Brooklyn Heights Riverfront Campground
Slow down among the forests and river scenery of Tucker County, West Virginia. Our 36-acre campground has approximately 2,100 feet of Dry Fork River frontage, with wooded campsites, riverfront gathering spots and year-round stays near Parsons and Monongahela National Forest.
CHOOSE YOUR STAY
Pitch a tent in the forest, gather at a riverfront campsite, or choose a rustic cabin, the Bohemian Bus Retreat, our wood-stove tipi, or RiverCamp Lodge with its two glamping tents. RV1–RV4 offer electric and seasonal water hookups; RV6–RV10 are primitive RV sites without hookups. The former RV5 location is now RiverCamp Lodge.
Riverfront sites have different group limits: RF1 includes eight guests with a maximum of 12; RF2 includes 10 with a maximum of 16; RF3 includes six with a maximum of eight. The Bus has eight indoor sleeping spaces across two buses. The tipi has four cots, with outdoor tent space for additional registered guests. Check each listing for its sleeping arrangements, included guest allowance, total capacity and extra-guest charges.
RIVER DAYS AND FOREST EVENINGS
Enjoy the designated river access areas, fishing, wading, swimming, tubing and kayaking when conditions allow. Bring your hiking boots and bikes to explore nearby trails and the Hendricks pedestrian swinging bridge. River levels and currents change with rainfall; supervise children and choose activities appropriate to the conditions.
SHARED FACILITIES
Campground porta-potties and the Coffee Pavilion are available to guests. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate cost $2 per cup. The wood-fired sauna is booked separately, and firewood is available for purchase. Water systems are winterized November 1–April 15; plan accordingly and review your listing’s water details. Parsons is approximately four miles away for shopping and dining.

Check-in begins at 12 noon; checkout is by 10 AM Follow the arrival instructions for your reserved site. Quiet hours are 10 PM–8 AM Pets must be leashed and supervised. An additional tent area deeper within the site gives your group the option of a more secluded place for a larger tent. The surrounding trees also provide opportunities for hammock camping.

Settle beside the Dry Fork River at RF3, a sandy campsite adjoining the right side of the shared main beach area at Brooklyn Heights Riverfront Campground. With trees behind the site and the river in front, RF3 offers a comfortable setting for a smaller group that wants easy access to the beach.
YOUR CAMPSITE
A trail leads down from the main campground road to RF3. The site has room for one medium-sized tent and a couple of smaller tents and/or hammocks, depending on your setup.
Enjoy a picnic table, a fire ring with benches, and additional chairs for relaxing outdoors. Nearby parking is along the road shoulder in designated areas; keep the campground road clear.
RF3 adjoins the public beach, so it is less secluded than RF1. It’s a good fit for campers who enjoy being close to the swimming area and shared beach activity. For a larger tent footprint, consider RF2.

IMPORTANT FLOODPLAIN INFORMATION
RF3 is in the river floodplain and is subject to flooding or flash flooding, particularly during heavy rain, spring snowmelt and tropical storms. The site may close when dangerous conditions are anticipated. If the campground closes your site for flood danger, you will be notified and your campsite fees refunded. Contact Vince directly to arrange any such refund.

The RV pad extends approximately 45 feet back, with an entrance around 32 feet wide for back-in access. The site accommodates an RV or camper up to 35 feet long plus your tow vehicle, with additional room for a canopy or large tent among the trees.
Gather around the steel fire ring with rustic slabwood benches, enjoy an afternoon in the shade, and spend your evenings sharing stories around the campfire.
EXTRA TENT SPACE and PARKING
RV10 includes an additional forest tent area extending toward the cabin village. This space can accommodate a large, multi-room family tent and connects to the main site by a trail lined with logs.
A designated, labeled parking space for RV10 is accessible by driving through the cabin village. Additional vehicle parking is available parallel to the road in front of the site. Please keep the road and neighboring access points clear.
The extra tent area is part of your RV10 reservation; the eight-person maximum applies to the entire site.
PRIMITIVE CAMPING and UTILITIES
RV10 is a boondocking site with no electric, water, or sewer hookups. Quiet generators are welcome outside campground quiet hours, which run from 10 PM to 8 AM
Shared water spigots and electricity for charging devices are available near the camp office cabin. Firewood bundles are also available for purchase, and clean porta-potties are located nearby.
The campground is open year-round. Electricity near the office remains available year-round, but water systems are shut down from November 1 through April 15 for winterization.

