Tyn Y Ffridd Farm offers you the chance to pitch your tent between the mountains and the sea of North Wales. It’s a 10-minute drive from the farm to Bethesda on the edge of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park and the same distance to the Menai Bridge which connects beach-fringed Anglesey with the Welsh mainland. Staying here puts you in prime position to climb up Yr Wfydda (Snowdon), and whizz down zip lines at Penrhyn Quarry – perhaps with a day at the beach or exploring Beaumaris Castle in between. The campsite itself is a simple but scenic base from which to explore all this.
There are technically ten camping pitches at Tyn Y Ffridd Farm but it’s bigger than the stats imply. This is a first-come-first-served, pitch-where-you-please affair and there’s plenty of room to spread out. In fact, campers have access across 30 acres of this working farm. Most choose to stay in the main camping field for easy access to the facilities but if you’re feeling adventurous you can strike out into the surrounding fields and woodland.
Back in the main camping area, toilets, showers and a handy communal kitchen are all housed in a former farm building. While pitches are off grid, the kitchen has a microwave, kettle and fridge and there’s a brick-built barbecue and pizza oven outside as well. Campfires are allowed and there are a limited number of fire pits available to borrow free of charge.
Campers are not the only guests on Tyn Y Fridd Farm as there are holiday cottages and cabins here too (bookable elsewhere). The set up offers a further sociable space which is shared between all guests. The Cow Shed is an undercover space with sofas, seating, a pool table and ping pong; a great asset in bad weather. But when the sun shines, it’s time to get out there and explore all that North Wales to offer – so much of it, within easy reach of here.
Enjoy a night under the stars in your own tent. Get back to nature & enjoy some time away from the hustle & bustle with friends and family. Located at Tyn Y Ffridd Farm on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park you will have access to enjoy 30 acres of private farm land with views across to the Snowdonia Range. There is a shower & toilet block plus a communal kitchen for you to use. This is a working farm so if you choose a remote part of the farm away from the toilet & shower block you might be joined by sheep & cows - so don’t forget suitable footwear.
