A short 10-minute drive to many area lakes to explore and experiences offered in all seasons including fishing, and boating in Muskoka lakes in the summer, cranberry marsh experience in the fall, and snowshoeing, cross country skiing, biking in the winter- there is something for everyone to explore when staying in this area! There are two cabins now on the property, but one is brand new and private and not accessible- it will be vacant for your stay. There is also a private sauna, but is also not accessible. The cabin pictured is in the middle of a private 5-acre property across from Turtle Lake and spans turtle lake road, to Donnelly and Poke Road, so it’s easily defined by the roads around the land. There is no direct access to the lake, but there are many lakes and beaches within a short drive. There are also many quaint towns to visit, beautiful hiking trails to explore all nearby. The main floor has a pull-out double bed, and the loft has 2 sets of bunk beds, ideal for kids. The bathroom facility is a newly built very airy eco-outhouse - you will be pleasantly surprised! There is a sink to wash up, and an outdoor shower, but for now, only cold water is available. This an ideal family getaway or a romantic getaway, I look forward to hosting you!

W-Ranch is privately owned neighbouring property and is not part of the campground. Guests are asked to respect the property boundary and enjoy the ranch views from our land. Beyond our property boundary are approximately 200 acres of adjoining Crown land, offering additional opportunities for hiking and backcountry exploration. Guests are responsible for following all applicable Crown land regulations and respecting the natural environment. Camping Areas and Privacy The campground is divided into three distinct camping areas: • Meadow • Lakeside • Shield Each area contains between one and three individual campsites. Depending on current bookings, several groups may be staying on the property at the same time. The campsites are thoughtfully spaced to provide guests with comfortable personal space and a good degree of privacy. However, booking an individual campsite does not include exclusive use of the entire 44-acre property or the lake. The lake, forest trails, Crown land access routes and certain common outdoor areas may be shared with other registered campground guests. Because the property is large and the three camping areas each have their own landscape and atmosphere, guests can normally enjoy a peaceful, spacious and uncrowded outdoor experience even when other groups are staying on the property. Guests who would like exclusive use of the entire campground for their family or group are welcome to contact the host before booking. Depending on availability, group size and specific requirements, dates and pricing for a private campground booking can be arranged separately. The Lake A secluded 10-acre inland lake borders the property and is especially beautiful during the spring and fall. There is no public road or public boat launch directly on the lake, so the setting is normally quiet and undisturbed. Although the lake cannot be reached by a public road or public boat launch, other registered campground guests may also use it. Unless exclusive use of the entire campground has been arranged in advance, the lake is not reserved for any one individual campsite or group. Lake conditions change naturally with the seasons. During the warmest part of summer—most commonly in July and August—floating aquatic vegetation and duckweed may accumulate along the shoreline closest to the campground. When this occurs, the immediate campground shoreline is not suitable for swimming or launching a boat. Clearer, more open water can generally be found approximately 150 metres farther along the shoreline. Guests whose main priority is swimming, paddling or boating should plan to use nearby Killbear Provincial Park or Georgian Bay, where excellent public water-access options are available. A 12-foot aluminum boat with a four-stroke motor may be available to rent when lake conditions permit. The rental fee is $60 per day, including fuel. Please confirm availability and lake conditions before booking the boat. Access, Shared Areas and Respect for the Land The lake is bordered by our private property and adjoining Crown land, with no public road or public boat launch directly on the water. The area is secluded and normally very quiet. However, Crown land remains publicly accessible, and several groups may be staying at the campground at the same time. Complete exclusivity of the lake, trails or property therefore cannot be guaranteed unless private use of the entire campground has been arranged with the host in advance. Welcome to Cedar Creek Forest Camping! Voted second best campsite in Canada in 2021 and ranked number 2 in Ontario in 2022. I have 97 acres of very private camping. The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life. The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood. Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest. My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things. The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights. Cranberry Camp is located 7 kms past the village of Pointe au Baril. It’s surrounded by Ontario native forest (the “bush”) and wetlands in the hinterlands of Georgian Bay. We love to share this beautiful part of the world with visitors! We are 3kms from Sturgeon bay Provincial Park (a nice beach!) and 3kms from the Bayfield Inlet public launch on Georgian Bay (visit the iconic pink rocks and windswept trees of Georgian Bay). We came to this area because of the fresh air and clean water. Visitors to the area should be aware that you cannot see any of the Georgian Bay coastline from the highway or roads. We highly recommend you get out on the water in a boat of some kind (there is water access near here for canoes, kayaks and other boats). We also recommend that visitors go to the French River Provincial Park to understand the unique history and culture of the area. That park is 35-40 min north from here and has a lovely small museum/interpretive centre and a footbridge over the French River. This secondary highway (ON 529) is fairly quiet and decent for cycling. It's very quiet north of the ON 529A turn-off! Cranberry Camp also has a small house, a guest lodge for retreats (we host healthy living and healthy building workshops), 2 lovely and private recreational vehicles (a 24’ Jayco and a 27’ Cougar) as well as a tiny home. All spaces are scent-free, low VOC and no WiFi. We help people create healthy homes and buildings. Hipcamp sites are accessed from hard-packed dirt/gravel driveway either perpendicular or parallel to the road. An outhouse contains a composting toilet (using the Humanure system), a solar light and jug of water for handwashing. We love to host people getting away from the city or taking exploratory road trips.

