Our property was a small family farm for several generations. Our family purchased the property about 18 years ago. Since we are not farmers but love living here, the question became "What would be the best use for the land?" Living in a scenic area and already being in the vacation rental business on some other family property answered the question. We decided to share the beautiful view and seclusion of our area with others. Our goal was to keep the cost of building down so that we could pass on the savings to you so that you would not have to be rich to enjoy our lovely area. This inspired the idea of a glamping cabin. The cabin is actually a repurposed office building that was built about the time this property was purchased by our family. We moved it to the present location and completely remodelled it in 2018 and added the bathroom. For 4 years, guests enjoyed an off-the-grid experience. In 2023, when we began work on the glamping dome (stay tuned--coming soon!!), we decided to add electricity, running water, and a hot tub to the tiny house! We hope you enjoy the cabin (and, soon, the dome) and the stunning view from them as much as we enjoy sharing this beautiful spot with you! Note: The Charming Glamping Cabin is at a totally different property. That property also has a section that used to be farmed. Now a lot of it is forest. We purchased the property around 2000. This cabin was built approx. 10 years later. At that point, the cabin was a tiny economy cabin with a sofa bed. However, it seemed most folks preferred comfort over economy, so in 2020, we added a bump-out to the side of the cabin so there would be room for a queen bed. Guests have loved the improvement. The Renovated Barn at Seneca Rocks is an actual barn, located on a little farm, complete with farm animals! Goats, chickens, peacocks, ducks, and a pig live at the other side of the barn. The Barn is located on a one acre lot, shared with the host's home. I give guests privacy while they are here, but I do come out to the barnyard twice a day to feed and tend the animals. The property is very close to many outdoor recreation areas such as Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob, Dolly Sods, and Canaan Valley where visitors can rock climb, hike, zipline, ski, etc, etc! *Adults aged 18 and older only, sorry no exceptions. The property is pet friendly for a charge of $10 per pet, per night (to be left in cash on departure). Great campsite and a ton of options depending on what you're looking for. If you have kids, you can't ask for more, as the campsite sit on both an easy to bike road and a placid part of the Dry Fork of the Cheat River to play in -- would be great for inner tubes when it's warm. The campsite was very quiet and tidy and they even had a coffee station, which was very appreciated. I will definitely be back! Vince is also a very welcoming host and checked in a couple times, which is always great.

We initally booked Waterfront Tent Site 2 but ended up staying in the Overlook Cabin. Every site on this property is an absolute gem! Do no hesitate to book this destination. The stay exceeded expectations! Our stay at Overlook Cabin Site was nothing short of spectacular. We booked this retreat for its unique blend of natural beauty, seclusion, and the inviting blue oasis! From the moment we arrived, it was clear this was a thoughtfully maintained and lovingly hosted property. The cleanliness of the cabin was impeccable, making us feel instantly comfortable and at home. Amber and Larry, the hosts, were incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming. They even gave us a personal tour of their property and introduced us to their adorable farm animals—a memorable and wholesome touch that made our experience even more special. The land itself is breathtaking, offering ample privacy and uninterrupted views of the surrounding nature. The peaceful atmosphere, combined with the off-grid feel, makes this the ideal spot for anyone needing a break. There were no drawbacks—only highlights. Everything was just as described, if not better. Overlook Cabin is the perfect getaway for anyone simply looking to recharge in a serene, beautiful environment. We'll absolutely be back!!!

The blue basin was beautiful in person and clean. We would definitely come back again. Very family friendly. Plenty of space for kids to run around, playground, and tubes/paddle boats were provided for the water. Outhouses were clean and within good walking distance. While very spacious, I can’t say waterfront tent site 2 gave us the privacy we had hoped for, the two sites were maybe 100-200ft apart. We would actually recommend waterfront tent site 1 over waterfront site 2, especially for those with children. We say this because the fire pit was close to the slope for site 2 (which may not be safe for kids), site 1 was closer to the outhouse, directly in front of the playground, and closer to a dock. Site 1 also had more wood available and their tiki torches worked. If you’re looking for plenty of land to run around with activities and something fun for the kids, this is your spot. If you’re looking for something more private and quiet, this may not be it. Overall we hope to come back with a bigger group and rent both sites. Would definitely recommend Amber’s land. She even came to greet us which was nice.

