The sunset is excellent and the stars at night are breathtaking. You'll feel completely removed from the hustle and bustle of the city.
There are walking trails throughout the property and rough hiking in the woods.
You can see all kinds of wildlife if you are quiet enough! The open fields provide beautiful views of the night sky and a few lakes nearby, including our own private pond for kayaking, canoeing or swimming.

There's a shady bonfire location in the bush with hammocks, access to a BBQ, on site kayak rentals, coffee, ice cream, cold drinks and other conveniences. And plenty of free parking. Accessible without driving down dusty gravel roads. Portable toilet on site. I had trouble uploading photos, otherwise I'd have better ones.

Beautiful hiking in the boreal shield rocks on site while searching for seasonal berries, mushrooms and beautiful lookouts. You can walk along the Winnipeg River and Pine Creek which are both amazing for spotting ducks, geese, swans and other birds nesting along the shore. Some sites have full amenities while others are as rustic and secluded as you want. The sites each have a firepit to enjoy the evenings while watching the beautiful sunsets. Firewood available. This is an active farm property so there could be some animal sounds but it only adds to the beauty of this place. There is great access to a large dock for tying up your boat, swimming or casting a line and catching a variety of fish. We also offer paddle boat, paddle boards, canoe and fishing boat rentals at extra costs. There is a large yard for yard games and a volleyball net if you're looking for something sporty to do. We also offer accommodations for horse owners as we have fenced paddocks with water and miles of trails to explore nearby, please inquire for additional pricing. We will be continuing to add more sites throughout the season but we have many available. We look forward to meeting you.

We are a small Eco Resort in Sandilands Provincial Forest. All 4 cabins are solar, and off grid. Just 3 min for Woodridge, and set on the western border of the Sandilands provincial Forest. It's a cottage community and sees a steady influx of visitors. There are groomed snowmobile trails, cross country ski trails, as well as a ATVing, and hunting in the area.
SANDILANDS PROVINCIAL FOREST:
The soil is still a reminder of the ancient beaches, but is now covered with a rich forest of mixed hardwoods and majestic pine. The high sand ridges of the Sandilands area, known as Bedford Hills and Cypress Mountains, are the second highest point of elevation in Manitoba.
Additionally you will have access to all the shared amenities of the eco-resort including a wood-fired barrel sauna (all year), outdoor shower (in the summer)
As well as the Organic swimming pool.
There are 3 other unique rents on the property
Fire pit firewood can be bought $20 for a wagon (Woodstove wood is provide).

The Lilypad measures 10 x 20 feet, with a large covered deck that is just steps from the water. Although it is tiny, the cabin has everything you need to have a relaxing and fun time! The garden doors open into a beautiful space - with high whitewashed pine ceilings and white shiplap walls. The decor is a mix of scandi and boho styles - with a touch of vintage. The large glass garage door opens to provide panoramic views of the bay. Spend the morning lounging in bed, with the garage door open, and enjoy the breeze drifting in and the wild life floating by. Or curl up in the hammock chairs with a good book and a cool drink and feel the warm summer sun on your skin.
Our compact kitchen has stainless steel countertops and a small sink. Our vintage dining table and chairs are just the cutest and just the right size for 2 to 3 people. The living/sleeping area consists of a queen size futon and twin size loft bed (should you need the extra bed). The rustic outdoor toilet and shower are just around the corner of the deck and add to the charm of the property.
The Lilypad sits on a large flat granite rock which curves down to the water. The rock is the perfect place for sunbathing, doing a few yoga stretches, and enjoying the campfire, You can throw a line in and spend the afternoon fishing, or take the plunge into the cool waters of Lake Winnipeg. Rent one of our kayaks or canoe and take a paddle out to one of the many tiny islands that dot the bay. So many great things to see and do at The LIlypad at Loon Straits.

We have kept each site very private and once in your spot, you are out of site of other campers to immerse yourself in the beautiful surroundings of Oak, Alder and Pine trees. Each site comes with its own large firepit for cozy evening barbecues.
If you are looking for larger group bookings. We offer "The Social." An area big enough for around 8 tents, smaller RVs, and trailers. All set round a large central firepit.
There is some stunning crownland to the North of the campsite with ATV and walking trails to Norris Lake and the surrounding area.

