Welcome to our bright, spacious cottage on the east shores of majestic Lake Winnipeg, nestled within Manitoba’s only protected UNESCO World Heritage Site — Pimachiowin Aki, “The Land That Gives Life.” Here, deep boreal forest meets untouched shoreline, and adventure begins the moment you arrive. Just under three scenic hours north of Winnipeg, Loon Straits is a hidden gem where wildlife outnumbers people and the stars shine brighter. Watch pelicans and eagles soar, keep an eye out for foxes or even the occasional moose, and fall asleep to the sounds of nature. Built in 2013, our open-concept getaway features two bedrooms, one bath, a sunroom, and a wraparound deck with stunning lake views. Sip coffee at sunrise, BBQ at sunset, nap in the hammock, play lawn games, gather around the campfire, or launch your canoe or fishing boat from the private dock just steps away. Unplug. Explore. Breathe deep. This is lake life — wild, peaceful, and unforgettable. WATERFRONT: granite rock, accessible for swimming and fishing. Gorgeous untouched sandy beaches within walking distance. Bedroom 2 has 2 twin beds, dresser and closet, sofa bed in living room - sleeps 2 Bed linens and towels provided. Things to do: Great fishing, hiking, exploring, biking, swimming, nature-watching, relaxing, campfires, watching the sunrise and sunset over the water, marvel at the stars, listen to the loons call. PLEASE NOTE: Our property is remote - meaning there are no grocery stores, restaurants, or gas stations within a 150 km radius of Loon Straits. Please be prepared with enough food, gas, water, spare tires, and a reliable vehicle if you decide to book with us and make the journey!
