We've got a great A-frame... check it out! We've been hosting since May '22 and it has been a blast! We pride ourselves on offering our guest plenty of space and a peaceful, country setting. Biking distant to nearby trails - 2 miles to Slaughter Pen or Handcut Hallow. Less than 1 mile to the Snowbird trailhead, part of the Back 40. *Firepits are also at sites 1-4, as well as one in the meadow for dispersed camping.

Pea Ridge Bike Camp

The Pea Ridge Bike Camp has primitive campsites available for visitors to Northwest Arkansas and can accommodate tent campers, campervans, small and large campers and RVs. Even smaller Class A motorhomes (length isn't an issue but weight on a grassy field might be a concern should it rain) We offer large, spacious campsites along with firepits and large cable spool tables at each campsite. Potable water, outside sinks and large ADA portable toilets are centrally located to most of the areas. There is a large in-ground community firepit, 2 picnic tables, horseshoes and a bikewash station onsite. We are currently providing free firewood for each firepit. Our property consists of 10 acres of flat open areas, shady areas and wooded areas. All of the property is shaded by 7 pm. We are located on a gravel road in the country, yet only 1/8 mile to state highway 72. Pea Ridge Bike Camp is about 7 miles to downtown Bentonville and only 5 miles from Exit 88 and I-49. Restaurants, food trucks, groceries, banking and laundry facilities are only 2 miles away in Pea Ridge. This is a place where you can be very close to everything Northwest Arkansas has to offer and while still being in the country. A peaceful place that you can easily return to after exploring many of the popular bicycling and hiking trails in the area, visiting Crystal Bridges or other local museums, or attending one of the many events, such as Bikefest, Bikes, Blues, and Barbecue, the annual craft fairs, or performances at the Walmart Amp or the Momentary. We are also close to Eureka Springs and Beaver Lake. We welcome you to stay at the Pea Ridge Bike Camp. We will allow low-noise generators to be used, but have limited them to dispersed sites. * We do require you to book into a dispersed campsite in order to do so. ** Please let us know If you are planning to use a generator. There are cliffs, and plenty of scenery to enjoy. We are a short drive away from Eureka Springs, Turpentine Creek(big cat sanctuary), War Eagle Cavern, and War Eagle Mill. Hobbs State National Park is close by off Scenic Highway 12, with biking, and walking trails galore! We are also close to many of the NW Arkansas mountain biking trails in the area! Access to Beaver Lake is a short drive or a long hike down the scenic rock roads. Due to the remote, and private location, we want to remind anyone consuming alcohol under the age of 21 will not be tolerated. Safety is very important to us. We are looking forward to seeing you. We have a private swimming area on our property which is just a short hike from the developed campsites (Please ask the camphost for directions). There are miles of county maintained bumpy dirt roads leading to the site. Expect your vehicle to get dusty. There is a creek crossing that is required to reach the campsites. We recommend high clearance and/or 4WD or AWD vehicles. If you are unable to cross the creek, you will need to park in the parking area and walk across the creek to reach your site.

Don’t forget your fishing tackle if you’re camping at Roaring River State Park. The namesake river is a premium destination for trout fishing in Missouri, stocked with rainbow trout year-round. If this isn't your idea of a good time, opt for the 10 miles of hiking and cycling trails winding through oak woodlands and glades. Cool off at the swimming pool in summer, go bird-watching, or visit the nature center, then set up camp at one of three riverside campgrounds. Rustic cabins are also available.

Tips for snagging a campsite

You can reserve the park’s 185 campsites in advance via the Missouri State Parks website. Reservations are only possible from March through October. Outside of this period, only a few campsites can be reserved—the rest are available on a first-come, first-served basis only.
Campsite reservations open 12 months in advance and can be booked up until 7pm on the day of arrival.
Campsites can book up as fast, especially on summer and holiday weekends. Book a minimum of three months in advance to avoid disappointment.

When to go

Roaring River State Park is open year-round, but the main season runs from March through October. It’s still possible to camp in the off-season, but only one of the three camping loops stays open. Cabins can only be booked in season. Fishing is enjoyable through all four seasons, but summer remains the most popular time to visit, when the swimming pool is open and wildflowers bloom along the riverbanks.

Know before you go

Roaring River State Park is about a 90-minute drive southwest of Springfield.
There are no admission fees for Missouri state parks, but camping reservation fees apply. Trout tags and fishing permits are also required.
Park facilities include a park store, restrooms, and picnic areas. Accessible campsites, restrooms, day-use areas, and fishing access points are available.