The campground is nicely situated in a valley away from public eye. We were the only ones staying at the primitive tent site for two nights. The campsites are nicely nestled within tall trees that provide plenty of wood for the fire. The campground does offer firewood for a great price. Unfortunately we had brought our own wood, but there was also plenty of wood to forage for and we ended up leaving a nice pile for the next camper. Watch for small branchs and twigs falling. The wildlife viewing was pretty awesome and the night sky was great for stargazing. Dont forget to bring a hammok for your site. Highly recommend this location. PS, very clean toilet!!!!

Great camping spot! The site are close enough to go with friends and not a far walk but far enough for privacy. Spot one is the close to the outhouse! Beautiful river front view! Will definitely rent again since it’s only 2hrs from Pittsburgh! My son also rented his own site with his friends! The host came and offered to go get some hot dogs for them as we weren't there yet with food. The firewood is $10 a bundle.

If I had one last day on earth- my dying wish would be to spend it here. I chose this site for my 51st birthday and the universe aligned with this beautiful place. What a gorgeous, serene, and breathtaking view of the pond, the windmills, the rolling hills, the fuzzy adorable cows and geese. I felt like I was in Abruzzo, Italy the woods and the breeze felt just like it! <3 Amber is so welcoming and fantastic, and the cabin is so cozy and perfect. I only counted sleeps and lost complete track of time, a perfect place to write and paint. I recommend bringing a strong battery light and a shortwave radio. I gazed among an ocean of stars, I forgot how stunning the sky can be without light pollution. Thank you Amber, for hosting a spot where I could truly rest and breathe as a solo traveler, I hope to return every year for my birthday <3 Seriously, any solo travelers considering this idyllic hideaway, you need this and deserve it.

Brooklyn Heights Campground is a fantastic place to stay! The campground is well-maintained and very clean, making for a comfortable and enjoyable experience. The host was amazing—friendly, welcoming, and attentive to guests’ needs. One thing to note is that it can get quite windy, so be prepared if you’re tent camping or setting up an awning. That said, the price was very fair for the quality of the facilities and hospitality. Overall, a great spot for a relaxing getaway!

This place is amazing! Not only are you getting great accommodations but you’re getting two great hosts. Larry and Amber are fantastic. We stayed in the Overlook Cabin, two bunk beds with trundle beds underneath, extremely clean and cozy with an assortment of amenities. Water bottles, cups, candles, plenty of blankets and pillows, bug spray and some grilling equipment. Propane heater inside was wonderful! You also have two picnic tables outside, chairs and a propane grill. The outhouse was amazingly clean! 10/10, can’t wait to go back! We had a blast!

