Enjoy the comforts of home at some sites—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
Our family lives onsite at FireLoch, a serene retreat space and social enterprise in Northern Nova Scotia. Each summer, our space quiets down because we're so busy all winter and need time to rest! This year, we decided to invite others to join us during this season of rest and summer fun. We welcome Hipcampers to join us by camping on the land, staying overnight in our renovated barn apartment, or bringing an RV to stay! We are located just steps from gorgeous Lochaber Lake, one of the longest and deepest lakes in Nova Scotia. It's a great spot for paddleboarding, kayaking, swimming, and fishing. We're also just 15 minutes from Antigonish, so you'll have easy access to amenities while feeling miles away from civilization in our mossy forests!

Forested Camping Sites on 50 acres

All tenting sites are off grid forested spots in the towering pine trees (closely located to the shared amenities of the washroom and kitchen facilities at the dome, OR backcountry spots anywhere in the 50 acres, near the stream, deep in the moss, or in cleared and level spots around the property. Guests can book use of the pizza oven, axe throwing or sauna facilities, and the property is cut with beautiful trails, a dozen hammocks at various spots throughout the property and many more hidden treasures to find!

The extra large parking area near the geodesic dome at FireLoch is the perfect spot to bring a camper van, pop up or RV. You'll have access to the wheelchair accessible washrooms and basic and shared kitchen facilities, 50 acres of cut trails, hammock garden, and guests can book time to use the pizza oven, axe throwing, wood fired sauna too!

Primarily used as overnight accommodations for our retreat centre facilitators in the winter, our renovated barn is a great spot to stop and rest for the night in the summer too. You'll have access to the private building which includes a downstairs living room with wood burning stove, coffee/kettle, kitchen table, chairs and couch. Upstairs (not wheelchair accessible) is a comfy queen sized bed, single pull out bed, fridge and microwave, incinerating toilet and wash station. Note: there is no shower in the building -outdoor shower is available seasonally which is onsite and a two minute walk away from the barn.

Enso Dome

Stay in Atlantic Canada’s largest 4 season geodesic dome, a unique forest retreat with trails, hammocks, firepit, and community lake access just down the road. Unwind in nature or elevate your stay with optional add-ons like a wood-fired sauna and axe throwing lessons. Private and peaceful, this dome offers a cozy, nature-based experience with modern comfort. Perfect for couples, solo travelers, or small groups seeking adventure or relaxation. Inside, you’ll find a cozy king-sized bed, two couches and comfortable chairs for lounging, a custom walk-in shower, and a spacious open-concept interior. There are no bedrooms, this is an open concept space. Step outside to explore our network of walking trails winding through the property. Please Read Before Booking Our property is a mixed-use space, and we believe it’s important to be transparent about what to expect. While the dome is available as a private accommodation, it is also used seasonally to host community events, wellness retreats, workshops, and corporate gatherings. As a result, you’ll notice the space is equipped with 25 yoga mats and other group amenities. This is intentional—you’re staying in a unique gathering space that occasionally welcomes overnight guests so it’s primary function is not residential space but it makes for a beautiful place to rest overnight! If you’re searching for a luxury boutique dome experience with perfectly curated décor and complete isolation, our space may not be the best fit. Instead, we offer something different: an authentic, spacious, and welcoming environment where people come together to connect with nature, themselves, and one another. During your stay, you may see or occasionally hear other guests enjoying, staff, or event participants exploring the trails or other shared outdoor areas. However, the dome itself is reserved exclusively for you during your booking, providing a private and comfortable place to relax and unwind. If you appreciate unique spaces, nature, and meaningful experiences over polished perfection, we’d love to welcome you. Other things to note You are welcome to book the wood fired sauna for $50/session and also a private 1 hour axe throwing experience for $75.

Cozy bed in a renovated barn!
Jennifer was extremely welcoming and we were able to settle right in. We weren’t able to fully appreciate everything available to us due to commitments in Antigonish. We look forward to returning when we can just enjoy the beautiful space they have created.