RiverCamp Lodge — Two-Story Cabin + Two Glamping Tents
Gather your favorite people for a cabin-and-camping getaway beside the Dry Fork River at Brooklyn Heights Riverfront Campground. RiverCamp Lodge is a roomy red two-story cabin on a large wooded site with river views, two furnished glamping tents, two firepits, outdoor seating and plenty of space to relax together.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
The cabin sleeps up to nine guests in three twin-over-full bunk beds. Two bunks occupy one open upstairs sleeping room, and the third is in the downstairs common area. These are shared sleeping spaces for your group, rather than separate private bedrooms. Stairs are required to reach the upstairs room.
Both glamping tents are included and contain sleeping mats. Each tent has room for up to four people, but the current reservation limit for the entire property is 16 overnight guests, including children. The nightly rate includes nine guests; additional guests beyond the included allowance are $7.50 per adult and $5 per child, per night. Everyone staying overnight, whether in the cabin or tents, must be included in the reservation.
Fitted sheets are provided for the cabin beds. Bring your own additional bedding, blankets and pillows, or arrange a complete bedding set for $15 per bed, for up to six beds. Tent guests should bring bedding suitable for the season.
CABIN COMFORTS
Enjoy heat, air conditioning, electricity, indoor lighting, a kitchen and food-preparation area, one medium refrigerator, one small refrigerator, a dining table, couches and chairs. Running water inside the cabin is not yet available.
TOILET FACILITIES
Toilet facilities ARE available: guests use a shared campground porta-potty outside the cabin. The lodge does not have an indoor bathroom or a private shower. This is a comfortable campground stay with rustic facilities, so please plan accordingly.
OUTDOOR LIVING
Your private lodge site includes two firepits, outdoor chairs, gathering areas, and picnic tables under the onsite 10-by-20-foot canopy for covered outdoor dining. Parking is available at the lodge and nearby in designated areas. Keep campground roads and neighboring sites clear.
Spend your days exploring the river, relaxing by the water, or enjoying fishing, wading, tubing, kayaking and swimming when conditions allow. River levels change with rainfall; supervise children closely and choose activities appropriate to the conditions.
AROUND THE CAMPGROUND
Guests can enjoy the campground’s shared river access areas, paths, gathering spaces and Coffee Pavilion. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate are available for $2 per cup. A wood-fired sauna experience is available to book separately, and firewood bundles are available for purchase.
Parsons is about four miles away for shopping, dining and services. Explore the scenic dead-end road extending roughly 2.5 miles beyond camp, or visit the Hendricks pedestrian swinging bridge about half a mile toward town.
GOOD TO KNOW
Check-in begins at noon; check-out is by 10 AM. A $35 cleaning fee applies per stay. Quiet hours are 10 PM to 8 AM; audible amplified music, unregistered visitors and disruptive behavior are not permitted. Use only the designated firepits, follow any burn restrictions, and fully extinguish fires before leaving or going to bed.

Very friendly, great site, easy to access in car that is lower to the ground.
My site was difficult to find. I spent a good 10 minutes driving around looking for it. Only when I came in the "wrong way" did I see it. On a road, up a hill, in the woods. Site was very primative. Basically took a bulldozer, cleared a spot and said, "Campsite B2." Have a rooftop tent, navigating the tight "roads" with my truck was tough to manoueber through in some places, turning around was nearly impossible. Pluses, the portapotties where clean and stocked, the little "coffee shop" was cute, and they had WiFi.
I didn’t arrive till all but dark unfortunately. I had wanted to do a little exploring along the river but time didn’t allow but when I head that way next year I will be back.
Amazing camp, great location, amazing firewood prices, Vince was super friendly and helpful, it had a little coffee barn you could chill in and A SAUNA?!! 10/10 would recommend

We arrived Friday night around 9 for a late check-in and had no problems at all. We started cooking right away—there was already a grill set up and even some firewood left for us, which was super helpful. The place was very clean, no trash by the river, and honestly, no mosquitoes, which was amazing. Saturday morning, Vincent offered us the cold shower and sauna and even fired it up for just for us—such a cool experience. We tried fishing too. No luck—either there weren’t any fish or we just didn’t know what we were doing. Still, it was really fun. Later that night, Vincent let us know a storm was coming and generously offered us his cabin for free so we wouldn’t get soaked. That was beyond kind. We spent Friday night through Sunday noon there and overall had such a great time. Five stars. Highly recommend.

I stayed at RV eight this time. This is my third Camping experience. It is a lovely campground along the river. You can be as private as you want to, which is the way I like it, but there are opportunities to socialize with other campers if you choose to. There is a fire ring with seats right next to the office where I heard many people laughing and talking together in the evening. I really enjoy hearing the river at night while sleeping!

We enjoy our time at Brooklyn Heights Campground the river was amazing and we had it pretty much to ourselves the whole weekend. We were kind of spectacle when we first arrived because the city across the river was kind of loud with Sirens music and truck noise but as the night went on it was quiet and we had a pretty peaceful weekend. Loved having the available water floaties available for our use. We honestly did not think we would take advantage of the coffee bar but we did on our last morning to save time packing up and it was great. Honestly no real complaints great Campground Swinging Bridge down the road is also fun
This location is sublime. Gorgeous clear and swimmable river, generous and helpful host in Vince, clean and sheltered campground, scenic views and more. Everyone around was friendly and conscientious. The scenery and climate was perfect. Can’t wait to come back.

Overall we had a great experience! Beautiful location. Loved the coffee house area. The downside, when we arrived we had a bag of trash on our porch, there was food on one of the beds and I know it’s camping but the cabin had a really bad mold smell with some mold on one of the bunk mattress. Porter potties were ok as far as cleanliness goes.
