Absolutely beautiful place to camp! weather was rough at first but so worth sticking it out! Nelson was an amazing host! Definitely would say check it out!
Great secluded spot with beach access. Was able to pull right up with our suburban and 17foot trailer with minimal effort, a larger trailer and truck may have some difficulty pulling right up to the prime window view, but wouldn't be a big deal to stay back a bit. Fire bowl had a wheelbarrow with wood ready to go and plenty of beach wood around to collect with permission. Sunrise was insanely beautiful. Only thing we would change is staying longer!
One of the most beautiful campsites that I have experienced in 50+ years of camping. Private beach with the site just feet from Lake Winnipeg. Nelson was a wealth of historical information.
We really enjoyed our night out on Nelson’s land!
The directions were great on the Hipcamp website, plus we had a host that left us alone to enjoy nature the private beachfront. Would definitely recommend it.
What a beautiful location on the lake. Perfect tent site that you can spread out a bit as there several pockets areas to pitch a tent or a small overland set up. Nelson returned all my texts in a timely manner and offers a fire pit and wood when there are no fire bans. Highly recommended!
Amazing stay, we found a ittle piece of heaven. Our family of three stay one night and we loved how peaceful our stay was. I hope to come back soon.
Thanks Nelson for being a great host.
Spending a night at the Lake Winnipeg beachfront meadow was a real treat. Our site was quiet with the sounds of birds in the trees and waves lapping on the beach. We enjoyed the night sky packed with stars, even though we didn’t see the northern lights we hoped for. A great host where communication and help guiding to the site was effortless. Will visit again.
When I first booked it I didn’t know what to expect but sure enough as soon as I arrived I was looking at one of the most beautiful views and sounds you can ever imagine in Manitoba! Highly recommend, and Nelson was so helpful and accommodating.
Nelson was a wonderful host. He was kind enough to meet us during check in, guide us to our site and even provided free firewood. The campsite was peaceful, private and in a great location close to the beach, fishing docks and a boat launch. Highly recommended!
What a beautiful spot! Nelson gave great directions and even met me at the entrance to ensure I knew where I was going. The grass was freshly mowed and the spot was stunning, overlooking the lake with your own little beach. Waking up to the sound of the waves was pretty special too. We only spent the one night as we were making our way out west, but this would also be the perfect place for a weekend getaway. I would highly recommend this place!
I loved camping on Nelson’s land!!! The view was amazing and being able to have access to the water was the icing on the cake!! I would definitely stay again…just not during fish fly season!! Lol
We loved camping on Nelson’s corner! The view was stunning, wood and fire pit provided. Nelson was friendly and answered all questions. It was a perfect alternative to provincial park camping.
Beautiful camping spot right at the lakes edge. Beautiful view of the water, beautifully cut and clean. Lots of sunshine and a cool breeze to keep you cool. Fire pit and fire wood supplied. We had to fire going day and evenings but we cook alot on the firepit. Nelson was a great host and so patience with us four generations of women staying out alone. We arrived in the dark and Nelson was there to assist. No moquitoes only black flys but under control with Raid HOUSE AN
Nelson was lovely and the camping spot was fantastic. The stars were shining bright and falling asleep to the sounds of the waves crashing was so sweet.
This was such a beautiful place to camp, This was exactly what I've been looking for. The beach was right behind our tents and we got to sleep to the sound of waves and nature that you don't get from campgrounds. I will definitely be back here whenever I am able and the space is available.
we loved this stop. One of our most beautiful stops during our crosses Canada from Quebec to B.C. the view is splendid and Nelson is very friendly. I highly recommend you.
A wonderful host with a lovely space to share. Our RV was a wee bit tall (10') for a few of the beautiful trees along the scenic driveway, and still we managed well with Nelson's guidance. Just a short drive in to find a spacious clearing with a gorgeous waterfront view. This was our first Hipcamp reservation and we are grateful for the experience.
Wow is all I can say. We had the most amazing time on this trip. Nelson was very accommodating and easy to contact. The space is absolutely breath taking we set up our tent right beside the water, had a really nice bonfire and a very cozy peaceful sleep to the sounds of the waves crashing! It was like our own little private get away! I highly recommend this spot and we will definitely be back!!
This is a great little camping spot! We were able to set up camp in the mowed meadow just feet from the water. The views were great and Nelson was a very friendly and accommodating host. Typical with most camp spots near the water bug spray was a help. We would happily stay again!
I really enjoyed camping with my son in my new old pop-up camper. Nelson was very welcoming, and helped us with popping the camper up, as I didn't realize it really was a job for 2
grown ups. He told us all we needed to know about the property (where the poison ivy was!) and I felt that he was always accessible if we needed anything, even though we really didn't end up needing anything.. The location by the lakefront was breezy, beautiful and private. Look forward to going back!
If you’re looking for an authentic camping experience next to the water, but without the noise and annoyance of staying at a ‘campground city’, this site is perfect! It was just primitive enough to feel like camping in the wilderness but with the safety of being on private property. The campfire grill and wood provided was excellent. And Nelson’s knowledge of the area was wonderfully informative. If we ever ran into trouble he was just a text or phone call away. I will be back in the future!
