It's secluded and quite quiet with several kilometers of mowed, signed, and mapped trails, a pond with a floating dock and seating area, a common area with outdoor games, a fire pit, and a small stage for campers/renters to interact. There are 2 tiny houses available for rent: 1.) Micro Cabin in the Secluded Forest 2.) The Blue Owl Tiny House Experience. 3.) There are 3 non-serviced, clearly signed as RV#1, RV#2 and RV#3. These are back-in RV sites to accommodate travel trailers, fifth wheel campers, Class A, Class B, Class C RVs. All styles are welcome. 4.) Tent sites are available with parking for one vehicle. Both cabins, each RV and tent sites all have a picnic table and firepit. We have 4 traditional outhouses, a septic holding tank and a black-water tote for your convenience. Garbage and recycling receptacles are placed conveniently. We've set up a couple of challenging Scavenger Hunts along the trails. Printed checklists and pencils are in the book box located at the common games area near the stage. Berry picking Saskatoons, Cranberries, Chokecherries and Loganberries are abundant while in season. There are plenty of wildflowers and an opportunity to see wildlife in it's natural setting. There have been many deer sightings and on occasion coyotes and bears have been in the area as well. The popular tourist town of Gimli is a short drive away, where you'll find shopping, restaurants, swimming, fishing, boating, farmer's markets and festivals. Gimli Motorsports Park is close by featuring auto and motorcycle racing.

Great secluded spot with beach access. Was able to pull right up with our suburban and 17foot trailer with minimal effort, a larger trailer and truck may have some difficulty pulling right up to the prime window view, but wouldn't be a big deal to stay back a bit. Fire bowl had a wheelbarrow with wood ready to go and plenty of beach wood around to collect with permission. Sunrise was insanely beautiful. Only thing we would change is staying longer!

Great warm people. Property bit rough when you come in but hip camp field in the back was beautiful and separate from owners house. Lots if privacy. They came to check to see if we needed anything. They were wonderful. Bit loud with rosd noise at first but after 9pm quiet. One train came thru. But all in all lovely.

I loved the, what felt like a “hideout” for the tent camping. Pete was amazing, offered help for everything. Not to mention the kayak rental was only 12! I almost don’t want to share, will be going back for sure!

Peter was such a wonderful accommodating host...eager to help us with every little thing we may need - such a nice guy! Highly recommend!

It is a nice location close everything is close by. Pete gave us directions and had no issues finding the place. Pete met us and gave us a couple options for where we could set up. It is close to the boat launch, beach and the old quarry. We enjoyed our stay and Pete is a good host. We will be going back to stay again.

My husband and I had a great time at Pete’s Place. Peter was fantastic! When we arrived, he showed us around his property and let us choose the spot that we would like to park our camper and set up our tent. If we needed anything, he had it on hand. No matter how busy he was, and man was he busy, between checking in guests at his numerous airbnbs, cleaning, running kayaks, paddle boards & life jackets back and forth from his shop to the water, and everything else he had on the go, he still always made time to check in on us. He answered any questions we had and gave suggestions of where to go and what to see and also made sure to warn us of the abundance of poison ivy. He was also great with our dog, who’s quite protective and can be a little extra at times. We can’t recommend Pete’s Place enough. Definitely a 10/10 experience.

This was by far the best camping/glamping experience we've ever had. Glen gave us such a warm welcome, even before we arrived at his property, greeting us at the entrance. He took the time to explain everything in detail and treated us to an off-road ride, showing us the stunning acres of his forested land. He also provided firewood and coffee in the morning—such a wonderful gesture. Glen is truly a wonderful host. The tipi was incredibly cozy, with all the bedding already set up for us, which made us feel right at home. We felt completely safe and at peace during our stay. One thing I’d recommend is bringing insect repellent, as there are quite a few bugs, but that’s to be expected in a nature setting. The best part is that you’ll have the entire place to yourself, which makes it feel even more special. The property has a full-sized BBQ, which was perfect for cooking, and Glen’s chicken farm added a nice touch—he kindly brought us fresh eggs for breakfast. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, I highly recommend this place. I’ll definitely be coming back with friends in the future!

Weekend Trip to Bonnetts Boreal Forrest

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Beautiful property and very private site in the forest. The open fields were amazing for a walk with our dog on the cut grass trails. The property is a quick ~ 30 minutes to Winnipeg. There is a railway line to the south which you can occasionally hear but didn’t bother us. The host was able to provide water from their well for our RV water tank on the way in. We will definitely return on our next trip in the area. Loved it!

What a beautiful location on the lake. Perfect tent site that you can spread out a bit as there several pockets areas to pitch a tent or a small overland set up. Nelson returned all my texts in a timely manner and offers a fire pit and wood when there are no fire bans. Highly recommended!

We loved it and had an awesome weekend. It was rustic camping kinda vibe . Peter the host was very accommodating, he was there and greeted us when we got to the campsite and showed us around and made us pick which spot we wanted , he’s very nice and always checked on us and making sure we’re ok. Our kids had a great time kayaking , swimming and visiting the goat island. Peter has different kind of water toys so you won’t get bored . We will for sure come back.
