We have been recycling this farm for years. It was owned previously by a couple who worked for a nursery and they planted many varieties of trees. Later it was part of a Manitoba pilot project for hi-bred poplar so there is a 14 acre poplar forest that was planted on a grid. It is a very unique place. We love it here and hope you do too!

With 5 sites to choose from, you can select a very quiet and peaceful spot in the trees or field or choose to be closer to the house and barn with wifi signal, running water and flush toilets.
While you’re here, you can go on nature walks, raid the garden, play yard games, enjoy a bonfire, and explore the woods. If interested, ask for a tour of the 3 season party hayloft with antiques, vintage video games, an old pool table, and a zip line.
We have stationary and portable fire pits for your campsite. We can help with some firewood for campfires, a picnic table to enjoy your meals, and potable water that is available through a tap (both hot and cold water). All sites can be accessed by a traditional car, no off-roading or 4-wheel drive vehicle is needed.
If you’re interested in exploring the area, Selkirk, Manitoba has plenty of fishing and a marine museum. We are also a short drive to Lower Fort Garry National Historic Site. Oak Hammock Marsh Wildlife Management Area is a 17-minute drive. One of North America’s birding hotspots and a great destination for people of all ages! This 36km2 Wildlife Management Area features a restored prairie marsh, aspen-oak bluff, waterfowl lure crops, artesian springs, some of Manitoba’s last remaining patches of tall-grass prairie and 30 kilometres of trails for you to explore.
Gimli or New Iceland is about a 30-minute drive north and is a great summer or winter destination. Rich in history, art, culture and outdoor discovery it has many restaurants, lovely beaches and the New Iceland Heritage Museum.

Located a short 5 minute drive from the tourist town of Gimli, we've got 120 acres of forest. It's secluded and quite quiet with several kilometers of mowed, signed, and mapped trails, a pond with a floating dock and seating area, a common area with outdoor games, a fire pit, and a small stage for campers/renters to interact.
There are 2 tiny houses available for rent:
1.) Micro Cabin in the Secluded Forest
2.) The Blue Owl Tiny House Experience.
3.) There are 3 non-serviced, clearly signed as RV#1, RV#2 and RV#3. These are back-in RV sites to accommodate travel trailers, fifth wheel campers, Class A, Class B, Class C RVs. All styles are welcome.
4.) Tent sites are available with parking for one vehicle.
Both cabins, each RV and tent sites all have a picnic table and firepit.
We have 4 traditional outhouses, a septic holding tank and a black-water tote for your convenience. Garbage and recycling receptacles are placed conveniently.
We've set up a couple of challenging Scavenger Hunts along the trails. Printed checklists and pencils are in the book box located at the common games area near the stage.
Berry picking Saskatoons, Cranberries, Chokecherries and Loganberries are abundant while in season. There are plenty of wildflowers and an opportunity to see wildlife in it's natural setting. There have been many deer sightings and on occasion coyotes and bears have been in the area as well.
The popular tourist town of Gimli is a short drive away, where you'll find shopping, restaurants, swimming, fishing, boating, farmer's markets and festivals. Gimli Motorsports Park is close by featuring auto and motorcycle racing.

A secluded tipi located in the forest on the back half of an 82 acre property. Here you will have access to your own private tipi that is 24 feet in diameter and 28 feet tall.
Inside our tipi you will find a homemade queen size luxurious log bed and 2 cots as well as double pull out futon with room for 6 people. Beside the tipi there is retro fitted off grid trailer with a double sink and a compostable toilet for your privacy. There is plenty of room for your toiletries, food and any other belongings that need to be stored. A full size propane bbq and a screened in fire pit with benches to enjoy an Evening bonfire. You have access to 3.5 km”s of walking trails to enjoy the scenery of many species of birds and wildlife

