Grand opening! Looking for privacy, away from all the traffic? Look no further than Hansford Meadows! Guests will have access to 5 private acres. The camping site is next to a creek with brook trout that you can fish for (with a fishing license). Put your chair in the creek on a hot day. Watch the local animal population: black bear, fox, beaver and more out on the meadow. Great biking and walking opportunities in the local area with many circle tour options available. Pop in and see the town quaint town of Oxford. Oxford could be right out of a Stephen King novel with all that charm (especially in October). Site fee includes use of: indoor compostable toilet, creek side patio table, complimentary firewood (when permitted to burn). There are no hook up services, but the site is large enough to accommodate a full-size RV or bus. Cell service is also available. Generator use is OK, but not past 10pm. Pack it in, pack it out applies. If you are looking for a place that you do not need to share with other campers, Hansford Meadows is the perfect spot for you. 3km off exit 7 from Trans-Canada 104! A great place to spend the night while on the road or park your rig for a few days and enjoy everything the area has to offer. 1 hour to Moncton, 90 minutes to Halifax. Close to the Bay of Fundy, Joggins Fossil Cliffs and the warm waters of the North Cumberland Straight. Wentworth recreational area (skiing and mountain biking is also 20 minutes away)

The Lobster Boat Inn

The Lobster Boat Inn is located on a hill in the woods in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. It sits high and dry with no water in sight. Thus the serial number: NOMOH2O as it will never float again. Our motto is Off the Grid, Off the Water and Off the Beaten Path! The original boat was built in 1995, and when found was in need of some tender-loving care. It was renovated in 2022/23 to provide visitors with a rustic, unique, "glamping" experience. It is filled with lobster-themed items that will send you on an imaginary lobster pot-pulling adventure. Cook on the back deck as you drink in nature, then eat in an original ship's wheelhouse or outside on the picnic table by the fire pit. Our amenities include: comfy beds, fresh drinking-water, refrigerator, interior and exterior bathroom facilities, with a hot shower gas wall heater and AC. If you like, try the eggs for breakfast provided by my girls. Off the property you will find near by in season: auto race watching, hiking, biking and shopping activities. Downtown Antigonish is but a ten minute drive. The famous Highland Games comes in July along with the Lobster Festival in New Glasgow. The University is now offering day passes for a small $15 fee to their large swimming pool , exercise gym and co-ed sauna so don't forget to bring your swimwear for these or of course one of the 19 Antigonish-area ocean beaches. Sure, you can sit inside and watch one of the many DVD movies, but why not : explore nature, take a walk through the woods, talk to your wife, friend or child, play with the kids, or throw a ball for your dog? If you want to relax, maybe a visit to the golf course would tickle your fancy. Or just chill on the comfy relaxation deck. Do you want to ride, your bike on mountain trails, fish, visit a lighthouse or a petting farm? We have all that too! Take a drive on our new 4-lane Hwy 104 and you'll be blown away at how beautiful asphalt can be. Wide-open highways make for smooth, fast, travel to places like New Glasgow, Pictou, The Cabot Trail or the ferry to PEI. All are within an hour's drive. Stargazing is wondrous through our dark, clear skies. If you're lucky, you might even spot the Space Station passing by, as you sit at the fire-pit roasting marshmallows after a long day of fun.

Big Blue On The Bay

"Big Blue" sits atop a lawn covered hill on the shore of the Cobequid Bay. A grove of fir and pine trees offer a sense of woodland solitude and fairies. The energy is magical. You can enjoy a front row seat or amble down over the lawn to sit on the end of the public wharf to watch the tidal bore squeeze into the mouth of the Shubenacadie River. It won't be long and you can marvel at the force of the water as it turns and begins to pour back toward the Bay of Fundy. Walk across the dyke to reach the oldest continually operating general store in North America - Frieze and Roy. Beyond the Wharf, a locally stocked craft shop borders us on the easterly side of the lawn. Next to it you will find Dawson Dowel Picnic Park, a playground and basketball court. On the westerly side of the driveway you there is a marsh area. The remnants of the shipyard where the WD Lawrence was built in the 1800's can be seen poking through the sand on the beach directly in front of the marsh. At low tide you can walk for miles in a westerly direction. Always be Tide Aware! Across the road from the marsh is the residence of WD Lawrence himself. It is a provincial museum. Directly across from Big Blue is a Ducks Unlimited pond. The sound of the geese and ducks can be heard 24 hours a day! There is a path that circumvents most of the pond. Adjacent to the Lawrence House parking lot there is an observatory where you can linger and watch the shenanigans of the occasional muskrat or possibly a beaver. The washrooms are accessed through a side door on the verandah of the main house. There are three showers and three toilets. If happen to be missing your "workout" there is a treadmill and exercise bike available to use. Outdoor fire regulations are strictly adhered to. There is a BBQ available for a small fee.
