Y Llew Bach is a our one bedroom 300 year old cottage ideal for couples and friends. The double bed is upstairs and we have a small double sofa bed for 1 adult or 2 children downstairs. Next door, open 4 nights a week is our quiet country pub The Lion Inn serving amazing homemade food and takeaway pizzas. Deep in the Welsh countryside situated on The Pilgrims Way, we offer spectacular views within easy reach of Snowdonia and the Welsh coast. Local attractions include Zip World, Betws-Y-Coed, Conwy, lots of castles and Beautiful beaches. We offer lots of home comforts, including a super comfy double bed with TV/DVD player on the mezzanine level where although there is restricted headroom, the view is definately worth it! Downstairs there is a small sofa bed and tea and coffee making facilities, fridge, microwave and toaster, plates and cutlery provided and ensuite shower room. Towels and bedding also provided. Easy to find, we have one parking space next to Y LLew Bach and plenty of space for another car opposite. We're surrounded by fields, sheep, cows and the odd pheasant and we're very dog friendly. Please note there are no shops in the village, though there is a little hut Y Cwt which stocks fresh eggs, milk, yogurts, ice cream and cakes and is just a short walk from thr cottage. The nearest small shop is 10 minutes away in the local town of Llanwrst offers a supermarket, take aways and cafes, a lovely river and even a swimming pool!

Weekend Trip to Greenoak Hideout

We had such a lovely stay at Greenoak. The hosts were so friendly and approachable and there were lots of lovely small touches that made the yurts feel homely and comfortable. The log burners and electric blankets meant that we were warm over night and had a really comfortable sleep. We are looking forward to going in the Summer to be able to enjoy more daylight hours. The boys (4 and 7) loved all of the friendly animals and the play equipment on the land, as well as the hot tub! We will definitely book again and would recommend to our friends and family! Thank you for a lovely stay and we look forward to visiting again next year!

Weekend Trip to Greenoak Hideout

The setting was just perfect for our family of five (including two dogs and a 4 year old). The Yurt was comfortable, clean and very cosy. The private shower and toilet facilities were great, as was the hot tub. We had a trip to the local nature reserve during our stay, however think our daughter and the dogs were just as happy in the grounds with lots to explore, very friendly animals and lots of activities including trampoline and climbing walls. Thank you.

Really well laid out site. Quite steep in places with rough ground but fine if you are mobile. Toilet and shower facilities are excellent, as is the wash up area with phone charging facilities and shared fridges. Fantastic base to explore the area, right next to the Thurscross reservoir.

Our stay at Over the Moon was absolutely perfect. Ruth was super friendly and gave clear instructions on how to find them, and replied quickly to any questions. A lovely place to stay for camping with the kids, even with the midges :). The toilets were immaculate and plenty of shower rooms. We had a mix up with our pitch (i thought i had booked an electric pitch but it hadn't went through on hipcamp), the owner was brilliant and very accommodating. I wouldn't hesitate to book again if we are down that way.

Have already recommended this place to friends. We had a lovely stay in the sunshine. The hut is has everything you need in a compact but unsquashy space. Enjoyed some fine walks and a super day out in Ruthin. We'd also recommend the Red Lion for a visit. Ruth & Jude were both very helpful and welcoming. I'm sure we'll come back.

I had a wonderful stay in this charming shepherd’s hut nestled in a peaceful meadow. The hut was beautifully equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable and cozy getaway. The surrounding area was lovely, with fruit to pick and plenty of space for the dogs, who absolutely loved it! The hosts were fabulous—friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I couldn’t have asked for more. Highly recommend this little gem for a relaxing countryside retreat.

Over The Moon is a charming shepherd’s hut, and it was an absolute delight to stay there. The accommodation is thoughtfully designed and beautifully finished to a high standard. All the pitches face the coast so you can have spectacular views over the sea, in this case the North Sea to Scarborough (15 minutes’ drive), giving you a front-row seat on one of England’s most spectacular coastlines. Here you can wake to vibrant sunrises and on clear evenings to watch sunsets in the west. There’s plenty more going for this peaceful site as well: walkers will perk up on hearing that it’s right on the Cleveland Way National Trail, surfers can catch waves at popular Cayton Bay (five minutes’ drive), and families can head for Go Ape or scenic biking trails in Dalby Forest (40 minutes). There’s also a farm shop 15 minutes’ walk away where you can get a decent coffee and homemade food. There’s plenty of room so you’re free to pitch up where you wish. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, and barbecues or firepits are allowed as long as they’re raised off the ground to protect the grass. The camping area is exposed and can get windy at times, so take care when erecting tents and ensure everything is well secured. Facilities are simple: chemical toilets and a water supply. The water supply is from the mains but we recommend bottled water for drinking to be safe. There are no showers on site. Solar showers can be bought on-line for about £10. The access road is alongside a grass field, so please ensure that your vehicle is suitable for the terrain. Local attractions and activities include: - Cleveland Way National Trail (direct access from the site) - Cayton Bay (surfing): five minutes’ drive - Filey Brigg (walking and fossil hunting): 10 minutes - Scarborough (castle and beach): 15 minutes - Alpamare UK (indoor/outdoor pools): 15 minutes - Hunmanby Gap (quiet beach): 15 minutes - Sea Life Scarborough (aquarium): 20 minutes - Dalby Forest (walking and Go Ape): 40 minutes.