Welcome to our bright, spacious cottage on the east shores of majestic Lake Winnipeg, nestled within Manitoba’s only protected UNESCO World Heritage Site — Pimachiowin Aki, “The Land That Gives Life.” Here, deep boreal forest meets untouched shoreline, and adventure begins the moment you arrive.
Just under three scenic hours north of Winnipeg, Loon Straits is a hidden gem where wildlife outnumbers people and the stars shine brighter. Watch pelicans and eagles soar, keep an eye out for foxes or even the occasional moose, and fall asleep to the sounds of nature.
Built in 2013, our open-concept getaway features two bedrooms, one bath, a sunroom, and a wraparound deck with stunning lake views. Sip coffee at sunrise, BBQ at sunset, nap in the hammock, play lawn games, gather around the campfire, or launch your canoe or fishing boat from the private dock just steps away.

Great secluded spot with beach access. Was able to pull right up with our suburban and 17foot trailer with minimal effort, a larger trailer and truck may have some difficulty pulling right up to the prime window view, but wouldn't be a big deal to stay back a bit. Fire bowl had a wheelbarrow with wood ready to go and plenty of beach wood around to collect with permission. Sunrise was insanely beautiful. Only thing we would change is staying longer!

Great warm people. Property bit rough when you come in but hip camp field in the back was beautiful and separate from owners house. Lots if privacy. They came to check to see if we needed anything. They were wonderful. Bit loud with rosd noise at first but after 9pm quiet. One train came thru. But all in all lovely.

Location location location = 5 stars! Minutes to all the Steep Rock sites (trails, cliffs, beach) and minutes to the gorgeous limestone rock quarry with its blue water & amazing trails. Peter was such a wonderful accommodating host...eager to help us with every little thing we may need - such a nice guy!

I had a lovely time camping at Noah and Cheryl’s tent site! I came with little plans other than visiting the Oak Hammock Marsh, and Noah gave me many suggestions for local things to do. I enjoyed some time on the community beach and enjoy some food at the local restaurants. I felt like a local! I enjoyed my camp site under the stars with plenty of room to spare. I felt like I had a good distance and privacy from the other campers. Overall, Noah and Cheryl were very kind, I really enjoyed being at the site, and I will have to come back again with some friends. Thanks for having me!

It is a nice location close everything is close by. Pete gave us directions and had no issues finding the place. Pete met us and gave us a couple options for where we could set up. It is close to the boat launch, beach and the old quarry. We enjoyed our stay and Pete is a good host. We will be going back to stay again.

My husband and I had a great time at Pete’s Place. Peter was fantastic! When we arrived, he showed us around his property and let us choose the spot that we would like to park our camper and set up our tent. If we needed anything, he had it on hand. No matter how busy he was, and man was he busy, between checking in guests at his numerous airbnbs, cleaning, running kayaks, paddle boards & life jackets back and forth from his shop to the water, and everything else he had on the go, he still always made time to check in on us. He answered any questions we had and gave suggestions of where to go and what to see and also made sure to warn us of the abundance of poison ivy. He was also great with our dog, who’s quite protective and can be a little extra at times. We can’t recommend Pete’s Place enough. Definitely a 10/10 experience.

This was by far the best camping/glamping experience we've ever had. Glen gave us such a warm welcome, even before we arrived at his property, greeting us at the entrance. He took the time to explain everything in detail and treated us to an off-road ride, showing us the stunning acres of his forested land. He also provided firewood and coffee in the morning—such a wonderful gesture. Glen is truly a wonderful host.
The tipi was incredibly cozy, with all the bedding already set up for us, which made us feel right at home. We felt completely safe and at peace during our stay. One thing I’d recommend is bringing insect repellent, as there are quite a few bugs, but that’s to be expected in a nature setting. The best part is that you’ll have the entire place to yourself, which makes it feel even more special.
The property has a full-sized BBQ, which was perfect for cooking, and Glen’s chicken farm added a nice touch—he kindly brought us fresh eggs for breakfast.
If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, I highly recommend this place. I’ll definitely be coming back with friends in the future!
