Loved our stay at Ar Y Mwny. The perfect mix of wilderness and simplicity, but with the luxury of flushing toilets, hot showers and plenty of communal fridge and freezer space.
Our host, Norman, was lovely and made us feel really welcome. He’s got the balance just right, relaxed and unfussy, but with everything you actually need.
The location is superb, nestled between rolling fields with stunning sea views, and only around 10 minutes from the historic city of St David’s. There are so many beautiful beaches nearby.
Our personal favourite was Solva, where you can swim in the beautiful estuary and spend an afternoon with the kids crabbing. We also had a brilliant time catching waves at Newgale.
One evening we headed to Porthgain for the best fish and chips ever, followed by a few drinks at the Sloop Inn and a game of football. Pretty perfect.
If you’re into no visible frills but plenty of simple quality, this is the place for you.
We’re seasoned campers, so we don’t need much, but Ar Y Mwny gets the balance absolutely right.
My only recommendation would be a sign at the end of the lane… although perhaps the added elusiveness is exactly what makes it special!

My dog and I had a wonderful stay at this campsite . It was peaceful, quiet, and felt wonderfully remote—the perfect place to relax and switch off. Norman was welcoming, and the facilities were spotless.
There were fridges and freezer with plenty of room, a locker for charging phones, lights… (and bonus was watching the swallows going in and out the washing block )
Each pitch felt like its own little private pocket, giving plenty of space and privacy. Having a water point and fire pit at every pitch was a fantastic touch and made our stay even more enjoyable.
Lovely walks from the campsite and nice pub in the village.
We’d definitely return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tranquil camping experience.
A true gem! Great private pitches, the best view ever, water and fire pits on each pitch, clean showers and toilets, chilled and relaxed atmosphere….thank you! If you don’t like big noisy sites, this is perfect! We will be back 😊

Beautiful site with walks to the sea and ancient stones. Norman has thought of everything you might need.
Beautiful quiet location for walking the coastal path. A sign at the end of the track might be handy although the directions were very good. Sites felt quite private. Fresh water available, contained areas for evening fires were available, 3 showers and toilets. Decent kitchen. Nearest pub for evening meal 0.7 miles walk. Good value.
Beautiful place with everything you need! Private pitches, fire pits and water tap on every pitch, showers, toilets, fridges, phone charging, microwave and washing machine and tumble dryer. 15 minute walk to Abercastle and the coastal footpath. Easily the best place we have camped! Kids loved the trampoline. Easy going relaxed atmosphere. I literally cannot praise this campsite enough 😃

Lovely walks along the coast path and a cozy pub in the village.
Nice options for pitches with some privacy. We tucked in a lower corner with a lovely view. This was farthest from the facilities where water was hot and fridges cold. Norman was friendly and available, but left us to our own devices. Much nicer than pitching in an open field with rows of tents and vans.

Great location surrounded by beautiful countryside. Possible to get a private spot for small or large groups surrounded by a hedge / trees.
Large pitches and lots of lovely nature to enjoy. There were swallows nesting in the toilet block when I was there, which made my day. 30 mins walk from the beautiful coastline and Careg Samson
Beautiful setting with individual, private pitches each surrounded by mature trees and shrubs. We had the choice of which pitch to choose for our tiny caravan. We went for complete shade because we'd driven for hours in a heatwave! But you can stroll to more open parts for glorious coastal views. Friendly, helpful welcome.

Loved Norman’s campsite. It’s rustic with an almost wild feel (just how I like a campsite to be) with lots of space between pitches and good hot showers. It was super peaceful during our stay.
It’s perfectly located for walking. The coastal path and the beach are around 20 minutes walk away. The beach stunning and is dog friendly. A highlight for my dog was dog ice-cream from the tea room in the village.
Thank you Norman for sharing your beautiful part of Pembrokeshire. Will definitely be back for another stay with my dog.

Very welcoming and wild campsite, peaceful bolthole in rural mid wales. Pub a walk away on a private road which was nice and only £4.40 a pint! The pitches are divided up well offering privacy by grass banks between. Lots of Bird and Bat activity. Excellent provision of amenities - showers, microwave, fridges, washing machine, etc. Wish I could have stopped for longer and would visit again!
Absolutely beautiful site, close to cliff path, and Norman couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful. Kitchen and bathrooms spacious and spotless. Each pitch super spacious and like your own little ‘area’ with fire pit. Can’t wait to come back.
This site feels pleasingly remote and informal, but is in easy walking distance of a great little pub. I've seen some reviews that were critical of the showers and toilets, but I thought they were great. Sparkly clean, and worked really well. Only criticism - we were too excited on arrival to take in the explanation of where things were and how to find footpaths and so on. Maybe a single sheet of A4 with important information would have been helpful?

Great location, easy access to the coastal path. Lovely big pitch, lots of space and privacy. Loved the fact we had a firepit with logs provided at no charge.
Quiet and comfortable site. The pitches are a good size and the views were great. Facilities are good and big. Norman, the owner, is a lovely chap and really helpful.

Excellent location, beautiful views and 30 min walk to the sea.
Loved the area and our weeks stay.
Site seems tired and could definitely do with a freshen up and update.
Only two showers on the site and being old up-cycled porto loos may be great for the environment but they need to be replaced.
5 loos (2 in the shower areas) were clean but again need attention.
Can be a long walk to facilities from far ends of site.
Free firewood and fire pit a bonus.
Quiet, apart for one night !!!
Are we glad we went? …… Yes

Lovely views and good hot showers. We didn't use the other facilities on offer but everyone seemed happy!
Absolutely loved Norman’s campsite. All the pitches were individual and generously spaced out. Lots of privacy. The facilities were great too. Perfect location for endless coastal path walks. Have recommended it to so many friends already.
This place is great! Birds by day and bats dipping overhead at night. A beautiful campsite with lovely pitches and a sense of privacy amongst the various trees and shrubs, kitchen facilities also really useful, and the best woodpile I’ve ever seen. A short walk away from the local pub, and really close to the coastal path…..oh and Norman is top value, had me laughing my head off within the first 2 mins of chatting
