What a little Derbyshire gem: back to basics Whitehouse Farm Campsite is a simple site in a most scenic setting five minutes’ drive from the pretty village of Tideswell. The site’s central location in the Peak District National Park means it’s a top spot for those who want to ramble or ride bikes – several circular trails leave from Tideswell and the traffic-free Monsal Trail is a five-minute drive away. And there’s plenty more activity if you require it too, as activity centres nearby can sort you out days of horse riding, abseiling, climbing and caving. All this activity isn’t mandatory, of course – this is an equally fine location for days pottering off to local pubs, pigging out on pudding in Bakewell or taking a leisurely stroll around the Chatsworth Estate, 20 minutes away. And if even that’s too much, you’d be welcome to spend some time loafing about on site: there’s heaps of space here, and as facilities have been kept quite minimal (just showers and toilets) there should be a good serving of peace and quiet to go with it all. Guests are welcome to light up a barbecue or campfire for cookouts and keeping warm; Tideswell’s the place for supermarket supplies, and it’s also handily got a fish and chip shop and a couple of pubs for days when your firelighting skills aren't up to much.

Adults-only, small and quiet family-run site in the Peak District National Park A 15-minute drive from Buxton, the Pennine Way and Monsal Trail Pet-friendly pub two minutes’ walk away; barbecues permitted on site Fields Farm Campsite is just the place for a peachy Peak District break. Just outside of a rural village named Peak Forest in the national park, this site is a walkers’ haven, with the Pennine Way and Monsal Trail just 15 minutes’ drive away (along with Buxton, a classic Peak District town with a spa history, meaning you can pamper yourself on this day out). Handily, there are walks direct from the door too. You can get to Eldon Hole in just over 10 minutes and dubbed one of the seven wonders of the Peak District, the pothole is an impressive sight. Peak Forest is just five minutes’ walk away too and here, you’ll be able to sample some homecooked food in a pet-friendly traditional country pub. Adjacent to the owner’s home, the grassy pitches have scenic views of the countryside (a great side dish for breakfast times, that’s for sure). And in the evenings, perhaps a barbecue will be another way to settle into the rural atmosphere. Happily, dogs are permitted here, so you won’t have to leave them behind. As for gathering together snacks, sandwiches and other stuff to keep you going while you’re out and about in the national park’s towns, villages or traffic-free trails, there is a pop up honesty shop in the pub carpark, main food shops are a 10 minutes’ drive away in Chapel-en-le-Frith or Tideswell to help you tick off your shopping list. Off the beaten track on top of the Mendips in an area of outstanding natural beauty. A mixture of four acres of wild woodland, orchard and field set on a hillside. Our Yurt is set up in the trees giving you peaceful seclusion and a clear view across the sea to Wales and the mountains of the Brecon Beacons. The Yurt is big and sleeps up to four very comfortably. It has its own stove and outside is a washroom just for you with hot shower , toilet and sinks. Your own meadow allows you to just relax and be. Up on the campfield you can bring your own tent or hire a Belle tent from us with all the fittings to camp contentedly. Our new Wash House has hot showers, flushing toilets and basins. You can light a fire and cook up a BBQ or maybe just watch the world go by. A huge range of activities are possible or you can lie in the hammock with a good book. We have very friendly dogs and rescue chickens who may come and visit. Wild deer wander past in the early morning mist and the odd buzzard picks an argument with a bunch of crows but nothing much else should disturb you. We moved here after an 18 month search 11 years ago. It was close to everything we wanted and we've spent some time getting a bit closer.

Such a gorgeous camp site will definitely return! There were lots of tents and campers around the site but still felt very calm and peaceful and plenty of space to pop up my tent :) The cafe was an added bonus and the drinks were lovely. The views from the site were amazing, only had to walk 30 seconds to the edge of the cliff and you had the most amazing view. When I arrived the staff gave lots of recommendations and help with the area. I took a walk to the pulpit inn which is about 20 minutes away and had a lovely dinner. Again I had an amazing experience and will definitely be back :) thank you!!

The grandchildren enjoyed their stay and walk to Miller's Dale and watching the on site cows. We would love to visit this site again.

Genuinely lovely, well appointed space! The grounds felt peaceful and the meadow was gorgeous, full of flowers and safe for our girls to run barefoot. With only four pitches in the first spot we felt very secluded. Fire pit was a lovely social space.

This is a truly lovely site. -pitches nicely spaced out in mowed out field with the in between space wild. -great facilities including clean toilets, showers with changeable temperature, indoor and outdoor washing facilities. -the most beautiful views -communal barn with table games (ping pong, air hockey, table football), fridge and freezer, opportunities to charge things, a panoramic opening for sea views and sunsets -welcoming hosts -great location -fire pits to hire and wood We would definitely return and bring the kids. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Beautiful setting. Clean toilets and washing up area. USB phone charging. Plenty of fire pits to go round. Easy pitching and a few tables to use. We had one noisy neighbour who turned their music off when the owners came round early evening so not too much bother. Normal farm and animal noises should be expected. Field on slight gradient. Thank you for an easy stay.

Beautiful campsite and surroundings. Loved the long grass and walks around the site. Great cafe too. Had no issues with parking. Staff helped us too when we turned up and someone was in our spot! Just to note the signal isn't great, I struggled to get internet but managed to find someone on site without issues. Shop is lovely. Small recommendations, I think there could be a sign in the toilet explaining how to use (or if that exists already I totally missed it). I also thought I read there were wheelbarrows to take your gear from the car park to the tent, I think adding these would be a great addition. Would happily come back again.

Spent a couple of nights here in our roof top tent, the land has a gentle slope, but is well taken care of. The facilities were kept clean, anytime something ran out, the owners replaced it really quickly. Great walking to be done from the site, from strolls to longer walks!
