Herman Lake Wilderness Campground

We had a wonderful two nights at Site 2. This is a very special place full of wildlife and the hosts are top notch. We are impressed by their stewardship of the land and wildlife and will be back again. We found two critter treasures and left them by the dino for your littles to find. Thanks for everything!

I grew up on ivy road and was eager to show my friends the beauty. Direct quote from our group "im seeing BC for the first time all over again." Everyone will be returning. Spent 3 nights on site 2 and it was absolutely perfect. Tip: take the eagle bay route up to the site if you want to avoid some backroading.

We loved camping on Caitlin’s land! She was so so sweet and informative, and there was lots to do and see(if only we had more than just an overnight!). Our site was right next to a sauna, and overlooked a cute little marshy lake. We walked around and checked out the neighbouring sites available, and they all looked really cute. Pets are allowed, we had our 2 huskies with us! There’s a coin shower, a dock, sheep, turtles, a playground, fire pits, an outhouse with a cushy seat. The sound of frogs croaking throughout the night:) highly recommend staying here, and we will keep them in mind for next time we visit out that way. Thanks so much for the lovely evening Caitlin!

Well kept and thought out. The outhouses were very clean and we really appreciated the hand wash stations outside of the outhouses. It was quiet and we had a great view of the lake. My wife got to help with the beehives and we also ate lunch on the lake with our conoe rental. Overall a great weekend camp out.

We had an amazing time staying on Caitlin and Keith's land. They were so welcoming and helpful and even came to let us know that there were fireflies down by the water. The site was clean and beautiful and the outhouses were well maintained. We wished we would have been able to stay longer and will definitely be back!!

Beautiful

The spot was absolutely beautiful and very well cared for. Glamping experience was even better than expected with stunning views of a private pond full of wildlife. The hosts were very welcoming and go above and beyond for guests! We will definitely be coming back soon!

Epic levels of birds and frogs

Frogs were having a full moon singing rave!. Was awesome. Some owls joined in too. Not been many places where you can immerse yourself in that sonically. Vast array of birds up at this marshland lake at elevation and away from traffic. Lovely camp spaces. Nice outhouses.

"Campfire Clan" Group site #4

Word of the day: Peaceful. If you want to reconnect to nature this is the place. And when nature calls - you get the cleanest, comfiest outhouse I’ve ever seen. Monet would have loved to paint Herman Lake! It was hard to leave.

It was our first time camping here and it was a blast! The campsite was beautiful the lake was surreal! Loved every minute we got to spend here! The hosts were so amazing too! We had such a wonderful stay at Herman Lake Wilderness Campground! 🌿✨ Catieln is the most friendly and welcoming host, and her beautiful family made us feel right at home. The campground is so quiet and peaceful—it was exactly the getaway we needed. Our kids loved petting the sheep, picking berries, spotting butterflies, frogs, and lizards—and were thrilled to see a baby moose! We enjoye fishing at Herman Lake, and White Lake (just minutes away) was also fantastic. This is truly a beautiful place, we will definitely be coming back again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful, family-friendly escape! ❤️🐑🎣🦋

My wife and I loved our stay at Herman Lake Wilderness Campground. The camp is located on a beautiful property away from all the city noise, plus the hosts are amazing!! (Probably the most welcoming and down to earth host family). We'll definitely be back :)

This is a beautiful and remote campsite. The hosts are really friendly and have a very cute pup! The sites are private and the toilets are very clean. There is a foot pump tap by the toilet so you can wash your hands. Site 9 has a water tap (not potable) beside it so you can easily clean your dishes. I highly recommend this site. We had a great time exploring the property, picking berries, and looking at the stars at night. Thanks so much!

We had a group of 6 adults and 2 children and had a great time camping at Herman Lake Wilderness Campground. Caitlin and her family were beyond accommodating and so nice to deal with all weekend. The property is beautiful and the spots are all nice and private. We all look forward to coming back again!!

Our stay was so nice. The site hosts are so kind and helpful. The dock is only a 5 minute walk from the camp. And there is sheep you can look at aswell!! Not every site has there own fire, but there is community fires u can use. Running water is available, but not drinkable.

Great setup and great people!

The site is peaceful and relaxing, perfect for a quiet escape. The grassy campsites were a huge bonus, especially with a little one who loves to snack on rocks. Caitlin and Keith are incredibly kind and welcoming hosts. They had a communal fire going each night which was a super cool and friendly atmosphere! They have the nicest ( and biggest) outhouses I have ever been in! Thanks for the stay!

This was a forested site with washroom and communal fire pit close by. Dog friendly. Nice private site large enough for our tent and gazebo. A short drive to the lake. The property was well kept. The outhouse was clean. The host was pleasant and welcoming. Our stay was short but we will definitely be back for a longer stay. Great spot nicely done!

Backcountry and wildlife!

The camp site at Herman lake was off grid and has a backcountry feel to it which we loved! Site 2 was a group site that our family of 5 and my brothers family of 4 stayed with our two RVs. The site was big enough for the both of us and then some. There is a 15min hike from the campground to a park services dock on lake Herman that we did both nights with the families. We caught 1 rainbow trout and saw a moose! There is a very cool outhouse close by with a comfortable toilet seat and pump faucet to wash up. There are also 7-8 tenting sites all around that have their own private space. The drive up to the sites turns into a dirt road that in some spots are steep buy out RVs made it up no problem. Beach was a 12min drive. Overall if you like private and primitive this is a great stay!

This is an amazing place to camp! Site 1 is right on the water, so you can relax on the porch of the glamping tent and watch the wildlife. It's an incredibly peaceful place, with private campsites, as well as a (very nice!) pit toilet and outdoor shower. I highly recommend staying here!

We are so happy to have discovered this little gem. For anyone craving a true escape into untouched wilderness this campground is the perfect spot. We were amazed by the variety of wild flowers and herbs making it a true forager’s paradise; we even gathered a harvest of delicious wild strawberries. Witnessing turtles in the wild environment added to the charm. Let’s not forget the outdoor showers what a special added touch. The peaceful and serene surroundings combined with the incredible hosts, made our stay unforgettable.
