Nestled in the trees on a large deck with the sounds of birds and squirrels all around, this unique structure spans 15 ft across with 14 triangular sides. It holds a double bed, dinning table, rocking chair, 3 burner stove, sink with water, full kitchenette and all the cooking utensils you need. The wood stove keeps the space very warm and cozy and we offer professional massage and reiki. You can walk, ski or bike for hours along a river. Or visit towering gypsum cliffs that host huge bat caves.. Our yurt is tucked away in the trees of our 20 acre wood lot. We provide lots of wood and fire starter for the wood stove but guests should have experience with wood stoves (or be really keen to learn). The stove is big enough to easily heat the whole yurt to cozy comfort but guests should expect to have to keep the stove going in order to keep the space warm and this may mean stoking it once in the night. We provide lots of extra blankets and two pairs of extra slippers for those who forget to bring their own. The solar panel creates enough power to run the lights, charge a cell phone and sometimes a computer but not much more. The space is beautiful, unique and quite dreamy but it is rustic. There is a composting toilet next to the yurt (with hand sanitizer but no sink) and outdoor showers (with hot water) near our farm house. There is a three burner propane cook stove, cooking and dining wares and a small sink for dishes. There are all the utensils that you may need to cook for yourself but there is limited counter space so cooking elaborate meals is possible but could be cumbersome. There is a cooler and we can stock it with ice packs upon request. We supply coffee and a french press,. We also offer massage and reiki to guests for $90 (60 min). Morghain Lee is a massage therapist and Reiki Master and enjoys blending these two body therapies for a holistic healing experience. There is an outdoor fire pit and star gazing chairs. We ask that you only use natural soaps in the shower, the sink, pond or river. We have some Dr Bronners if you like:) Cell reception on the land depends on the provider but most people have weak service (one or two bars). Enough to maintain a phone connection (if you are not walking around too much) but not enough to download videos. Some people have more or less. We do allow pets but we ask for an extra $15 contribution to compensate for the extra cleaning. We also ask that dogs not be on the bed and that they don't chase our chickens or kittens. There are outdoor showers available in spring, summer and fall when the pipes won't freeze. Wonderful place, definitely coming

We loved our stay here, the yurt was so nice and had a real woodsy feel to it, I was worrying it would be hot inside but it was very comfortable. There was a puppy there that kept up company and he was my favorite part of the trip. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it was easy to find the place. Everything we needed was there just had to bring a couple groceries and there was even a fridge to keep things cool.

Si vous voulez une déconnexion avec la ville, vous serez dépaysé. Dans la nature. Loin de tout. L'hôte à répondu à tous mes courriels et demandes rapidement via l'application. Toutefois, la yourte n'était pas à la hauteur de nos attentes en termes de qualité et de propreté. Le matériel de construction de la yourte était dans un mauvais état. Exemple: certaines attaches pour les toiles étaient brisées, toile déchirée à certains endroits ou mal assemblée (des moustiques se sont invités), possibles traces de moisissures du côté de la tête de lit. Eau potable fournie par le propriétaire. Toilette sèche à quelques mètres de la yourte. Pas de douche.

We absolutely loved our stay at the yurt!! The property is super cool & the yurt itself is very cozy. It had everything we needed & was a perfect balance between nature and comfort. Aaron was so friendly and made us feel at home - he even froze our ice packs for us in his house that we needed for camping. He also has a very cute dog :) Would 100% return!

Yurt/Yome was very cozy and had enough amenities that our first day/night that had to be spent inside due to rain was very relaxing. Depending on your reason for vacationing, the Yurt/Yome has pretty good WiFi for being in the woods in rural Nova Scotia. Which allowed us to spend the evening watching movies while listening to the thunder, lightning and rain. If exploring is more of your thing, the farm/neighboring area has plenty of stuff to offer as well. Bring bug spray because the mosquitoes can be absolutely relentless at times but that's pretty normal for NS. Aaron was very responsive to any needs we had and his dog Bo has a great temperament and got along great with my dog. I would consider booking here again, maybe in the fall when we can make better use of the wood stove. Thanks for everything, Aaron!

Nice relaxing glamping experience

It was fantastic. A little bit of a walk to get from your vehicle to the yurt but definitely worth it. We want to come back again with our kids next time. Aaron was very friendly and helpful. And they have the best dog, very friendly and got along wonderfully with our two dogs. Would recommend the stay for sure, it's a beautiful piece of land with nice woods to walk through or just relax in the yurt.

Great Place in Nature!!

If you want a quiet place to go that is completely in nature, then this is a great place to go! The host, Aaron, is really nice, helpful at any time with anything you need, great conversations and, at the same time, very respectful of your privacy and space during your stay. The Yome is cozy, slept really well, and it has all the basic needs for your stay! I will definitely be returning for another getaway from the city! It was a great experience for sure!

The Yome in Maple Grove

We had a wonderful stay in the Yome at Maple Grove Permaculture, and will definitely book again! The Yome is the perfect place to get away, relax and reconnect with nature. The cozy bed and woodstove made for a great night's sleep, and we loved cooking in the kitchenette which had everything we needed to make our meals. Thank you Aaron for a wonderful getaway!

Relaxing, Comfortable, and Peaceful

We had a great stay at Aaron's Yome. I stayed the night with my wife and our newborn son. It is a beautiful Yome and we had an excellent time. The Yome is very comfortable and had everything we needed. It has a wood stove, cooking stove, kettle, dishes, utensils, tea, coffee, etc. It even has solar energy and WIFI! There is a place to have fires outside and there is a lot of fire wood. In the evening it is so quiet and peaceful. All you can hear is the nature. Communication with Aaron was very easy. He was very accommodating and made sure we had a great stay. I would highly recommend a stay at Aaron's Yome and we look forward to staying there again in the future.

We just left, and I would recommend to anyone! It was absolutely charming. My husband always wanted to stay in a yurt, so I thought let’s book one for our anniversary. Aaron has done this entire setup so extremely well. Leaving barely any environmental footprint. The fact that it was raining made it even better, falling asleep with the wood stove going, listening to the rain! I’m hoping we book this every year for our anniversary. Thanks so much Aaron, we really enjoyed it!