We are a small Eco Resort in Sandilands Provincial Forest. All 4 cabins are solar, and off grid. Just 3 min for Woodridge, and set on the western border of the Sandilands provincial Forest. It's a cottage community and sees a steady influx of visitors. There are groomed snowmobile trails, cross country ski trails, as well as a ATVing, and hunting in the area.
SANDILANDS PROVINCIAL FOREST:
The soil is still a reminder of the ancient beaches, but is now covered with a rich forest of mixed hardwoods and majestic pine. The high sand ridges of the Sandilands area, known as Bedford Hills and Cypress Mountains, are the second highest point of elevation in Manitoba.
Additionally you will have access to all the shared amenities of the eco-resort including a wood-fired barrel sauna (all year), outdoor shower (in the summer)

The Lilypad measures 10 x 20 feet, with a large covered deck that is just steps from the water. Although it is tiny, the cabin has everything you need to have a relaxing and fun time! The garden doors open into a beautiful space - with high whitewashed pine ceilings and white shiplap walls. The decor is a mix of scandi and boho styles - with a touch of vintage. The large glass garage door opens to provide panoramic views of the bay. Spend the morning lounging in bed, with the garage door open, and enjoy the breeze drifting in and the wild life floating by. Or curl up in the hammock chairs with a good book and a cool drink and feel the warm summer sun on your skin.
Our compact kitchen has stainless steel countertops and a small sink. Our vintage dining table and chairs are just the cutest and just the right size for 2 to 3 people. The living/sleeping area consists of a queen size futon and twin size loft bed (should you need the extra bed). The rustic outdoor toilet and shower are just around the corner of the deck and add to the charm of the property.
The Lilypad sits on a large flat granite rock which curves down to the water. The rock is the perfect place for sunbathing, doing a few yoga stretches, and enjoying the campfire, You can throw a line in and spend the afternoon fishing, or take the plunge into the cool waters of Lake Winnipeg. Rent one of our kayaks or canoe and take a paddle out to one of the many tiny islands that dot the bay. So many great things to see and do at The LIlypad at Loon Straits.

Was able to pull right up with our suburban and 17foot trailer with minimal effort, a larger trailer and truck may have some difficulty pulling right up to the prime window view, but wouldn't be a big deal to stay back a bit. Fire bowl had a wheelbarrow with wood ready to go and plenty of beach wood around to collect with permission. Sunrise was insanely beautiful. Only thing we would change is staying longer!

My husband and I had a great time at Pete’s Place. Peter was fantastic! When we arrived, he showed us around his property and let us choose the spot that we would like to park our camper and set up our tent. If we needed anything, he had it on hand. No matter how busy he was, and man was he busy, between checking in guests at his numerous airbnbs, cleaning, running kayaks, paddle boards & life jackets back and forth from his shop to the water, and everything else he had on the go, he still always made time to check in on us. He answered any questions we had and gave suggestions of where to go and what to see and also made sure to warn us of the abundance of poison ivy. He was also great with our dog, who’s quite protective and can be a little extra at times. We can’t recommend Pete’s Place enough. Definitely a 10/10 experience.

This was by far the best camping/glamping experience we've ever had. Glen gave us such a warm welcome, even before we arrived at his property, greeting us at the entrance. He took the time to explain everything in detail and treated us to an off-road ride, showing us the stunning acres of his forested land. He also provided firewood and coffee in the morning—such a wonderful gesture. Glen is truly a wonderful host.
The tipi was incredibly cozy, with all the bedding already set up for us, which made us feel right at home. We felt completely safe and at peace during our stay. One thing I’d recommend is bringing insect repellent, as there are quite a few bugs, but that’s to be expected in a nature setting. The best part is that you’ll have the entire place to yourself, which makes it feel even more special.
The property has a full-sized BBQ, which was perfect for cooking, and Glen’s chicken farm added a nice touch—he kindly brought us fresh eggs for breakfast.
If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, I highly recommend this place. I’ll definitely be coming back with friends in the future!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Beautiful property and very private site in the forest. The open fields were amazing for a walk with our dog on the cut grass trails. The property is a quick ~ 30 minutes to Winnipeg. There is a railway line to the south which you can occasionally hear but didn’t bother us. The host was able to provide water from their well for our RV water tank on the way in. We will definitely return on our next trip in the area. Loved it!

Peter the host was very accommodating, he was there and greeted us when we got to the campsite and showed us around and made us pick which spot we wanted , he’s very nice and always checked on us and making sure we’re ok.
