We have a half acre lake front lot with privacy. We have access directly to the lake from the lot and a laneway for a small boat as well. There is fishing, paddle boarding, boating, hiking and walking on these quiet roads in the wilderness. The Bay of Fundy is down the road maybe 2-5 min. If you want peace and quiet then here it is, a nice fresh lot on a lake out in the middle of no where. We DO NOT have any any of the equipment (kayaks, paddle boards and fishing equip) there you must bring your own. There is no washroom or electricity yet, so please be aware of this.

This is a sweet little property of approximately an acre, though the whole lake is undeveloped. The site is treed with mostly mature trees and overlooks Little Robertson Lake. The lake is close, but the shoreline is not extremely easy to access. This campsite is private, but not remote. It is located close to a byway and you can drive in. There is not too much traffic on the adjacent road which leads to several white sand ocean beaches and trails along with Keji Seaside National Park and Thomas Raddall Provincial Park. All within a few minutes drive.

Oh. My. Gawd. Where to start?! This is one of the original properties for the area. Owned by one lovely family since the 1700's until your current (very lucky) host. The house was the post office from 1861 to 1961. One of the rooms was the hospice for the area... SPOOOOOKY!!! There is a culvert from the 1700's on the property from where the province moved the highway sometime before the 40's. Neat! Reggie took over ownership in 2020 and is keeping things as original as possible, but adding his touch, like his battle axe travel trailer, Franny, which makes her home in the driveway. She's worth a visit! - TENT ADVANCED LEVEL LAKESIDE is by far the most beautiful; however, it is a small area, located on the edge of the property, and I can't be responsible for the neighbours to a certain extent. Fort Nova is your home for as long as you choose. Let's get campy! **KEEP IN MIND THAT THERE MAY BE OTHERS STAYING THERE** But there are multiple areas to choose from, including: the lawn, living amongst the pines, a forest clearing, or even lakeside (it's rough back there). You can have complete privacy and feel free to reach out to me at the house if you need anything. For those with RV's, there is an exterior outlet and a water spigot, but please remember, others might be staying there so we need to play nice and share! On the property, there is: - A decent-sized lake (I wish I had a canoe... :( ) - 1700's abandoned bridge - Lots of foraging (Won't be held liable if ya eat something silly!) - Rail Trail (runs through the property) So many bloody things to do nearby: - The ocean is right across the street. - Oasis Fish and Chips (Also right across the street!) - Beech Street Kitchen (in Lockeport) - Barrington (Lobster capital of the world, UFO capital of Canada) - Brooklyn (Hank Snow's hometown) - Provincial Parks - Boxing Rock Brewing Co.

Andromeda House sits on 30 beautiful acres, stretching from our waterfront to the top of the Mountain. Perched dramatically above the Annapolis Basin, the views here are truly awe-inspiring—and only get more breathtaking as one explores higher up on the property. Our path network is maintained for access to the very satisfying “Upper Lookout”. This path continues and you might just find your hosts working on this area. There are also various mountain access roads provide terrific hiking and mountain biking opportunities. Photography, rock hounding, mushroom hunting and star gazing are ideal activities. Birders in particular should be pleased. The property has been in our family for generations and an old sled path winds through and up it. We are also developing a spring-fed swimming pond this summer. Currently, we have new fields of sunflowers and wildflowers to attract pollinators—bumble bees, hummingbirds and monarch butterflies are especially abundant here. Wild apple trees abound and there is a stand of old maple trees we will be tapping next spring. Beyond that is a mature Beech and Poplar forest. We are within walking distance to Victoria Beach, an authentic fishing village nestled at the base of the north mountain and surrounded by the Annapolis Basin, the Digby Gut and the Bay of Fundy. Did we mention the views?

Kejimkujik National Park camping guide

Overview

About

Kejimkujik, known as Keji to locals, offers incredible hiking and kayaking routes, as well as a variety of camping options, from frontcountry tenting and cabins to RV sites and secluded backcountry island campsites. The park has an abundance of historical Mi-kmaq, or Mi’kmaw, sites, which can be experienced via organized petroglyph tours and First Nations workshops. The stargazing is also especially impressive, given the park’s status as a designated Dark-Sky Preserve.

Notable campgrounds

  • Best for big groups: Jim Charles Point Group Campground offers tenting sites for groups of 8 to 80 campers with a group firepit circle.
  • Best for RVs: Jeremy’s Bay Campground by the shores of Kejimkujik Lake offers spots with hook-ups, plus a store serving up ice cream and slushies.
  • Best for hikers: Kejimkujik features 46 backcountry campsites throughout the park, some only accessible by boat, and all close to amazing hiking trails.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. Camping reservations open online via Parks Canada in mid-January of each year.
  2. This popular park on the South Shore of Nova Scotia is close enough to Halifax to draw lots of locals, so booking early is recommended. This is especially true if you’d like to stay in one of the park’s cabins, oTENTiks, or the Little Foot Yurt on the Mersey River.
  3. You may get lucky and secure a day-of tenting site, but booking in advance is your best bet.

When to go

Nova Scotia is beautiful year-round, but if you want warm weather, book your trip from late June through early October. This is a great time to swim in Kejimkujik Lake or take a drive down the coast to the park’s Kejimkujik Seaside. Jeremy’s Bay Campground can get a little loud in the height of summer, while fall brings leaf-peeping and fewer crowds.

Know before you go

  • Parks Canada offers dozens of activities, tours, and workshops at Keji, but the most popular ones get snapped up fast. Book in advance.
  • Imported firewood is prohibited in the park, so all firewood must be purchased once inside.
  • Wifi in the park is limited, so don’t expect a great connection.
  • Kejimkujik Seaside is available for day-use only, but nearby Thomas Raddall Provincial Park offers overnight sites for tenting and RVs.