RV adventurers are welcome too, with 10 picturesque near riverside spots (best suited for towed RVs up to 32 feet or drivable up to 35 feet). Four of these provide full electric and water hook-ups, while the other six offer a serene boon-docking experience. We have also recently added 2 deluxe furnished cabins, 3 large group riverfront campsites, and a bohemian bus shelter site that sleeps 8. Wild Yough is located in Southern Garrett County, Maryland very close to Herrington Manor State Park, Swallows Falls State Park, and the quaint mountain village of Oakland. The property adjoins thousands of acres of Garrett State Forest and hundreds of acres of state land along the Youghiogheny River. The world class Wisp resort and Deep Creek Lake are only minutes away. “Yough” is short for Youghiogheny River a state designated wild and scenic river which runs through the heart of the property. Wild Yough Glamping huts are part of more than 350 acres of private land, most of which is crisscrossed with hiking and biking trails. Youghiogheny is an Algonquin word meaning “a stream flowing in a contrary direction”, or in the case of the Yough, North toward Ohio Pyle and Pittsburgh. This section of the river is designated as a protected scenic corridor and you will feel the quiet isolation when sitting on the Crooked Butt Bench overlooking the big horseshoe bend in the river at the far back corner of our property. And if the river is low during your visit, feel free to wade across to the other side – Wild Yough owns the entire peninsula of land on the other side of the river and this is also bordered by State land.The river banks are steep on the property, but the fishing for small mouth bass is exceptional. There is a small turn around on the path just beyond Crooked Butt Bench where you can take out your canoe, kayak, or inner tubes after floating the 2+ miles from the Oakland bridge. Just be prepared to walk your water craft back up to the house or Glamping site as there is no motorized access to the river.If you like to lay on the rocks in the sun or take the kids for some wading in the river, the best place is the farthest to walk to. Take the trail to “High Bluff”, then cross the Snyder property line (Permission for trail access only – do not leave trail!), then descend down and cross the bridge across Herrington Manor Creek (a stocked trout stream!). Since our grand opening in July 2022, we've been welcoming guests year-round to explore and enjoy our 35 acres of unspoiled wilderness forest, complete with winding trails and a captivating 2100 feet of riverfront. Our diverse accommodations cater to all outdoor enthusiasts. Choose from 15 camping sites, each equipped with fire pits and slabwood benches amidst ample parking. For those seeking a rustic retreat, our 5 primitive shelter cabin sites feature cozy 10x12 lofted barn cabins, securely lockable with your padlock. RV adventurers are welcome too, with 10 picturesque near riverside spots (best suited for towed RVs up to 32 feet or drivable up to 35 feet). Four of these provide full electric and water hook-ups, while the other six offer a serene boon-docking experience. We have also recently added 2 deluxe furnished cabins, 3 large group riverfront campsites, and a bohemian bus shelter site that sleeps 8. Immerse yourself in the beauty of nearly 4 miles of wilderness riverfront, situated on a breathtaking road leading to the charming town of Parsons, WV - the heart of Tucker County and gateway to Thomas, Davis, and Canaan Valley. Your adventure starts here: kayak down the merging Dry Fork and Black Fork Rivers, stroll over to the nearby Hendricks via a charming cable suspension bridge, or explore the Fernow Experimental Forest, just a mile downstream. The surrounding Monongahela National Forest awaits with its vast, unlogged forests. Thrill-seekers and nature lovers alike will find no shortage of activities. From waterfall explorations, creek adventures, and fishing to kayaking, tubing, and hiking, there's something for everyone. Don't forget to bring your bikes, kayaks, tubes, roller blades, snorkels, goggles, and river shoes for an unforgettable outdoor experience! Our camp provides spring water spigots for general use, an office cabin with electric charging access, and clean porta-potties. Wi-Fi is available near the office cabin (password: campground19). The lovely town of Parsons, with all its conveniences, is just a 4-mile drive away. We are located less than a five minute walk to the rocks and feature unique, mountain/valley views from the eastern aspect of the iconic rock formations. There are private trails leading directly to both Roy Gap Road as well as the North Peak of Seneca Rocks. Local attractions include Spruce Knob - Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area, Monongahela National Forest, Germany Valley, Seneca Caverns, Nelson Rocks, Smoke Hole, North Fork Mountain, Canaan Valley, Davis, Thomas, North Fork South Branch of the Potomac River, and so many more. Fourth Moon Camp may be accessed by reservation only, via Roy Gap Road. This road is a gravel, state road. It is single-vehicle-width in many places, uphill, and without any easy turnouts. This road is advised for experienced drivers and capable tires only. Please use extreme caution and be ready to reverse to the nearest turnout, rather than attempt to pass side-by-side in vehicles.
