Weekend Trip to Fraserville Off-Grid Camping

Wow! Stunning view overlooking the Bay. The pictures dont do it justice. The spot was spacious, simple and very private. My dogs had a blast. The outhouse was very clean, grass maintained nicely and the firewood was appreciated

What a beautiful property! The host met us and took us to the spot overlooking a marsh and river. He also directed us to the water and firewood. The site is quiet and secluded—saw a deer, bear and bald eagle in the morning.

Kevin was very nice and welcoming! I took the spot a short drive back on the property next to a little pond with artesian well water. The site was packed gravel and level- good for sleeping in my van. The best part was the bathrooms in the nearby barn with showers!

Weekend Trip to 4 Oaks Park

Oaks Park is a beautiful, well-maintained, and wildly romantic overnight spot surrounded by nature. The host, Alan, is extremely friendly and helpful. A sea eagle has its nest nearby. It was raining heavily when we arrived. However, the site is easily accessible, even with two-wheel drive.

You may also choose to just simply relax by the campsite and immerse yourself in the outdoors listening to all the wonderful nature sounds. Nearby is renowned Martinique Beach (40 minutes) and Clam Harbour Beach Provincial Park (25 minutes) great for families to enjoy on a warm day. We’re also close to East Jeddore Harbour, a small fishing community with the friendliest people. Sobeys, NSLC, and other stores can be found in Jeddore about 20 minutes away to stock up on all the camping necessities. This was one of the original homesteads in the Margarees. There was an old sawmill on site which was used to build the house and barn. It was sold to a man who started renovations for a summer house but ended up listing it for sale. I purchased it and completely renovated the 100-year-old house. Shortly after, my brother and I started an outfitting company with no plan of building a campground, but in 2017 we saw a great opportunity for building something unique. We wanted to keep a backwoods camping feel, but yet create it around a hostel-inspired environment. We launched June 1, 2018 and are in full swing now.
