Camp under the stars and let the prairie breeze flow past your tent. Close to Selkirk, Manitoba, for all your essential needs. You will likely see us hammering away in our blacksmith shop - Cloverdale Forge is located on the same property. Bring your own tents or van/truck campers! If you're bringing a camper, the sites are flat and can accommodate vehicles up to 20ft long (electrical hookup available). Option to camp on mowed grass or in a pine grove. Amenities include a toilet, potable water, wifi, and a picnic table. Our property is only a few miles from Lower Fort Garry National Historic Site and Selkirk, Manitoba, where there is easy access to the Red River.

Site 2 - Prairie Winds

Hospitality Serenity Beauty Perfect

Karen was so welcoming and lovely. We are already planning our return trip again next year. The stars are so clear! We are far enough from the city to avoid light bleed, but close enough that we could drive into Selkirk for morning coffee. There was a blacksmith workshop onsite Friday - it was fascinating - but didn't disturb us whatsoever. Really interesting! We did spend a LOT of time around the campfire singing, trying to befriend a rather shy cat, and soaking in the peacefulness of this lovely place. The location is great, the facilities better than I expected, and the people. . . wow. Karen and her partner made this a magical weekend with their gracious hospitality. I highly recommend this site to other inquisitive campers seeking a peaceful getaway.

Site 2 - Prairie Winds

Hidden Gem!

Prairie Winds was all we could have wished for! A beautiful setting with the old traditional log home and Matt's Black Smith shop. We camped in the shade under the trees with a view on the vegetable gardens and the old oak trees. The shower was hot and the compost toilet clean and odorless. Karen and Matt are true super hosts. Personal and ready to answer any question, but respecting our privacy. For us it was the perfect quite setting while visiting the Winnipeg Folk Festival.

Prairie Winds

Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Quick responses, close to Winnipeg (and other tourist sites), and beautiful property! Very easy to find. Karen was welcoming and accommodating. We were pretty thrilled about the bathroom and shower. Luxury after a week at the provincial parks. This was our first time using Hipcamp and we will be using it again because of this stay.
