving on this land, I felt a sense of peace roll through me. My girlfriends and I stayed in the Tipi. It was magical. The grounds are immaculately kept. We were very spoiled with the washroom facilities as well as the outdoor kitchen. The beds were extremely comfortable with soft linen and warm blankets. The host did not miss any details to help us feel comfortable and met all of our amenity needs. The sunrise and sunsets were beautifully held on the horizon. Nature was all around us, including the cows and beautiful majestic white bull. All of the gardens and flower beds held details and surprises. Dragonflies were everywhere! A short distance away, we visited Chip Lake. Here we were able to have a drumming ceremony as well as enjoy some paddle boarding. The water was not conducive to us swimming in it, as it is shallow and appears to have a vast ecosystem. We did travel 30 minutes up the highway to the Pambina river and enjoyed a refreshing cool off. I would highly recommend visiting this site. I have full intentions of gathering my whole tribe of friends for a full weekend next year.

This is the second time I've visited. Camped last year and stayed in the cabin this year. Absolutely love this space. Very quiet and peaceful. Spent most of our time outdoors, hoping it would rain so we could listen to it hit the metal roof, no such luck. Cabin is well stocked and the hosts are very accommodating. Will definitely be back!

This is, I believe, my fourth stay! It's a magical place that I look forward to visit every year. The Happy Hut and Treehouse are so cozy, every little detail is thought of and you are looked after so well! The trails are amazing for long walks, the views spectacular, loved meeting the horses again this year. And Geri's massages are a must! See you again in 2026!