The camp site is in a beautiful pine forest. It’s nicely secluded and they provide a variety of things to help you out while there including chairs and a variety of items for cooking etc. I really enjoyed swimming in the creek. The swimming hole is decently deep and the water was nice and clear. Plus it felt quite private. The hosts were very responsive to any messages I sent. I’d certainly recommend this site!

It was a nice stay. Unfortunately the weather was poor for 3 of the 5 days I was there but I made the best of it. My site had "water access" it was on the water but besides launching a canoe it isn't very good for swimming, very weedy, same as the common beach area. I went to Hutcheson beach which is only a five minute drive away. It would still be nice to see a floating dock added. The site was spacious and it was nice to have the canvas tent there. It is very dark in the tent so bring extra lighting. The bed was comfortable but it needs a head board so the pillows don't fall off. Maybe some hooks or a shelf to put things on. The space between sites is substantial and you have a lot of privacy from other campers, it was very secluded considering it was only 8-10 minutes to downtown Huntsville. I had a nice and relaxing stay. Looking forward to my next visit.

We just love the space and privacy. We rented both sites for a family get together. Lots of room whether you trailer or tent. The outhouses are great! We saw deer, cows, turkeys and Canada Geese. Weekend Trip to Peaceful Off-Grid Cabin Retreat

We came out here for a peaceful getaway as most couples would. But, we never expected our cabin to feel like home for three nights and having the most scenic view just from the back porch. Sure the rain kept us from having a fire in the back but that didn’t stop us from seeing all the amazing outlooks and trails!! I would recommend this place for ones who enjoy the quiet and greenery when being stuck in the city life!

It is one of the most beautiful places I have been to in my life! If you're looking for a place to call homeway to explore the area, you cannot beat it. It's like a little elvish or Hobbit village. The toilet is even on an old cedar trunk. They have done a lovely job making it peaceful and lovely. Don't expect the regular campground amenities because it does come without them. And that's good in my books. You don't have a bunch of campers around you make a noise and playing music. It is so absolutely peaceful. The other added bonus was the dark sky preserve feeling as I have never seen so many stars at night other than being at a dark sky preserve. Very cool! Highly recommend! Hopefully they'll have me back again LOL.

Really enjoyed our second year at campsite 3. We love having access to the lake and the kayaks. This year we had some issues with Raccoons but other than that it was a great time.

We loved staying at their camp. It was very serene and felt secluded. One night we heard a baby deer for about 6 hours. FYI- Meaford Memorial Park let us use their showers.

Weekend Trip to That Place In The Woods

Although we used the cabin mainly as a place to just sleep for this trip, my five year old and I enjoyed our stay. The woods were cute and everything was easy to find / get to as described by Jennifer. We would love to come back sometime and actually spend some more time in nature and camp here. One thing I will note is that the property was a little bit more run down than in the photos, maybe as if nobody had been there for a while (ie. I didn't feel quite comfortable going through the art trail as the start had some fairly long grass and weeds and was worried about ticks with my son and the door of the screened in lounge was hanging off the hinges). These things didn't hinder our stay at all.
