My grandfather grew up on the farm next door which is still family-owned. In 1947 he married my grandmother and bought the adjacent Higgins property. As the 3rd generation of my family to be lucky enough to enjoy this private oasis, I am happy to be able to share the breathtaking sunsets that I enjoy every day. Bordering one of the largest dairy farms in Nova Scotia, rural sights and sounds give you a real downhome feel. Bring your metal detector and search for long-lost relics of the horse farm once owned by Clarence and Annie Higgins. Interact with nature with a scavenger hunt. Canoe, kayak, tube or fish on the beautiful Musquodoboit River. Visit the provincial picnic park for river access.Rural peace and seclusion!  I am the 3rd generation of my lineage to be enjoying this peaceful family property. Pitch your tent on whichever plot suits your fancy. Situated beside one of the largest dairy farms in Nova Scotia, you can hear the peepers and bullfrogs from the nearby pond as they sing you to sleep under the stars.  There are open sites for the stargazers, sites with a view of either the farm or cornfields. Wooded and semi-wooded sites for those who prefer more seclusion. Overlooking the majestic Musquodoboit River Valley, the colorful backyard sunsets here are a photographer's dream. Rustic camping in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere.  5 min drive to most amenities. Canoe, swim and fish in one of the cleanest and most breathtaking rivers in Nova Scotia. MV Bicentennial Theatre and Cultural Centre (5 min drive) is a handsomely restored 200+-year-old heritage building. The 200+ seat theatre, which is still in operation has had its main stage graced by many famous artists, actors and musical icons. This multi-purpose venue doubles as a community hall.
