Many years ago, this area was a country get away for St. Louis city folks. Now, the large farms are smaller farm estate residences for people like me who enjoy large trees, open land, wildlife, and some privacy.

Located in a quiet country-like neighborhood, located 2 miles from Scott Air Force Base, 2.7 miles from I-64, 2.1 miles from Memorial Hospital, and minutes from shopping and eating venues. This convenient location stop is located in the back field behind a farm estate home on ~6 acres. A bike trail is located at the entrance. My home is visible from this area, it also backs up to a 145 acre historic park. These items are available upon request: a portable bathroom with an eco-bag*, 2 gallons of water*, a fire pit*, firewood*, tables and chairs*. If your dog will be joining you, let me know in advance if your pup is good around other dogs or not. Because some campers are super self sufficient and want privacy, and others carry a lighter load, please request needed items in advance (i.e. chairs, table, water, firewood).

It's so close, but feels so far away! This campsite is nestled in the wood line between a 6+ acre farm estate home and Engelmann Farm Park in the Village of Shiloh, a 145 acre preserved historic park. The home is only 2.7 miles from I-64, 2 miles from Scott Air Force Base, 2.1 miles to Memorial Hospital, and just minutes from shopping and eating. A bike path is accessible from the entrance of the property. You bring a tent and some food, the campsite provides a fire pit grill, firewood, camping/grilling utensils*, aluminum pans*, portable- camping toilet w/eco bags*, toilet paper*, wipes*, and chairs. Note items with *should be requested at least 24-hr in advance.

First off, this campsite really does exist. I booked it and was able to sleep there. The hostess is kind and helpful. She made sure we had all our provided supplies and plenty of water to drink in the 90 degree heat. They even came over and offered to let us bunker down in their basement if the tornado sirens went off. Thankfully, they didn’t. You’re getting what your booking.
